January 5, 200620 yr I've been playing Rs2 for some time now but every once in a while I remember a part of classic that I really enjoyed and miss that they removed. I know Rs2 is a much better overall game but some of the things I know I took for granted while playing classic I won't get the chance to relive. The thing I most miss about classic was varrock wilderness and especially mage pking. To me there was nothing more fun then going into the wilderness fighting other mages in one of the few "dueling" things that actually required skill. Sorry if this is isn't allowed here, I was just wondering what other people missed about classic days.
January 5, 200620 yr Ability to change legs into skirt and visa versa. I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm
January 5, 200620 yr Everything! (not that im a rsc fan, rs2 is better, but still...) When i was a little noob playing rs classic it seemed like that was the best game ever invented! Everything was so relaxed, and more fun! Since rs2 came out ive found that its got more technical, and everything is so much more frustrating. In rsc i loved sitting there killing lvl 6 rats on a account my friend made for me, it was great! and best of all i didnt care if a person came past me calling me a noob, being 30x the lvl of me and having every item i have always wanted! In rsc i was proud for what i had, since rs2 came out, ive found ive always wanted more :( RSC WAS THE BEST!!!
January 5, 200620 yr Author Ya, another thing I really miss is how easy it was to get a name for yourself. Nowadays everything has been done before. I still remember the first kid to get 40defense at lvl18, it was amazing because nobody thought of doing that before. Now it probably sounds stupid because much greater things have been done but it was the little things that people came up with daily that turned them into a recognizable figure in rs.

January 5, 200620 yr The days before you could find a autominer at every miningplace were awesome! When there was people like waltteri and hohto who worked hard to get their levels in a fair way. The days before newbies called you a autocatcher just cause you caught them two times in a row. Im retired from rs so i dont know how much cheating and scamming going on today. I realy hope its better now. And I hope jagex dosent solve cheating problems with a massban with lots of innocent players like they did in jan 2004.
January 5, 200620 yr everything, especialy wilderness everywhere R.I.P. The Old Nite 1960-2006R.I.P shiva, we will always remember you
January 5, 200620 yr everything, especialy wilderness everywhere ^^ i agree, Also the reqs that jagex made up for the armour and weapons Respect- Oy_the_Great, Lode, Bubsa, Weezcake, Thrash111, Gloric, Vmser, Pianofrieak2, Runemetsa Sigs Made By - Pink
January 5, 200620 yr RS-classic wasn't a better game, if you look at it objective. But the community was smaller, pkers were more dangerous and everybody knew everybody. (if you had a decent level ofcourse) Now, i feel sometimes lost in the huge p2p world, because in classic you could always find your friends at the same places, but now it's more a lottery if you want to find your friends to 'surpise' em.
January 5, 200620 yr Like Hotho said, converting legs to skirts would be good if it was still around. But I don't think we'll be seeing it now, thanks to the Dragon Legs and Skirt price difference, as well as having tons of different leg armors now. Another thing is the fact that you can "use" items which players now, which is as far as I know completely useless, and gets in the way often with cooking and such. Also, I don't like the fact that powerful weapons are almost useless in RS2 due to being slow. Frankly, a Bronze Dagger outperforms a Steel Warhammer, that can't be right.
January 5, 200620 yr boing hill, and rsc theiving Runescape nick : Fat_SlugOwner of Ears, Scythe and a 10 year veteran cape :D
January 5, 200620 yr there is already a topic about this(like 100) i only miss that the people were nicer back then Computers will never be above humans because we made them. That's what monkeys used to say about us.
January 5, 200620 yr there is already a topic about this(like 100) i only miss that the people were nicer back then Definitely. I miss the fact that there wasn't all this advertising for it *cough* Miniclip *cough cough* and people had a lot more respect for each other. None of this noob-this and noob-that. People were nice for the sake of being nice, not because they wanted something, just a good clean fun gaming experience. Now it's all about levels and items and gold and people are forgetting the real purpose of MMORPGs (IMO)- to socialize. If youre a pure anything, you get so engrossed in your training and whatnot, you just don't have time to be social and it really hurts the atmosphere when everyone ignores each other. I'd rather have a bunch of people spamming garbage like "@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@" than nothing at all, personally. *Gets down from soapbox*
January 5, 200620 yr boing hill, and rsc theiving Yes and Yes. And dueling. :( Oh how I miss the old duels in draynor.
January 5, 200620 yr I also preferred the more "cartoon-like" "campy" colours of RSC. Also, in RSC, the altar room from the black knight's fortress was bigger, and had 2 black knights spawning inside, with another 2 that were close by, and often wandered in. It was a great monk training place, with lots of intense spawn-competition. Great fun, which I miss. I also miss being able to ALWAYS kill-steal with arrows; heck, that's why I started leveling range in the first place .. to hold my spawn in the giant room. === On the other hand, things I love about RS3D that I now couldn't live without: 1) Bank notes (I really really hated certs). 2) Being able to freely reorganize my bank space at will. (I'm a neatness nut.)
January 5, 200620 yr i would have to say i miss rsc theiving the most, and the leet experience you got from magic spells. i know the ammount of runes got doubled because the spells xp got halfed. but now it takes twice as long to level. Dragon Drops: 5 medium helmet, 3 left shield halfObby: Maul 1, Cape 1, Shield 1
January 5, 200620 yr Author Another thing that I really miss is how ranged wasn't as big of a skill as it is now. When you checked the front page you only saw a handful of 99ers and only about 40 ppl above 90 so when someone reached 90+ ranged you knew who they were and it was much greater of an achievement. I felt sad when i came to rs2 and saw people got my 94 ranged I had in rsc in a quarter of the time because of how fast ranged training is.
January 5, 200620 yr boing hill I love you =D This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
January 5, 200620 yr what i miss about rsc is: RSC! i miss the whole thing but now the members get it  can someone explain why its now for members only? Finally retired from RS. It's been a good 4 or 5 years.

In rsc i was proud for what i had, since rs2 came out, ive found ive always wanted more :( RSC WAS THE BEST!!! Yeah, I agree totally. With RS2 came more greed, and I'm never content with what I have. Attitudes changes alot, also. Especially with trading. I hate it when you offer a price, and instead of bartering it up, they decline to tell you more. It's just a waste of time and an awful attitude. I liked RSC better, but just because I joined in late 2001, or early 2002. Something like that. I played RSC for a LONG time. I remember when I used to go around, searching every barrel and bucket in search of Money, or whatever. I'd find 3 GP, and be totally happy. Or when I first found Rimmington, and I went upstairs to find a bronze scimitar! I'd take the scimitar, kill the man, go sell the scimitar at the General Shop. I thought I'd come up with an awesome strategy for cash. ;P I remember my first set of armour. I picked the class Miner, and made myself Full bronze. It was pretty awesome. And when I saved up to get full Mith, and lost it all in the wilderness, and stopped playing for a week. I remember going from level 49 to 50. Longest combat level of my whole RS career. I stopped playing RSC at level 55. At that level, RS2 came out, and I joined it. I am level 83 now. I didn't play RS2 as much as I played RSC, really.. Just some stories from the Cranium o' ALEX. Wait a second. If RSC is members now, what happened to all the people who chose to not join RS2, and keep their stuff on Classic? Are they screwed or what? I'd love to go back and play RSC for a while. I should become a member again. XD It really has
January 5, 200620 yr i think its to stop so much autoing, that really sucks it had to come to that. If people didnt auto then we could all enjoy the experience of rsc! :(
January 5, 200620 yr Yeah. I also forget to mention RSC Pking was alot more fun. ;P You didn't have people Teleporting everywhere. And if they did, they were Mages. Maging was hard to get up. I did the Dragon slayer in RSC, and was super-pissed when I found out I need to do Telekinetic grab. It took me a month and a half to get that level from 3. I remember my old pking team.. Maxiemumu (who I am good friends with still. ;P) War Phantom Finger Snaps Killerdude I don't even know if that's the proper way they fashioned their names anymore. ;( XD I like it when you have all these people calling the Dragon (from Dragon slayer) down. I tried to tell them about how freaky-hard the Dragon was in RSC. No one listens. ;( Wow. I've typed alot. End post'd! It really has
