  1. It always makes me laugh when people state that "you shouldn't get a 99 skill just for a cape". It's fine for someone to earn 7m for a Dragon Chain, get the tickets for gold CW armour or obtain the last Chompy Hat, yet if someone wants to get 99 Attack purely for the cape then they aren't 'doing it right'. Word to the wise, it's a game, if I wanted to waste my time buying and drinking 1000 glasses of beer in the Barbarian Village pub then it's my choice. Heck, you don't see anyone complaining if someone defeats Jad purely for the Fire Cape rather than because they enjoy the Fight Pits so why should skillcapes be any different?
  2. I suppose the drop in the amount of updates per month will bring about a rise in the quality of them, but I'm actually a bit disappointed by this. Sure you get 1 big update per month and then a smaller one, but what if you have no interest in the big update? Take this month for example, you've got PKing worlds, anyone who has zero interest in Pking like myself has basically got no updates (besides the normal holiday event) to look forward to this month. Coupled with Clan Wars being the "headline" update last month, and probably Moblising Armies next month, that's 3 months where anyone who isn't a Pker is just being tossed the months customary short quest. Same goes for if the big update for the month is Farming related and you hate Farming, you've just got a single quest for the month. With 3 per month the chances are there was always 2 updates that would at least mildly interest you.
  3. Good to see Jagex is doing something about it, it's not like anyone but manipulators would have any need for 100 sets of Bandos armour, 100 godswords or 100 sets of full Gilded anyway. Not even merchants would buy a large amount of them, because without the price manipulation they slightly decrease in cash on a daily basis.
  4. I think I'll pass on this quest, the exp rewards are not particularly useful and a lack of new items seals the deal. Storyline doesn't really mean anything either, I read what every NPC has to say but I don't particularly pay any attention to it.
  5. Yeah, it appears that yet again the Circus has reset itself without actually moving. Went and did my acts again, failed on 8 out of 10 casts on the Anvil in the Mage event and then missed nearly every spinning wheel shot on the Range event. At which point I was expecting a miserable result and yet another attempt without the Ringmaster Top. I don't know quite how, but I lucked out on the Agility and succeeded at every single juggle and backflip to reach a final score of 1480 and a shiny new Ringmaster Top.
  6. They are coming back, albeit slowly. Saw a default character at the fishing guild the other day harpoon fishing for Swordfish, he was about level 30 but had ridiculously erratic behavior. It was fine up until a fishing spot he was using changing from a Swordfish harpoon spot to a Shark harpoon spot, when that happened he kept running to the bank, then back to the fishing spot for about 2 seconds and back to the bank again. It went on for about 5 mins with him just running between the spot and the bank, not catching anything before he just logged out.
  7. Getting really sick of this circus now, in 4 attempts I've only had a single Ringmaster item where everyone else seems to be getting a full set with no issues at all. Even following each guide to the letter is useless, because it seems to be 98% luck based. Magic is just a complete loss, even at level 73 using a magic potion and full clown (with Ringmaster hat) I rarely hit more than 700 points, despite only failing about twice per performance. Range is irritating, because I keep getting about 20 points from a Ringmaster item despite only failing about once per performance. Agility is the worst of the lot, it's supposed to be so incredibly easy that even at level 50 you never fail. However at level 60 with an agility potion I fail at least 3 times per attempt.
  8. You could say the same thing about teleporting, "Oh well it's just being lazy, why don't you walk from Ardougne to Burgh De Rott?". Personally I hated every last second of having to run across the map collecting useless rubbish for a quest, especially considering there is nearly always someone else on the exact same world who has the item and will glady sell it to you. I don't find a ounce of fun making Sacred Oil for pyres, so why can't I just pay a large premium for getting them without making them myself? Same goes for the seller, why should I throw away a couple of Sacred Oils that are lying in my bank when there is someone who is willing to pay me 2k for them? I could spend 10 boring minutes making them myself for 100gp, or I could pay 1k and use that 10 mins to do something I enjoy, like Trouble Brewing, or finish quicker so I can turn the PC off earlier and do something else.
  9. If it were just an updated chain, why would it have been in the cache since long before the graphics update? Updating the look isn't a major event, they'd have just released it with HD (like the new Barrows and Khazard look) instead of creating a new Dragon Chainbody model to then replace it a few months later with something they've had stored for a year.
  10. Yep, I had intended to post that image as soon as I saw it, but considering the ridiculous flaming that was recieved for the one that the TC posted I didn't feel it was worth bothering with. There's no doubt it's a Dragon Platebody, it's blatently clear to anyone that isn't blind that the shoulders not only are bigger but they also have two small white prongs instead of one large white blob. As for that "but platebodies cover the arms" rubbish, neither the cache image or new banner show covered arms on the Dragon Platebody. Considering how it has now been shown in the banner and two update images, I think it's safe to assume that Jagex are dropping hints about it in prepartion for release either with a update coming soon, or with the big quest (which they said they'd be dropping hints about)
  11. You've gotta be kidding me, that isn't even the highest level shield! I dread to think what stats the Elysian and Divine shields will give. Does anyone else find it funny that the only GWD melee weapons are all two handed, yet Jagex keeps bringing out mind-bogglingly powerful shields? Years later and STILL the best one handed weapon is the Abyssal Whip.
  12. Wouldn't it be easier just to jump in the sal[bleep]er pool at Oo'glog and fill your invy up with Sharks/Tuna Potatos? May as well have infinite run energy and still be able to carry 27 one click, high healing food items.
  13. Blech, Construction and Summoning are already large money sinks and now we have to pay 15m for a freaking bottle of holy liquid just to prime the thing? Sorry, but for that price I'd rather buy a Dragonfire Shield.
  14. I fail to see how these shields can be better than a shield that is capable of frying your opponent. Considering the top one requires 85 smithing and 90 prayer to make, and then 70 prayer, 65 magic and 75 defence to equip and costs 85.3m according to the G.E, I should hope it is at LEAST 10 times better than a DFS.
  15. Holy moly, the new shields are on the G.E and their prices are insane. You can view them on the G.E ingame, but it says "This item cannot be currently traded on the Grand Exchange", however if you view them on Grand Exchange Database they show up. http://itemdb-rs.runescape.com/viewitem.ws?obj=13734 http://itemdb-rs.runescape.com/viewitem.ws?obj=13736 http://itemdb-rs.runescape.com/viewitem.ws?obj=13738 http://itemdb-rs.runescape.com/viewitem.ws?obj=13744 http://itemdb-rs.runescape.com/viewitem.ws?obj=13742 http://itemdb-rs.runescape.com/viewitem.ws?obj=13740 Notice the prices? 250k for Spirit Shield, 15.3m for Blessed Spirit Shield, 65.3m for Arcane Spirit Shield and Spectral Spirit Shield and 85.3m for Divine Spirit Shield and Elysion Spirit Shield!!
  16. For the first few months it was ok, you could generally pick up some useful bits of info on new updates quicker than on Tip It, since there were hundreds more people on there and most of them wanting to learn everything about an update as quickly as possible. Now, the RSOF is just a festering hole full of infantile teenagers with an inability to type, the reading age of a 2 year old and fingers that spew sewage onto the keyboard quicker than a clogged public toilet. It's a mystery how they even learnt how to breathe, let alone abuse a computer to such a degree.
  17. Nope, the link points correctly to classic.runescape.com so it should be an official page. It's probably the old page where RS Classic was located before they re-designed the website, either that or it's a dead link that never existed.
  18. Agreed, the beacon update didn't offer anything to revive the Firemaking skill. Firemaking doesn't need to be any faster, it needs to have a reason to level it up which beacons failed to do. Once you've done all the beacons there's no reason ever to do it again, it's not useful as an alternate way to train and it's not a fun minigame. Jagex should have lowered some of the tight restrictions (70 smithing?), made it into a multiplayer minigame and used the rewards system from Great Orb Project. You should have to be part of a team, with people cutting and running logs to the beacons while others make sure the fires stay lit. The amount of beacons lit and the period of time they are lit for would translate to points at the end of the minigame which would then be allocated between the players by the amount of contribution they made. Those points could then be spent on the 3 rewards we recieved, a set of clothing, various types of logs (including rare ones like Mahogany or various pyre logs), gnomish firelighters or fireworks. If the minigame were like that not only would it offer a fun way to train Firemaking, but it'd revive Vyre and Shade burning by making pyre logs easier to obtain and it'd allow firemakers to actually make money by allowing you to buy logs (including rare ones) with the points you earnt.
  19. To be fair, I just re-posted the link to an image someone already had posted in a different topic about the Dragon Platebody. The Tip It rules do need clarifying on the matter, they only specifically mention not to post images from toolkits and worldswitchers, plus I've seen cache images on the forum which have never been removed (there is one currently in the RS top banner changed topic). Anyway does anyone know what that floating blob of fire is in the enlarged image? Doesn't appear to be a spell animation, could just be a bit of scenery but since I've never been to Clan Wars I don't know.
  20. Does anyone know if the Audience clothing from the circus changes depending on the gender of the character wearing it (like the Frog Prince/Princess clothes), or is it seperate like Elegant clothing? I'm trying to get all the available Audience clothing, but I need to know if I'm going to have to use the Makeover Mage and obtain a whole set of them again, or if they are just one set that changes like Frog clothing.
  21. Well normally I'm incredibly poor at buying and selling items, but for some reason I've made numerous good predictions about when I should buy or sell something recently. I bought a Top Hat a few hours after the baldness glitch was fixed, and then I sold it for 1.4m one day before it started crashing. After that I then bought a Guthan's Helm and Whip for min a few hours before they started [bleep]ing again, then a couple of days later I bought Dragon Boots and an obsidian shield the day before they started [bleep]ing again. I also sold a White ele' Blouse about a week ago while it was stable, and now it's crashing. It's worked out quite well for me, because I've managed to make a huge saving on the armour and weaponry that I needed to buy anyway.
  22. Again, a case of the rich get richer, this time with added "and everyone else gets screwed in the resulting chaos". It's sad, the G.E was meant to bring about an end to price manipulation, instead it's just let the richest players control everything to a point where it's unwise to buy expensive items, lest you fall into the price manipulators trap. Seriously, what kind of sad person gets enjoyment out of watching everyone suffer as the items they have spent ages trying to aquire become worthless? They obviously already have more money than they'll ever need, so it's now just a fun game for them to see how badly they can screw people over.
  23. Sadly it's a byproduct of the ridiculous amount of abandonded RS accounts, and Jagex seemingly doing nothing about letting people change their usernames (seriously, how many years have they been saying they are working on a way to let people change their username when you e-mail them?). Pkers generally want a name that will intimidate everyone, skillers want a unqiue or funny name to stand out from the crowd, and main accounts usually have a bunch of numbers due to the person just wanting to play the game, instead of having to spend hours finding a good name that isn't being blocked up by an unused account from 2004. Personally I detest my main name so much that I refuse to give it out unless it's absolutely necessary, I just got so fed up of finding a decent name and started slapping random numbers at the end in the vain hope that I could actually just start playing the game instead of staring at the name creation menu. Chances are, a lot of Pkers have added numbers the same as other people so they can just into the game.
  24. Who on earth picked those quests to have a sequel to? For the storyline question there is great options like the Myreque, Elf and Fremmenik (which hopefully includes Moonclan) ones and then for the question about which quest you'd like to see a sequel to you've got a choice between a tutorial, some short boring quests with poor rewards and the most bloated, long winded and irritating quest Jagex ever released. Legacy of Seergaze, one of the various elf quests or Lunar Diplomacy should have been included in the quest sequel question, not freaking Learning the Ropes.
