Blue dragons

On my quest to increase my mastery of the slaying of beasts, I was given an arduous task. The task of killing a few of the mighty blue dragons.

Now, on a tangent quest, I was given a powerful crystal bow. This bow is so powerful, it requires both of my hands to shoot it. See, this becomes a problem now. The awesome blue dragons are weak to my powerful bow, but they also have a powerful, smelly breath. I may be a brave adventurer (or so Im always told) but I cannot hope to withstand the smelliness of their breath without an anti-dragonfire shield. And since I need this shield, I cant use my awesome bow. I know there is a potion to solve my problem, but I am a rather poor adventurer, and cannot afford to learn how to make this potion.

What are my current options to deal with this conundrum?

I haven't used antifire potions at blues in a looooooong time, but I also have soulsplit. Maybe try using regular antifires and a bunyip/uni. Maybe bring a few pieces of food just in case.

Super antifires are your friends... Or you could just use dragonbane bolts, which ALL dragons are weak against... Besides, the arrow weakness is just their specific weakness, they are still weak to range overall (have in mind that this doesn't necessarily apply to all monsters).

While this sounds nice, a personal goal of mine for the EoC is to do all my slaying according to specific monster weaknesses

Maybe you could try using a Shield bow with Dragonbane arrows and using Resonance and the other ability which I cannot remember the name? (One is a basic that heals you for the next attack done in 6 seconds, the other is for every hit you do in 10 seconds, it reduces the CD of the healing ability by 3s).

Sadly, without super antifire, dragon task are painful. If none of the suggestions work then you might find yourself blocking dragon task until you get 80 herblore (Hopeful +5 spicy stew boost).

Sagaie + antifire shield should work as a viable alternative, just that they'll be slightly less accurate.

If protect magic and regular antifires together don't work you might want to cancel the task if you're deadset on using a bow.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

I only got hit maybe 5 times w/ dragon fire on my black dragon task. I used a crystal bow until I had to swap to a black salamander. I used protect magic because they did start to damage me a fair amount (soul split couldn't heal me enough) . Oddly enough, (or perhaps a coincidence?) I only got hit when I wasn't praying. If they hit you often, just try praying and normal anti fires. They can't be impossible to kill.

And as a note, I tried dual wield crossbows w/dragon bane bolts first. Kills took a fair amount longer.

Ive been doing alot of black dragons to test get the feel of the eoc since then update. I usually have to do 2-3 kills w/o superantifire because i dont want to drink a new dose for the last couple kills. I survive pretty well using ss combined with a unicorn and useing some defensive auras.
