Anyways, I would very much like to do a D&D campaign if Wyvren was at all willing. I would be perfectly fine with a pre-gen, though if we're playing Pathfinder an Alchemist or Summoner would be welcome. :)

Well, I do not currently anticipate running a D&D 3.5 campaign, as it is only barely ranked lower on on my list of RPGs that I do not really want to DM/GM out of those that I can. Really the only advantages to me running D&D 3.5 over Pathfinder is the fact that a rather large portion of the content is not availible for free (legally), so barring the Tavern going on a pirating spree I would have more material to work with, though that is almost entirely offset by the common balancing issues present in the game system which allow for powergaming to the extremes. (The other two items on my list besides Pathfinder and D&D 3.5 that I know how to run but dont want to are: a fan made Fallout PnP rpg which is a perfect example of what you should design a tabletop RPG to not be like; and D&D 4e because the game just is not interesting to me due to being designed for players to powergame constantly.)

We all know what it means, Lynx... None of us are five, and I think it would be a fair bet that at least two of the older Tavernites aren't virgins.

But yeah, Mather, my lack of banhammer does not prevent me from (metaphorically) going Hammerdin on you.

Oh now being a rules lawyer with the Tip.it rules is just wrong. <_<

Besides, by nature any hammer is a bludgeoning instrument, I can pretend to hit you with one all day regardless of rule violations. :P

...

You know, a few weeks of good sleep and the knowledge that you're no longer my responsibility has really improved my mood. You're a great guy, just infuriating to correct in any way.

Wyrven, I... I did mean Pathfinder, when I said 'D&D', you know. So barring a run of any edition or modified system of such, if I'm interpreting right, what WOULD you like to run?

Getting laid in a dream is suddenly not pethetic? Oh ok, right... Yeah...

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

Anyways, the cure was... *drumroll* ...getting laid in a dream.

Simple but effective (although very hard to achieve).

I was going to guess that, except in real life, so at least not completely off the target.

Ninja warrior. Only vaguely sports-related show that I've ever enjoyed

Channel 137, G4TV for me, watch it if at all possible.

Also if you do find it, it's not usually only female competitors. Apparently the channel's running some sort of special today, and they're weirder than the subject material.

Well, as I have mentioned before, with the current Attitude of the tavern towards those running games, I do not particularly want to run a game as its better than being Thrown out the window of a moving vehicle for suggesting anything against the goals of players, such as doing a barrel roll. To answer your question The two Game systems I would be most likely to run are Shadowrun and Savage Worlds (there are others, but there is no way I would image getting the Tavern to play them).

Oh.

So, should I go with a Goblin or Svirfneblin? The character I have in mind is a madcap Alchemist with a penchant for ridiculous traps and combat techniques. I'm inclined to go with Goblin because I'm already having trouble seeing him as a normal Gnome and Deep Gnome wouldn't really be better. Gnomes are obviously more powerful and well-suited to the roll of a brilliant, if eccentric, individual though.

EDIT: This was not in reply to Wyvren. I understand if he doesn't want to mod.

NOW in reply to Wyvren,

I for one would be willing to give up some degree of character privileges to make GMing bearable. Pregens and any such thing are fine, as is any degree of railroading. I just want to enjoy a game with my friends, if Retech can't find enjoyment in the party dynamic alone them we're one player short. Really he's the only one who WOULD play normally but disagrees with how it might be run.

I for one am fully behind the idea of Wyvern GMing, not presiding, over a game of DnD, with some nice pregens for a nice game.

I guess from my non-powergaming background I would suggest 4th Edition, though apparently that is even more powergamy (I don't know  )

At any rate, congrats Mather.

I think you are around 7 years behind me if this is your first dream of that nature...So let me be the first to welcome you to a seven year stint of not having dreams of that nature.

I believe I am considerably better for it, as dream of that nature lead to shocking revelations about your personality.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.
