Ok this might be long, i dont know...

Ok I work at Wendy's,and I usaly am the front chashier. Im always cool, and can deal with customers. But today was diffrent. (Im surprised i still have my job...). I was serving two customers at a time, and these three guys show up, and are standing in line. Well i have two already, and no one was really helping me, so I took quite awhile. Ontop of that Fries were on hold, and they had to wait. I didnt want to take the next order becuase that means three, and im already all mixed up enough with two orders. So finaly the fries are up, and they are gone, now to deal with the guys.

Right of the back, one of the guys says to me "Hey whats witht he slow service tonight". I just replied "It just took awhile, is this for here or to go?". And he says "Oh well customers dont need to be waiting around for half an hour (in reality probably less then 5 minutes, but when your waiting for fries, it seems longer)". "Is this for here or to go" I said.

He then placed their order. But the thing was, he was treating me as if i was stupid. "I want three singls, ok thats three, three singles. I want everything on them, plust tomatos, everything, thats everything". I was mad at this but i just kept it in. I asked if he also ment bacon (He said everything...), and he siad "No bacon costs extra, i ment the free poop (Dind acutly say poop). Everything that is free, including tomatos, ok, everything free plus tomatos, got it?!" i said fine (I was ok about the tomato thingy. We have singnes up about them). Well then he did the rest of the order this way, but it was an easy order. I went ahead and asked if "That is everything", and he said "Of course its everything, duh!". Well my blood was like boiling by the then. This was the rudist customer i have ever had. I then said the price.

(Now sometimes i screw up on saying the price, and i mix up the cents.) I ended up mixing up the cents of the price (I always second cheack it though, and say the proper one), but before i could second cheack it, he looks at the metter ,and says "No its not that, its blah blah blah" I said sorry and it was my mistake and i mumbled the real price (I really wanst trying to jip him or anything). He then says "You need to say the right price to me properly and clearly (meanwile he knows the price, and has seent he meter)." Well i lost it here and grabed the meeter part of the till and said " you can see it it dosent matter, it costs blah blah blah". he then argues back and gives me the money. I keep arguing while im counting his change, and then the tention got to the point where i just snaped on him. I threw the change down (Luckly i only had two coins in my hand), and slamed the door of the till. I forget what i screamed, but i screamed something, and then ran to the back of the store.

I woudl liek to know if this was sensible, and what others would do. Obviously i shouldnt of done it (As those of other fast food chains would know), but still, i couldnt hold my anger in anylonger.

I could have sworn that a fast food joint can refuse food to anyone... maybe that's restaraunts.

anyways, I would have just given him back the money and when he asks what the * are you doing, tell him go to another place where they can put up with all of your crap, and go for a next order.

Thats how people start spitting in food. Blah. Just don't mind them, some people like to play around with cashiers. I am sure he didn't actually mean what he said, he probably thought he was being funny.

It reminds me of Dane Cook's album Retaliation.

"He slammed the change on the counter. The nickel flew off...the dollar ripped in half and blew away in a breeze...the dime hit me in the eye."

That guy deserved more than just yelling... :P

No way the customer isn't always right. What if the customer demands his order free because his name is David? That's totally wrong.

If I started to get angry I would have said "one sec" and brought out my manager. If he wants to throw up an attitude with me, he can take it to my manager.. who can so as he/she pleases without rebuttal (to an extent).

At least this way I don't get in trouble with the higher ups.

I think you know better than to take it at face value, come on.

When you work as a cashier your job is to take the customers orders as well as to satisfy them. When I was a casheir at Eegee's, I would get a lot of flak from the customers for forgetting a discount here or there or having to tell them we're out of wheat bread. Sure I got pissed off, but I just had to deal with it and be professional with them.

Fake.would be hilarious if it was true though  .

Hardly.

I've seen fellow staff snap at customers before.

Some within very good reason aswell.

One day this guy came in with a "broken product" and he blamed us for its condition. Only problem was that it was obvious he'd put it together wrong in the first place.

That we tried to explain but he was still convinced it was our fault till the manager got involved and told him straight up that his inability to read simple instructions doesn't warrent a refund, he could however buy a replacement part.

Guy pretty much just gave up after that and left.

He is probably the best "worst" customer we've had. Some have almost hit staff :-?

That's why you should just make the burgers. :)

Since we're on the topic of wendys..one time i was with my friend i ordered and the guy was in a hurry, and he put my fry cup on my tray, but it was half on. So when i picked it up, the fries fell off and went all over the floor. I was so embarrased. But then some guy behind me bought me some more and brought them to my table, so i was happy 8)

Heres a tip: If he pisses you off, go back and tell the people to spit in the food. Its called karma my friend. :)

And just remember the main rule from "Waiting" the move:

The ultimate rule of all time: NEVER mess with the people that handle your food. EVER

mcchrissigaw8.gif

Everybody lovin' it, but ain't no body touchin' it

get your line manager, and he/she could probably either get that customer to stop being an [wagon], or chuck him out :P

The ultimate rule of all time: NEVER mess with the people that handle your food. EVER

This man speaks the truth.

Kirk and Lars I could handle. At the same time.

Please do not spit in the food.

You do realize you can refuse to serve him.

I used to work at Academy Sports and if a customer came in and lost his cool, I would flat out refuse to help him. I'd just pass him like a football to the managers, and they could kick him out of the store.

There's a difference when it comes to keeping your cool, or causing a health risk.

Your not doing anything illegal by not serving him, you have full right to it but i wouldnt recommend it.

If it was me I probably would have been deliberatly slow with him or be cheecky to him. I doubt I would've snapped.

As was said though he's pretty stupid to mess with people who are serving his food.

Yeah, exactly.

The situation sounds really frustrating and it reminds me why I'd be awful at that kind of job. :x But, yeah, unfortunately... you are providing a service and in these cases the customer is always right and you have to put up with the idiocy of people. Ugh, that sucks, sorry :(

Everybody hug and spread the love :D
