Ginger_Warrior
Pol Pot deserves a shout. Gaddafi too. I'd bet 93,000,000,000 Zimbabwian dollars on Mugabe making the list, he's made a country full of trillionaires after all. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |

The funny thing was that he specifically said they had to be American. I mean, if they're British, or Iraqi, or Afghan, they don't go on the list, do they? [/sarcasm] Last_to_Kn0w was being insensitive. Knee-jerk reactions are rarely the best reaction. ~ W ~

NZ_Dingo
Friedrich Nietzsche - Nihilist philosopher who's work I love. Sir Isaac Newton - Discovered gravity. 'nuff said. Albert Einstein - Amazing scientist and philosopher also a bit of historical irony; he hated his own creation. Marie Curie - Work-aholic died as a result of her work. Also won multiple nobel prizes  Josef Mengele - Angel of death. Interesting life; one of the Nazi Doctors in WWII. Contributed to the advancement of medicine and was part of the reason that medical ethics were revolutionized. Destiny of a DIY Dingo. We could've had it all. @Dakota_Diamond

Guest Rob
Yeah. What he did may have had some slightly related benefits, though I doubt he intended for that, so it doesn't make him a better person, regardless.

One of the best men in the world was someone who tortured hundreds, if not thousands of people, and ordered the deaths of thousands of people? Yes. Multiple presidents have gone to war and effectively ordered the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people in the name of 'peace' yet still held in high regards for their actions. Actions can have adverse effects his actions had extremely good ones. So tbh I idolize him for his work and the repercussions. In the name of improving medical treatment. Sorry to say, patient treatment was already improving before it was remotely known Mengele did his deaths. But their actions caused the implementation of the Nuremberg Conventions for human experimentation; generally speaking ethics don't change unless there's a shock wave that leaves people horrified. Yeah. What he did may have had some slightly related benefits, though I doubt he intended for that, so it doesn't make him a better person, regardless. The purpose of the experimentation was to improve the German armies; although many people don't agree with the methods the end is justified. But hey that's my opinion; feel free to disagree :P Destiny of a DIY Dingo. We could've had it all. @Dakota_Diamond

NZ_Dingo
...........You think that the person who does something to create new laws by doing something heinous and horrible is a good person? You're a psychopath. If you compare the amount of people he was responsible for vs. others it's quite small. I have a great deal of admiration for all of the Nazi Doctors. Along with how many people those laws have potentially saved. So Dingo, if someone murdered your entire family and the whole situation caused you to be more grateful about life and so you end up becoming a successful millionaire political hero, you would give thanks to the criminal for causing your enlightenment? Are you sure you're not just trying to be obscure? Interesting. I can't say what my reaction would be; I'd be torn between two opposite emotions. Although after the initial grief I'd be apathetic towards the man. Not trying to be obscure; just stating my thoughts. His signature says everything. Destiny of a DIY Dingo. We could've had it all. @Dakota_Diamond
Giordano
Did you miss my post on purpose? In the name of improving medical treatment. Sorry to say, patient treatment was already improving before it was remotely known Mengele did his deaths. You seriously think hospitals in 1946 were sawing people's legs off with no amnesia or the government abducting people to do pointless experiments on? I understand your reasoning, but it does not even remotely work for Mengele. He did not change anything for the better good, at least not anything to get remotely on the 'Top 5'. Maybe, and this is a maybe, if Mengele operated a hundred years ealier his actions would deeply influence medical conditions. But in 1945 doctors were already humane to their patients. And at this point, please ignore the ridiculous assumption all doctors were careless, twisted [bleep]s before a certain date.
