The only task it really speeds up is aberrant spectres.in fact lower defense is actually faster tasks for anything you use deflection prayers on, since lower defense translates to more deflection damage.

Maybe towards the end but I feel now, I don't really have much use of a slayer full helm > a slayer ring. You don't need a fsh for cave crawlers (just go to the ones in the fremenick slayer dungeon/cave)I have sumona and I did a few tasks (not that many - about 30 or so) but I never got the spectre/DKS tasks. I have gotten banshees (maybe 2-3 times) but it seems like for the most part, either the monsters are so low leveled that you don't need the extra defense or the monsters are so high leveled - you're going to pray them anyways in which case it doesn't matter. This is just speaking from my experience - I probably will go for slayer full helm first, and then buy a ring or two every so often to make teleporting faster while saving up for the ability to learn how to craft rings.

March 6, 201115 yr As most people as went slay helm first, big error.Rings are so convenient especially for the quickest access to fairy ring network (this really saves a huge ammount of time), put your house in desert and you have a delayed house teleport (saves invo when slaying + just handy), also access to slay tower, slay caves and tarn's lair (medium to awesome depending on your slaying habits).

Fairy ring doesn't bother me much with fercoious rings, the only time you'll be using them is after you've gotten a new task. Does Kuradel even assign anything in the caves? Tarns lair... you got me there. But how often are you even going to go there, that depends if OP has terror dogs blocked or not. All the good stuff that is in the slayer tower is in Ancient Cavern. You can do ab specs and cave crawlers without a slayer mask. In both cases the cannon is doing the brunt of the work, so a 15% decrease in your melee effectiveness isn't TOO big of a deal (as opposed to, say, abyssal demons). In addition, the cannon hits pretty accurately, so I doubt the 15% range accuracy bonus on the cannon helps a ton either. Furthermore, the smoke in the well cannot KO you, so as long as you are praying melee against cave crawlers (and they don't hit through prayer or anything that I'm not aware of), you can use a black mask and kill cave crawlers. You'd just be at 1 LP the entire time. ~It's Super Effective!
