What aura should I get with 23k points?

Just a quick question: I hear inspiration aura actually restores your special attack meter by 0.5% instead of the supposed 0.2% the tooltip claims. I was wondering if anyone with the aura themselves' can confirm this. If it's true, it seems like a pretty viable choice for slayer.

Seeing as I don't boss hunt much besides a few Glacors here and there, should I spend my 23k points on inspiration? I imagine the special attack restore would be more useful for slayer than the health/prayer restore from vampyrism/penance.

Since you can get up to 3000 hits per hour (theoretically, with darts on rapid + claw specs to make up for lost ticks), you would restore up to 1500% special per hour, 750% if using rapier. Your base restore is 1200% per hour. Claws are under .5% overall dps boost when slaying with rapier/cannon iirc (let alone titan), so inspiration would be roughly on par with, say, steadfast boots over dragon or something.

That seems pretty insignificant... But what if I wasn't using a cannon or titan? Say, in Kuradal's Dungeon? I also don't have turmoil/bandos armor either.

Either way, I think my 23k points are better spent elsewhere. Anyone have suggestions?

If you don't have Bandos you should get that first, I'm 100% sure claws are worse an upgrade over Korasi's than strength-boosting item you can get, they may even be a downgrade. Read this.

Duely noted, thanks for the advice.

Now does anyone have a reccomendation on what aura to get? If anything, I'm interested in slayer and Glacors. What do?

I was under the impression that penance and vampyrism were only good for high level bosses since it's really easy to bank during slayer. Equilibrium is unconfirmed to work with stuff like ruby bolt specs the last I checked.

I would probably just save the points for random cosmetic things or for when they release new auras that actually might be super useful.

I like Equilibrium, because although it might not have an effect on the correct average assuming all hit values are equal, it makes your actual/perceived damage rate higher. It also has a slight bonus against monsters that you over hit because you can't over hit them by as much. I found equilibrium very fun at easy slayer monsters like gargoyles and greater demons.

Lol using food on infernal mages

I couldn't think of any other slayer tasks that were far from a bank :-|

I read somewhere that if you go to lumbridge swamp you can do the jack of all trades in 5 minutes.

That was recently in the DYK, but you can honestly do it faster with simply a teleport to varrock spell, a throw knife/hasta/javellin, and guards within the Varrock Castle.

In varrock or in edge, it can be completed in under a minute.

KS spec. KS controled hit. Pickpocket a man. Cut a tree. Burn a log. Cook a fish on said log. Fletch a bow with another log.

~50 seconds.

I usually do my JOAT during a farming run. I do herbs first (Farm, Herb and Agil xp from Trolllheim shortcut) then do a tree run starting in varrock (tele - Magic) doing my the rest of my JOAT while there (saves the needs for ranged and banking for a fish. I find this more efficient for me as it saves me having to make a trip especially for JOAT.

Okay, I already have JOT, and I know how to complete it quickly... Could we maybe get back on topic? I'm still open for suggestions.

I actually like equilibrium. It makes your actual hits closer to your average damage hit, so you hit a lot fewer low numbers, at the expense of a lower max. As far as I can tell though average dmg per hit is about the same.

Equilibrium is somewhat useful for slayer, depending on task and depending on your max hits.

Penance is one of the best auras at Nex. Comparable if not better than even Aegis.

Vampyrism is useful in all sorts of places. It's the most well rounded one imo.

This is why i love you guys.

OT:

I would advise to save your points until all the tier 4 auras are released. It's what i'm doing. Or wait until more extensive research is done on the more costly auras. On the whole, auras don't make much of a difference anyway. That's why i personally am waiting.
