This was a pre-meditated murder! He had it all planned out, he executed it and then when he was about to get busted for it he runs to his friends house and denies it. That's someone who knows what they're doing. It would be insane if he did it then ran around naked admitting what he did and turned himself in. Insane my backside... It didn't say that he was hearing voices... The only thing that came close was when he ran to his friend's house and claimed that "intruders" made him do it... That doesn't really mean he's "seeing people", it's that he didn't want to take the rap for that. He's not crazy, he's just upset with his poor family. And in my god honest opinion, you are a fool. In my High School, Goth has come common place and nothing of the unusual sort. I'm friends with plenty of goth people, none of which cut themselves nor are they depressed. It's a life style that they choose. We could just as easily call you insane for the life style you choose. For one, if listening to heavy metal music makes you insane, then put me in line for an insitution because it's all I listen to. Also if you want to pull the "but heavy metal talks about killing people" card, bullocks. Such bands as Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, and many others, have lyrics of no such sort. What kind of symptoms? Symptoms of schizophrenia include warped perceptions of reality, delusions, hallucinations, and disorganized thinking. Sure, if he has those, doesn't mean he's planning to kill his family because he wants richer parents. That's his whole motive and schizophrenia is not an excuse for that.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Granted, this kid has anger problems, probably something to do with being poor. I can't blame the kid for wanting to be wealthier, but not to the extent where you plan to murder your family and put yourself up for adoption so you can get rich parents.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A diagnosable mental-illness is the only way this kid would get off going to jail. Doesn't seem to me that this kid can make that case. It was clearly pre-meditated.

I think the only way to determine his mental health would be gathering various viewpoints on his family life; neighbours, friends, extended family. If his parents were abusive and violent, then it was most likely premeditated. But if they were good parents, he is most likely derranged or suffering from mental disabilities.

I'd probably agree to him going to some kind of mental hospital until he turned 18 then throw him away into a regular jail for a long time. That's probably the most likely scenario. But I wouldn't think an angry brat would go to lengths such as this. Maybe there was someone else? A friend, an internet contact ... someone who would have influence over him.

I think him being goth has plenty to do with the subject, but not as to why he killed his family. Most goth's either A) Have something wrong with their head (very few) or B) Are just whiners/fakers who want attention.

Personally i am considered a goth at my school. I do not go for the makeup though. Also most my friends are goths and they were goths long before they turned suicidal. being a goth has nothing to do with self mutilation and such. Being a goth is more like a statement. The clothes you wear, the music you listen to and your perspective on life is what defines us not self mutilation.

Yeah really, this was a pretty sick act, but you can't just look at it and jump to conclusions because he was goth, there is obviously more to it than that. This kid had some major issues and there may have been a situation where his family didn't accept him for being goth, like my friend Anthony, his parents didn't like the way he dressed and acted so they kicked him out of the house, now he's living with our friend Jarrod, and it's funny cause Jarrods mom cares more for Anthony than his own mother did. But for the idiot that said all goths are insane... you couldn't be more wrong. Look past the exterior and look inside, he didn't just snap someday because he was goth, he premeditated this and knew fully what he was doing, and if this kid gets off with the insanity plea, than man anyone can, and that had been proved the past few years.
