April 14, 201214 yr I can't stand how they always take the fun away by getting in the way and taking my kills. I know that they should at least go to one of the worlds that have very few people. Going to be Stalking my Prey from the Shadows
April 14, 201214 yr Or you could have the correct opinion, and you know, wish they weren't around at all? I don't want them crashing me, keep them. :P [hide=Stats] [/hide]
April 15, 201214 yr They definitely are a problem. I went to revs the other day and passed through the green dragon area.. there must've been at least 15 bots just standing there. I think jagex is working on some bot nuke 2.0, so hopefully that'll fix it up a bit!
April 15, 201214 yr I only hate them because they decrease the prices of items. But Jagex is hopefully coming out with a fix for this, Optimus or something like that?
April 15, 201214 yr There is one thing I need to say. Just because someone doesn't reply to what you say to them doesn't mean they're bots, they can also have their chat off. This is weird, I fight monsters a lot in RuneScape, and have never experienced a problem with bots. But let me ask, how do you know they're bots and not just some people with chat off?

April 16, 201214 yr Author There is one thing I need to say. Just because someone doesn't reply to what you say to them doesn't mean they're bots, they can also have their chat off. This is weird, I fight monsters a lot in RuneScape, and have never experienced a problem with bots. But let me ask, how do you know they're bots and not just some people with chat off? Well a great way to tell they are bots what you wanna do is just watch them if you get bored they follow the same path most of the time. You can say stuff like your inventory is full (Like it says when you are full) like when you are wood-cutting and they will go bank. They also will move back and forth if you attack them in Wilderness. Playing for 7 years is helpful. :P I do one day of player killing and I see one every 2 minutes... Hope that answers your question somewhat. Going to be Stalking my Prey from the Shadows

There are multiple skills that require repetition in movement ;) [hide]unbinding green's kidneys for ltk's heartdo you farm guam like me sir ltk[/hide]
April 17, 201214 yr Bots are eternal. Jagex will never get rid of all the bots. It's impossible. /thread. 99 cooking: 10/24/10

April 17, 201214 yr You're all correct in a way. Bots ruin the game, bring prices down the tubes, and cause overall anger altogether. It doesn't matter where you are, there seems to be at least one bot in the area. Like yesterday, I had a slayer task of dust devils which i doing down in the Chaos Tunnels. I rarely see one bot there, but doing this, i saw not one, not two, but THREE DAMN BOTS at the black demon area at one time. Its worse at Taverly Dungeon. Blue dragons and black demons have more bots in the areas than eggs in a carton. I did a task of black demons with multicannon + blood/ice spells. I started off with 2000 cannonballs and 300 blood/ice blitzes. By the time i was exhausted of resources, my task STILL WAS NOT DONE! I would personally like to strip all bots back to basics. What do you all say about that? I'd like to see them recover from it! Truthful to the end
April 17, 201214 yr Author Well, you really can't completely get rid of them. But I do agree with your statement. I mostly do not like the one's at dragons. Going to be Stalking my Prey from the Shadows
April 19, 201214 yr Author Bots make prices drop, well I think runescape thinks that will stop them, but that just makes more. Going to be Stalking my Prey from the Shadows
April 19, 201214 yr pretty annoying when I start fishing monks and the price for them drops like 200gp ish Click it please :)
April 20, 201214 yr pretty annoying when I start fishing monks and the price for them drops like 200gp ishI think the problem is that you're fishing monks.
April 21, 201214 yr It's convenient for me atm as I'm trying prayer but it is annoying as I normally make my cash of dragons or fishing. The one upside for me is greatly outnumbered by the many downsides. They're just not fair on legit players and I can't wait for another bot nuke. Invest in fish and dbones and fish now!
April 21, 201214 yr Author I've lost 11m off my Bandos Chestplate because of them. Going to be Stalking my Prey from the Shadows
April 21, 201214 yr Alright, I'm convinced that I'm about the only one who is not having problems with bots. And I'm a guy who fights monsters A LOT, and I really mean a lot. When I fight monsters, I can always fight them no problem. But I still think it's not easy to tell whether someone is a bot or a legitimate player. Because like someone else pointed out, there are plenty of skills that require you to do the same things over and over again, and just because someone is doing that for hours doesn't mean they're bots, more likely it means that person has a lot of free time on their hands.
April 21, 201214 yr True Blaze. Very true. But sometimes, its so obvious, its hard to tell when they're not a bot! Typical bot setup at dragons of any kind:Abyssal whipGranite bodyDragon platelegsAnti-dragon shieldInventory consists of lobsters and usually a teletab. And honestly, how many times have you seen a bot NOT follow this guideline. You see it so many times, your mind automatically goes: "****, bot" Typical setup for a bot doing runecrafting runs:Staff of any kindHunter pet Need i go on? Truthful to the end
April 22, 201214 yr okay then. Also, we have red chin bots. In those few worlds where each part of each spot isn't infested with several bots, here's what they do:Lay all traps in a lineDismantle + setup NOTE: modern versions of this bot will not lose traps, sadly. So you just start an area of fires and maintain it. Each and every hunter will then stand still in the fire, unable to place the trap. It will not move to a free spot. Do you surely think it's a player? In more infested worlds, they will be placing traps wherever possible. However, if you time to light a fire just in time, they will lose a box trap and never pick it up. They have full inventories of traps, but if you exhaust them, they will stand and do nothing (there are bots with lunar that use the kit spell, those are harder to push off). Obvious bot is obvious. Just I've never seen any of them get banned (even though I made reports day after day). My theory is that member bots are classified as "courageous" and are not banned while they provide cash flow. On the other hand, 6mo/12mo prepaid time may get them banned instantly. R.I.P. oO000oO0oO00, RS2 range pure transformed to a maxed PvM char in EoC, ten years of time completely wasted.Good to be gone :)
April 24, 201214 yr Author Wow, thanks for the tips... Makes sense I guess. Going to be Stalking my Prey from the Shadows
April 25, 201214 yr Bottom line is shadow, bots are a disease that has infected RS worldwide. No matter where you are or how few players are on the world a bot or two is among themThey reduce the fun of all activities and send prices down the tubes in a handbasket. They are the reason spectral shields are priced where they are instead of where they should be.Now, granted, I have not seen them do major deeds, like at GWD, but I'm sure they'll be a day when I log on, go to GWD and see 3-4 bots puting the kiting strategy on Commander Zilyana. It will be a sad day. Truthful to the end
