Just out of curiosity, has anyone here seen Avatar: The Last Airbender? (animated series, not the movie).

Every episode except the last few; why?

On and off watching it.

on and off, like ICU. i liked it, but never had the time to wtach every ep.

not a bad idea. so we chose which benders we could be? such as fire, water, earth, air.

Powers were pretty cool, and it also would make sure people didn't do every element.

Dibs on sand.

Sand would probably only be contolled by a mildly powerful earth bender. Or by any air bender in a desert.

I didn't particularly like the Avatar anime. It all just seemed rather dull to me.

 

I know, lets base a Dungeoneering game of Gurren Lagann. Complete with 10 million lightyear tall robots throwing galaxies like shuriken.

 

Wait, no, that would be too awesome.

 

In all honesty, there are better setting to base Dungeoneering games off of.

Interesting. I love the series, but I would probably prefer sticking to it as it ended. I want to kill the one who made the movie...

Good. I know the name, now I just need the address... and some money for weapons...

I don't understand. It seems like regular "western" style magic, except instead of people having pointy hats, they're just bald.

 

EDIT: And the elements seem restricted AND the people make funny exaggerated motions when they do anything.

Actually, Retech, there's a lot of strategy with each element. And each form of bending is focused on a specific martial arts form, with specific individuals occasionally having their own styles. Something to do with the flow of energy, same as in martial arts (though it's a good deal more literal in bending). The most flexible element is water, because it incorporates manipulation of any liquid as well as different states of water. Bloodbending is even possible, though apparently extremely difficult and taboo. It's speculated that only three or four people in the series are potential bloodbenders.

 

And Rocco, metalbending is possible, just not by anyone in the series except Toph. Because she's awesome.

Bloodbending? That sounds like my kinda thing. :thumbup:

Yeah, bloodbending wasn't well done in the show. I'm reminded of the "blood control" in Doctor Who where, even though you controlled a person's body, you couldn't kill them with the same method because of human survival instinct.

 

I don't think anyone could or should be a bloodbender if you make this game. It would just be confusing for the players and unrealistic in the game world.

The closest you can actually get is waterbending, and even then you'd need to be good and actually have a high water level in their body at the time, though you could always make them drink some of your water.

 

Airbending could be useful, air in deep wound, probably cause a fatal injury, put too much air in their lungs, lungs burst.

Who said I was making the game? If anything, I would return to a Dungeoneering style game, but I think my time for modding has passed. I haven't watched the show either.

i would play it. it sounds fun, really.

I've watched every episode and watch the 'extras' reruns every night almost. Im up for this. I'd be a waterbender or firebender, not sure which though.

I had this idea for a new dungeoneering, where the focus wouldn't be on magic (though it would be a viable option). That can always wait though. :thumbup:

Now now, ppl are quite capable of doing multiple RPs at once, just too lazy :P
