woopidoo2
I've used K in place of 000 in a math exam once. I had to spend another 5 minutes trying to explain to my teacher what I'd done and what it all meant :-?haha  but expcially because i live in holland, thats even more strange... [http://woopidoo2.deviantart.com][Tip.it Moderator from Dec 10, 2006 to 03 Sep, 2008]
Oy_the_Great
Yeah, at my youthclub we use 'noob' from time to time, but just to have a laugh, it's pathetic if you want to insult some1 by saying that. RS got me saying lol irl as well, probably their biggest achievement ever. I've used K in place of 000 in a math exam once. I had to spend another 5 minutes trying to explain to my teacher what I'd done and what it all meant :-? Lol I do that too when I'm making excercices while studying, but I'm smart enough not to do that on an exam ;) Bill Hicks[/url]":dhj2kan9]Since the one thing we can say about fundamental matter is, that it is vibrating. Like, kilobytes, kilograms, and so on...The only 'official' unit that K applies to is Kelvin, and a unit in physic iirc. Kilograms and Kilobytes and Kg and Kb, respectively. And in my case it was neither to do with temperature or physics. I simply just used it to express 'thousands'.
Oy_the_Great
Yeah well 'kilo' is Greek for something that's in thousands. ice_ring
I successfully added "pwn" and "pwned" to our school's vocabulary with the help of a few of my friends. We just started saying it in class every day and explaining to everyone what it meant. Now two weeks later it has rooted itself in daily conversation. Example: preppy girl: hey did you see the basketball game last night? preppy girl #2 : no, what happened? preppy girl: the girls won, but the boys got pwned. me : wtf?! lol

sonicwave42
Does anyone have so many kids at their school say noob as an insult in real life? At my school like 3 out of 5 people play either runescape or WoW or some other mmorpg and they all say noob or owned in everyday talk. Im not talking about nerds im talking about everyone. Is anyones school like mine? Nope, we're all too "cool" for that at my school. We just call each other fat.

stan18
a good portion of internet slang is derived from phrases used in real life I know one real high level player that plays runescape irl, and we talk in internet slang a lot, but we have a lot of cs and halo players in our school, mainly asian(i'm asian so i hang with em), who understand what i mean when i use slang

assassin_696
There's a clique at my school who spend all their time in the IT labs playing unreal tournament or something, on a special row of computers where it's hard to be seen by the technicians. They speak like that. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"

Greatsilverwyrm
I refer to my kids as the noobs, or nooblets... in a loving fatherly joking manner of course. Aww.. The people I hang out around use owned and etc. a lot, but we're all computer nerds, so.. I don't think I've ever heard too many non-nerdy folk saying it, except one or two guys I know who are really into Halo.
hurl
It's actually kinda funny at my school. About 1/4 of the seniors are nerds and they use insults like noob, and half the juniors are jocks who end up kicking the seniors' [wagon]. I wonder if it's like that anywhere else. 123 Combat / 1900 Skill Total / 99 HP / 7x 99 Stats
