“I had a feeling we weren’t coming back from this fight when it began.”

“Do you have any regrets?”

“I don’t. It seems surprising, I know, but I wouldn’t change a thing. This is how it was meant to be.”

“Huh, you never really notice how lovely the day is until you realize you’ll never see it again.”

“Mmmhmm.”

I don't really like the deflection theme, and the white background one kills your eyes.

From what I can tell, there's lots of planning that goes in before hand to figure out how to write code and what code to write.

Also, there's some system maintenance. That's stuff like taking care of physical machines, or working with remote systems, or linking together different systems, that kind of stuff.

But if you don't like reading and writing code, you shouldn't go into cs, because that's the fun part, and most of what you do.

I'll scrub until the damn thing comes off

Coding is basically manual labor. You follow the specification and then you'll have a good program.

The money is made in designing the spec. You have to balance so many things: feature requirements, user experience, development time, memory usage, computational complexity, flexibility, and expandability. If you aren't good at that, you won't be a very good software developer. That's why you pretty much have to get a degree in computer science. Self-taught programmers usually aren't great at that.
