Pinata
Sorry if this is wrong forum but I've been informed of the stats of the Auspicious Katana +132 slash+132 strength+80 crush Now Ik anyone can edit the rs wiki (jagex wiki), but if you go to revision history, this was placed in by mod michelle. According to rs wikia (non-jagex wiki) it has the speed interval 2.4secs, same stats as godsword but speed of the rapier. Don't believe me? http://services.runescape.com/m=rswiki/en/Auspicious_Katana Revision historyhttp://services.runescape.com/m=rswiki/en/Special:History?topic=Auspicious_Katana If people can post as Mod Michelle or stats get changed feel free to lock the thread. Just thought people should see this. Saradomin_Mage
Chances are Mod Michelle got them wrong herself. Sounds totally broken if it was 4 ticks. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
Octarine
2.4 seconds is the default attack speed on rswikia (it being the "standard" attack speed ingame) so I assume that just wasn't changed.Likely has godsword speed and is just a duplicate of those, but without a special that just makes it more useless :P Blog of DG, Bossing (mostly Glacors) and stuff - Runetrack Play Safe! - Got useful information for the tip.it website? Blutters
Hardly just "cosmetic" if that's the case, but I'm leaning towards the above - a Godsword clone. I suppose it hardly matters if it's purely cosmetic or not, since you can get Godswords from the same source anyway lol...
Saradomin_Mage
Likely has godsword speed and is just a duplicate of those, but without a special that just makes it more useless :PI hadn't considered that. Godswords are pretty terrible without their special attacks, aren't they :PJagex's balancing might have made the Katana faster if that's the case ... sohkmj1
They removed the attack speed, apparently. Seems like it was wrong (I can't find any mention of an attack speed on the page anymore).

(Although a slashing motion would obviously deal crush damage, so it's dumb they even gave the slash option.) As for the katana, i refuse to believe it's that powerful. Godsword stats and speed is plausible but being more powerful than a rapier isn't.
Hedgehog
Doesn't really matter if its high dps, considering it's rarity (unless its more common Than it appears).

Godsword stats and speed is plausible but being more powerful than a rapier isn't.A katana usually has a flat pommel (if I'm using that correctly) and the sides of the blade are flat. I don't see why it's so hard to visualize. I'm not saying it'd be effective, but the option IS there. You really only need a blunt area to "crush" with something.Admittedly, it'd have been a better idea just to make katanas a new weapon type that's identical to current 2h swords but replacing crush with stab... But it seems like they're intent on making them a few special weapons scattered about.
Pinata
QFC: 15-16-611-63600894 Mod Emilee comfirmed same speed as godsword so I suppose this thread can be locked now unless people still want to discuss how swords work or something. There maybe a hidden special, if not just a dull godsword. stonewall337
Had one on my spin today and just barely missed it. :( No you didn't just miss it. The wheel is just a gimmick, where it landed is not related to what item you get. Or rather, the item isn't decided by the wheel, the wheel simply shows what item you won. Quyneax
You really only need a blunt area to "crush" with something. The contact area mustn't be too large. A blunt sword can't put enough force in one place to break a bone or punch through platemail, also because swords are a bit more delicate than hammer heads - they'd probably chip or fracture under the stress of hammering metal armour. In 'proper' swordfighting versus an opponent in platemail, you would either stab where two plates meet (the reason there are weapons like estocs and rapiers) or use the pommel and crossguard as a mace. But katanas don't have a good crossguard for that. I agree, it sounds likely they're modeling it off a nodachi. You know who else uses a nodachi? The Goddamned Hakumen. He can be demonstrating the nodachi's blunt fore by using it to bounce off of his vitcim like a goddamn pogo stick. However, I have my doubts when it comes to Blazblue's historical accuracy.
