I decided to take a step into group dungeoneering today so I hopped over to world 117 (My first mistake). I quickly found the floor I was looking for and the advertiser even included "no noobs" guarantee. About 5 minutes into the dungeon i was running low on lp so i went to soul split a gallimastyx.

 

I WAS MET WITH THE BIGGEST RAGE AND COMPLAINING I HAD EVER SEEN

 

WHY ARE PEOPLE SO STUPID. It's well established that killing dinos doesn't reduce xp. All 4 of my dg partners ragequit 5 minutes into a dungeon because I killed a god damn cow. whatthe[bleep]erry at it's best.

Egg launcher rumours I kinda got, the theory was that in killing the runner with the egg launcher, you'd miss out on the points the runner gets for trapping it instead.

 

But really, Dinos? The only reason I can think of for not killing Dinos is, well, it's a waste of time usually.

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

at least there is a quickchat option for the egg launcher.

 

But I have also met rage for accidentally attacking and killing a dino. Why do people believe in these stupid rumors, even though there is nothing to back them up?

For everyone's knowledge, I've actually checked this down in Daemonheim's depths while Dungeoneering in the past. Very sadly, you do happen to lose Dungeoneering exp if you ignore the Dinos, so make sure you kill them. You'll be extremely glad that you spent the ~30 seconds max to do so. Anyone telling you that you lose exp by killing them has been clouded by this idiotic myth and is lying! :shame:

Sorry, as someone with alot more DG xp than you , can't say i've noticed getting any LESS XP from not killing them, so i'm inclined to believe Jagex that ignoring them does nothing.

If you don't have to kill them to clear a gd, why would they affect your level mod(I think that's what it's called)?

I got pissed with someone for killing a dino once, but that was because there were aggressive monsters in the room that he really should have helped with first. (He also picked up and sold some gorgonite bars that were gonna be used to make me a weapon that I and the person who was gonna smith it for me left by an anvil for when we got enough ores because we were one short.

I hope you're trying to be sarcastic or trolling.

Riiiiiiiight, which explains why you get a negative level mod in dungeons where you only kill the Guardian Door monsters. If you want the max exp for a dungeon, you gotta kill every aggressive monster in it.

I meant if they aren't considered necessary monsters in a gd, they aren't a type of monster necessary for a max level mod. You can kill all monsters but dinos and get max level mod. I was talking about the dinos, not all dg monsters. I understand all other creatures in a dung count towards a level mod.

Why would you kill a dino anyway? The better way is to trap the dino so you can get useful hides out of them.

 

But yes, dinos don't affect xp gains in any way. They're treated like resources, just like mining rocks and fishing spots.

Why would you kill a dino anyway? The better way is to trap the dino so you can get useful hides out of them.

 

But yes, dinos don't affect xp gains in any way. They're treated like resources, just like mining rocks and fishing spots.

You might want to read more carefully next time:

If you are low on hp, then I guess your team must be around half clear a dungeon.

I dont dung much so I'd like to know why the hell would they want to rage quit and spend time on regrouping and redo another dungeon for that marginally more exp? Is it really more time efficent to rage quit?

a) use dgs

b) when in w117 do what noobs do. Horde enough food so you don't need to ss dinos.

c) teams that advertise 'no noobs' or 'no idiots' are generally hosted by noobs and idiots.

Yeah, but in that case if the penance runners get to the gate, everyone loses one point automatically.

 

As for the dino, yeah it is annoying. I killed one the few times I did dungeoneer and it helped in my choice in not training the skill. ;)

I have 100 Dungeoneering and I can tell you that Dino's have absolutely no impact on the level mod. Dino's are a resource, much like the ores for armours. You don't get reduced experience for leaving ores or tree's in the dungeon, so it is no logical that you would lose experience for not killing the dino's.

 

 

I always laughed when people ragequit because I killed a dinosaur.
