SilentDragonfly
Today we see in the update that the prices of items in the mage training shop have fallen. Dramatically. For Runes, this is a good call, they were very overpriced considering they can be gotten elsewhere. What has really annoyed me is that the infinity robes have dropped by masses. The enchantment pizzaz needed now for boots, for example, is 1200ish compared to over 3000 last night. Is this another case of lazy whiners getting their way again? I always thought I'd occasionally see someone wearing infinity robes and think, "wow, someone really had a lot of patience to train for those" Now any fool can get them. I feel really sorry for those who trained really hard to raise their points so high before today's update. Seems also that while enchantment has dropped massively, some of the others have risen, i notice, graveyard and telekinetic. I logged off last night with exactly enough enchantment, alchemy and telekinetic, with just some graveyard left to do until i could buy the top. Now i'm 60 points under in tele and graveyard has risen another 40. I understand this may have been a decision to help cancel out the drop, but it is in no way significant. In my opinion the respect and the self satisfaction for people with infinity will drop greatly for the sake of lazy people. Are the players having too much control over the game? The pointes required were rather high. Jagex wants to keep their paying customers happy.
ShadowFire
In some ways I am happy about the points dropping, as it makes it easier to get Infinity Top and Bottom, but in other ways I'm a little annoyed. Not only because I had to buy more nats to get my Graveyard and Alchemy points up to the required total for top, but also because I won't look half as unique when I finally get Top and Bottom. My friends didn't want to bother getting the stuff at it's old price, but now they are going to get it since it is cheaper.
All_Bogs
I think it makes sense that boots cost less than the robe top now. Also, I think Jagex seems to have underestimated the amount of effort that goes into getting the items and has dropped the prices a little because of that. It's not like the real top of the line items are 10x easier to get; the top and bottom still require a fair amount of points to obtain (bottom more than top for some reason), and the mage book still costs a ton of points as well. It's merely the minor items such as boots that've seen a bigger decrease. That, and it's still a mind-numbing amount of telekinese games that needs to be done. silver24-7
omfg they did this so wrong. the prices were fine they said it was meant to show ur adaptness at these skills. ok they were a bit high but cwars armor takes days to get as well. now what they really should change is having these items tradeable. wearing full infinity wasnt a sign of wow he had the patience to do all that anyway :S it only required that u were lucky with drops or a good merchant or however u get the money u can just buy the entire set !!!! I'm Finally 99 mage ^^ (and cooking...) :PSilver24-7 -
cluck
Their fault for bought it. Be smart to wait rather than buy or do now. I usually wait for a few weeks when anything new stuff release as places, method training and items etc. I can remember how many stupid people can't wait like tried bought lots of cat training medal and a few hours to found Jagex moderator made mistake then people lost lots of money. Another example was people bought whips for like least 20 millions gp last year ago. Old prices are way too high because full ahrims better than new mage armours but new mage armours are hard to get than full ahrims. Mystic armours are too easy to get and similar stats as new one. Peronix
I don't think jagex ever intended the infinity robes to be a status symbol, more of a reward for training hard in the arena. And yes, you still have to train for quite a long time to get the items even at their new prices. Just not nearly as long as before.

Sometimes it works the other way though. After the party hat dupe, the ones that took the chance they wouldn't be somehow deleted were the ones that got rich. On a lesser scale, when slayer was added, the people that bought 10s of k of broad arrows at 6 each (arrows that are ~ addy). Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't with fixes like this. Also, ontopic I think the book is pretty good? And the master wand might be handy in a stake.
danman789
In My opinion, they should've make all the robes books wands etc. untradable. It would have been like a fire cape, but with easier reqirments :o I'm 106 and I'd do it if it wasn't for what Reb posted... If Reb jumped off a cliff, would you follow him? Who wouldn't?

sheepdean
only good thing about this is the runes are cheap (why would i need tele spells for cosmic?) and they new spell is only 500 epp off wat i have. shoulda left the robes at their price, or made untradble Back by popular demand! And I guess I just wanted to tell you, as the light starts to fade, that you aree the reason, that I am not afraid, and I guess I just wanted to mention, as the heavens will fall, that we will be together soon if we will be anything at all. Surfboy
You gotta keep the paying noobs happy. It was a stupidly high amount of work to get them, but sometimes that's what is necessary. It kind of reminds me how you can solo the level 702. Think about that. You have people level 100 who are able to do it - 14% of the level. That's like a level 16 being able to kill me (a level 115). It's just not going to happen - I would heal any HP lost in the rare event that the level 16 dented me.

Creaphis
I believe I speak for about 50% of the population when I say "Woo hoo!" I never cared about having a status symbol or anything of that sort (I've never wanted to own a party hat or other rare), I just wanted to get some useful new items. And now I can do that more quickly.
