I've never used piety on slayer tasks before (88 slayer to get the picture), the only task I used piety on was Mithril Dragons. I'm thinking of using piety on every task now, but is Piety something you use to power slay (something I don't want to be doing, I just want to enjoy slayer), or is it a regular thing to use? My setup would be (just prayer items listed) Verac Skirt, Prossy Top, Trimmed skillcape (No Soul Wars cape), and Fury, so 21 prayer bonus at the moment using the usual gear like barrows gloves and d boots, is this gear ok? I have extremes and my stats are in my sig if you need them.

Uh, power-slaying, by definition, means using extremes/piety/turmoil, more or less. So . . . yes?

I use piety on every task not cuz I powerslay, but cuz it gets me more kills an hr, which means more $ for me. since I have always had alot of p pots in stock, I barely lose $.

i don't see why you wouldn't piety tasks, unless your totally broke

i guess it's considered "power slaying" in a way, but i don't see how killing stuff faster makes it more boring than killing monsters slowly

I think he was talking about 'power slaying' - in the sense that you have to be super active and grab every monster that spawns. I guess he's also implying that you would have to use a cannon/waste a lot of money on potions/etc so you get faster exp/hour.

 

However, piety makes your tasks a LOT faster at a (very) low cost - it's basically a small investment to turn out larger profits.

piety everything

 

slayer helm

fury>glory(str ammy for very low defence)

bandos chest > torso > prossy top

bandos tassets > prossy legs / v skirt (depending on defence needs)

d boots

fire cape > ardy cape > sw cape > trimmed (get a firecape)

barrows gloves (if you dont have these get them

42 rune arrows cause pro slayers get rare drops

dragon defender

fero in kuradel, zerker((I)) outside

 

and finally, rapier

 

if you don't have it. go get it

with 30 prayer bonus piety uses 1200 p points/hour, 12 p pots/hr at level 72

25 bonus, 1309.2 p points/hour, ~13 p pots/hr at lvl 72

20 obnus, 1440/hour, 14.5 ppots/hr

15 bonus, 1600/hour, 16/hr

9 bonus (maxed strength gear), ~1850/hr, 18.5 p pots/hr

 

so you save around 20-30k maximum using prossy and sw gear and other crap over strength gear. and lose alot of xp.

Personally I never piety any task unless its the last kill or something like that, but i go on tasks fine with bandos and a super set. but I guess some people can be like that.

 

I wouldnt take prayer gear purely for the fact is that a souls war cape, any type of stole and bandos armour will give you a decent prayer bonus aswell as the good strength bonus.

 

What i would take would be.

Bandos Chest

Bandos Tassys

Why wouldn't getting bandos + sw cape be a bad idea if you're using piety on everything?

Having verac plate legs, prossy chest and a fire cape is pretty much the same as bandos + sw cape

the only thing you're really missing out on is a +1 to your attack - the str/prayer bonus is the same.

it's still a useful cape, just not for slayer. it is good for boss hunting like dks, tds, or gwd where banking is more of an issue

I mean yeah, it is but I don't see anything terribly wrong with what that guy said (except for the fact that he has prayer gear but he's not using piety)

If you want some sort of prayer bonus - a bandos + sw is almost (pretty much the same) as prossy plate/verac/fire cape

Fire cape and bandos is better

 

Using v skirt and prossy top saves like 15k an hour. That's nothing. And piety slayer profits even with 0 prayer bonus
