Hmm.. Grim, i may try a Necron army, if that's possible. I don't know jack about this stuff, so if i fail horribly at it, then sorry.

Sure, give me a couple of seconds. Just fair warning though, necrons are pretty damn bad iirc.

Third post in.

8X size of Earth, proven.

It's just so damn big.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

Well, any suggestions? If not, then i'll stick with the Necrons, although i may need a little bit of an explaination at points.

Erm, lets see: There's always space marines (a decent codex that's new player friendly) orks (not the best codex but they're orks, you've got to love 'em) and possibly imperial guard (if you like throwing hordes of men to their certain death).

Give me a second or two I'm uploading the core rulebook right now and then I'll get to the chaos daemons and the marines.

EDIT: Do you want regular marines, space wolves or blood angels or any of the other variants that GW has produced (the regulars might be the easiest to learn though)

Yeah, it's probably a good idea. On a side note, here's the main 5e rule book and the chaos daemons codex

EDIT: Oh and @icu for your slaaneshi themed army I would advise to go heavy on the fast attack and elites and comparatively light on the troops. The only reason why I'm using so many bloodletters is that they each have a power sword so they are decent Hq/Elite killers.

Okay, First off everything costs a specific number of points. A space marine costs 16 points per model and a commander costs 75 points. You may purchase various upgrades for your units as specified in the codex with a certain number of points.

Secondly, each type of model is either a: HQ unit, or an elite unit, or a troop unit or a fast attack unit or a heavy support unit. You must have one HQ squad and two troop squads in your list as a base (anything else is optional).

Now you may notice that certain units as listed in the codex have a squad number attached. This is the minimum number of units that may be in a squad and the maximum number of units that may be in a squad.

For instance, when you look at the listing for the tactical squad you can see that you must take a minimum of 4 tactical space marines and a maximum of 9 (not including the sergeant).

An example squad would be:

Tactical marines x5- 70 points.

For clarification of how the stats of a unit affect gameplay

WS= Weapons skill (how likely you are to hit in assault)

BS= Ballistics skill (how accurate your shooting is)

S= Strength (How many wounds/the likelyhood to wound)

T= Toughness (A units ability to resist wounds)

W= Number of wounds (How many hits a unit can take)

I= Initiative (effects when a unit moves/fires/assaults)

A= Number of attacks per round (fairly self explanatory)

Ld= Leadership bonus (used for leadership tests)

Sv= Armor save (used for ability to resist wounding)

I would be willing to play on weekends. Would you happen to have the necessary codexes and rules for the Tau Empire?

Yep, Here's the 5e rulebook and the tau codex (note you need both the codex and the rulebook downloaded to play)
