Yeah, I don't want to play anything that would consume more of my time, what with school and such. :S

Wat. You play HnH!

Also I said in an earlier post to find out who's playing rather than just pick people, also we should consult Archi on the rules and such.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

I give that little charm only an hour, then people will realise it and it will be changed.

You mean the trick for earning cash? No, because gnome and werewolf clothing has always been in demand because of their collours, however there are some exceptions, with cream robe tops you can earn cash by buying in GE and selling at Grand Tree, they are 60gp at max price.

I don't think I'll be playing this time around. Maybe because I'm highly skeptical about coalitions or maybe it's because we basically decided against a similar game with this concept a few months ago. Will be looking forward to watching though.

I don't think that one can assume that everyone is playing a game if it pops up and seems somewhat interesting.

Which is why I said 'Put your hand up, say if you want to be President or not, then I will pick to Presidents, and then you can pick your teams playground style.'

And yeah, it seems pretty unlikely to occur, since we have no Dusty, Retech, Ross, Spork, Sere...

The whole point was to create a Hegemony like game, with a focus on playing as an individual, rather than the entire empire that spontanous celebrates your awesomeness.

Shame, I really like the concept...Once it had been proved to work we could've launched all kinds of offshoots.

*Retech, not as far as I can recollect...

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

It looks rather fun (we would all be in control of various factions of the same country correct?) and would actually force us to work together (other than to destroy try to destroy dusty). That being said, another option for a game (that I believe has been already proposed by someone other than myself) would be to have a nearly completely combat based campaign in which there is one to two goals for each player. After each engagement between a player and an NPC they could get a certain number of points worth of reinforcements (with bonuses to the victor) if any of their forces were still surviving. If you ask me this could work on a large scale (ie solar system/ group of stars) for a far future setting or you could go for something along the lines of mid to high fantasy (though it would be hard to balance magic without standardizing it out of the ass). In any case you could do a standardized list of units or each player could (with help from the mod [which may or may not take too much time to be worth it]) create their own army with points cost to be decided on a case by case basis. Just my two cents on the matter though.

Ex: Wood elf army

[hide]

Bow men- 30 points

Spear men- 45 points

Light cavalry-65 points

Dryads- 40 points

Nymphs- 45 points

Horse archers- 80 points

Sorcerers-200 points

Ents- 185 points

Lord/Lady of the hunt- 225 points

etc, etc

[/hide]

Or for the futuristic style

Army of the glorious Empire

[hide]

Penal infantry- 10 points

Irregulars- 25 points

Regulars- 40 points

Shock troopers (power armored, flak cannons, missile launchers ,etc.)- 100 points

APC- 70 points

ATWW (All Terrain War Walker)- 120 points

Light tank- 150 points

Medium tank- 180 points

Main battle tank- 200 points

etc, etc, etc,

[/hide]

Obviously there would be many more unit choices than those listed (and hopefully more fleshed/fluffed out than that) as well as upgrades for a certain amount of points as well.

Also, I would be very interested in playing another YOH retech.

After this week or so (research paper + midterms week), I will be having a week with essentially no school. If there's enough interest, I'll be creating a rehashed Ye Olde Hegemony, with many new features. Few of them include: fixing the economic system to include actual trade, balanced naval system, centers of trade, and stuff that I haven't thought of yet. Oh, and NPCs won't be pushovers.

So if you're interested and/or have any interesting ideas, please let me know. :)

Interested as well.

Also - Your NPC's werent pushovers, they actually attacked and such, but you just made them really weak for no reason XD.

Also, I'm thinking about removing pesky infrastructure penalties and economic things. Instead, it'll be a combination of war weariness and a few other factors (clearly people don't like it when their land is being pillaged by an enemy army). It'll be pretty intuitive after you can actually see it and test it out. So it doesn't happen just because you conquer an enemy country, but at the same time, the enemy country could still revolt on occasion until you establish a firm grip on it.

And the research system will primarily be attracting researchers to your country (they mainly start in the middle east). Technological advancements usually spread to the whole continent, but it's always an advantage to get the tech five or ten years before anyone else.
