Return of the Gods

Featured Replies

While looking at the runescape forums (yeah I do that form time to time aware I will eventually get disappointed) I found this gem. I'm sure this isn't something too juicy or big, but it odes shed some light on a very vast runescape plot line that I think the community itself have probably been screaming louder for than maybe even the Ritual of the Majharrat. I have dubbed it the Return of the Gods because thats what it is all about. Currently I cannot express much more because I have to get ready, but read on:

Can't say I'm surprised, however I'm not expecting the final conclusion to happen any time soon. I wouldn't be surprised if the final quest will be released in 2020, if even then.

I wonder what will happen with the Edicts of Guthix....

Bit I found interesting was:

'We know very well that we want to bring the gods back into RuneScape, which we're doing at the moment, so what we do is bring them together into a big trigger quest, and that feeds into the next 15-20 quests. We have this package of determined updates, and things we're going to do over that period.'

Sounds very much like they already have this big momentous quest planned out along with the 'package' of following updates, so may be sooner than we think.

Would imagine Azzandra/Zaros thing is going to be a leading edge to the story; but having said that most stories are reaching that point.

Elf climax probably needs Seren.

Goblin story already saw Bandos making efforts to return.

Monkey's is sort of leading to a Mambo (sp?) reveal.

The Myreque (sort of) plus clan citadels and stuff is building up Armadyl lore with the Icyene and stuff.

The whole Guthix Edicts Zamorak and Saradominist breaking the Salve thing implies a return there for Zammy and Sara

The Desert quests has seen some of the pantehon around and is restoring more of them.

And if that all happens Guthix is bound to wake up and be like WTF?

Dragonkin awakening and the Stone of Jas use could also be stirring up godly energies.

Daemonheim could be leading to a godly portal.

Of course, that's not everything that Jagex are working on for Runescape. They've got an average of 20 content projects - Mark indicated to me that it was currently 25. Of these only, a few are talked about at any one time, presumably because some of them will never see the light of Day. Adam Tuckwell, the PR Manager for Jagex, took us through some of them. "Once the RuneScape combat update has been fully launched we will be turning our attention towards another game changing expansion which will be announced soon. In the meantime, we will soon be releasing Player-owned Ports, where players can build their own port to attract sea captains, crew and treasures. We are also working on a new, yet unannounced skill, which will be added to the game next year." On top of that, they're attempting to make Runescape more social, so that players find it easier to use a chat room and to stay in touch with their friends.

Zaros will return.

Didn't Mark say that Summoning is being completely reworked as well after the EoC?

He did but what does this have to do with the gods returning?

I'm looking forward to the gods returning. It'd be interesting to see which gods are the ones to return, mind. I'd like to learn more about the other desert gods before all the others return as well.

did anyone notice the ZAROS symbol in the Gielinor Games arena? It's there, all you have to do is look around in the lower places in any of them

Life is hard. It's harder if you're stupid.

A bit more description would be helpful seeing as we have 3 entirely independent areas for the games and 'lower places' is hardly a clear description. Do you mean in the rocks at the undersides of the island? Somewhere in the sky boxes? Down the bottom of the hill in cheeserolling?

Ah, this wasn't always the case. I hope this means after EoC is done we'll be greeted with an onslaught of good quests. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed by the microtransaction-only update (with more likely to come).

I remember the days when no one knew anything about the gods. Saradomin and Zamarok were dominant in people's minds just because they're names were in more places. Then Guthix started getting some more mention... and now we got this whole pantheon and I have no idea where everyone fits, but I like where multiple questlines have been going so I'm looking forward to it.
