Went to Bandos today. Crashed a couple people (including teams) and ended up getting 3 drops. So, if we can come up with a funny, and fair, way to distribute prizes, I'll have a Bond or two for the winner.

So I did another 2 overload trip today. Don't ask what happened to my scrimshaw... I had an unused superior when I went down. =/.

 

The "Shoulda taken it. =P." is to a friend. He was currently soloing TDs and I gave him a deal. If I got limbs, I'd give them to him. If he got them, he'd give them to me. He declined. :P.

 

So, I don't think I've had a single dry trip in months. >.<. If we can come up with a fun/fair competition, I'll sell these limbs for bonds and give them out! :D. If you can think of something, post!

I should do Tormented demons more often.

Dragon limbs drop seemed common enough that it's probably a better use of my time compared to killing Glacors, Automatons or Frost dragons.

Too bad they're not 78m each anymore, though; that was epic.

Kind of pvm related, but add gear requirements (Godsword and SoL?) to stop t90prods winning, and you're set.

I don't remember if I mentioned, but they laid off our supervisor, Karen, a while back. We had 4 groups of 2, so 8 people in total. She was our 9th. She'd stand there, for 8.5 hours a day, organizing the teams, arranging which parts would go where, doing paperwork, printing labels, yelling at us when needed, etc. She didn't inspect parts.

 

Well, we could easily handle all of that between the 8 people there. So Kandy took up the paperwork and arranging the parts, Luis and I handled the rest. Our production actually increased despite having no supervisor. I think it may be because we were more comfortable. If we needed an extra 5 minutes for break, we took it, for example.

 

Well, Kandy's tired of the paperwork and having to deal directly with our CEO and quality manager. In short, the one's an idiot and the other simply doesn't communicate. The paperwork being almost entirely math, I signed up. This was some time ago when I said I would - but I started small training today for supervisor duties. Though, I won't be like Karen; I'll continue to inspect, just with a lot of extra duties and more hours.

 

I figure I'm at work anyways. I don't give a damn what job I'm doing, I'm there to work. 8.5 hours doing this is the same as 8.5 hours doing that. With the bonus of more hours and higher pay, I'm pretty happy with it. Plus, I do much better when put in charge; I'm not a follower.

 

Working at SELECT with my old man is still a possibility and very likely. However, it's just pushed back. Odds are it'll still happen before Christmas. But, if I can put Quality Assurance Supervisor on my resume, I'll be happy. Despite what people think, we're not the people that sit on a stool staring at parts as they go by on a conveyor-belt. It's much different; thank God, or I'd shoot myself.

Are they giving you a raise for that though? You're taking on the added risk of a supervisor role - they're always the first to get laid off. :(

:D. Supervisor got laid off because she wasn't needed. She didn't inspect parts and simply stood there wasting time for 8.5 hours. She was the odd (wom)man out, I suppose. ^^.

making mad bills

So... Stuck in a pickle. Just started supervisor training and Brittney applies for another company and gets in the very same day. So today, Brittney won't be working with us... :(.

 

So Luis and I figure, "WTH, let's try." So, we apply. We asked how much they'd be willing to pay. Their starting pay will be $1.50 higher then what I'm making now. Then, it'll be bumped up to $3.50 more after 40 days, then $6.50 after 90 days.

 

If I accept, I'll be starting tomorrow. It'll be swing shifts, instead of this steady afternoons shit. I really want it (to work with Brittney and Luis), but my family's telling me to think about it (because I love the job I have now). I only have until tonight to think about it! Lol.

Well factor in the hours/money ratio, obviously. Also, it isn't like you'll never see them again... The way I think of my situation right now...

 

I'm in a community college honors program that's regarded very well throughout the US.

Most of my friends left and are at other universities.

I made new friends, but miss my old ones very much.

I'm still going to see them, some more frequently than others.

Most are on 4 year degrees and will be out of college given they pass :P

I'm going to be in like 12 years of Medical school grinding my [cabbage] off while most of my friends will be doing whatever their profession is

Eventually we'll all hang a lot more often given me live in the same areas again...

Are TDs even fun? They seem too annoying to get to, gear switch is annoying on top if prayer switching and drops aren't too grear unless I get dragon crossbow limbs.

Limbs drop often enough to make it worth it. The gear switching becomes reflex, prayer only drops if you're distracted, etc. As for annoying to get to, it takes 1:30 to get to. o_O.

Well, for the first time since I started this job, I'm livid.

 

Our current setup:

Team 1:

Well, yesterday we had alot of parts to go through - customer had a big order. So no problem - you'd think we'd split it 33%-33%-33% (3 groups), right? Well, we only put out 13 skids. That's terrible. But, Luis and I were 6.5 of those. Meaning, We did half of the parts yesterday between 3 groups.

 

No problem, it was a little annoying. So we [bleep]ed about it today when we showed up. The order for today, 18 skids. This should be no problem. Each team can easily put out 6 skids each. So Luis and I set everyone up to go and away we went.

 

Our team put out 7. Yeah we were taking our time, but we got out more then what we, in all fairness, should have. We, as a whole, didn't complete our order of 18.

 

The shipping manager and QA have the balls to personally call me aside and chew me out and blame me and my team for "bottlenecking" and going too slow for the past 2 days. Bottlenecking is where you're not sure if you have enough parts for a full 8 hours, so you slow down near the end to make sure you do.

 

So, safe to say I flipped - told them if they're gonna chew someone out, it should be the people not doing their [bleep]ing job. I'm going to be doing one of two things tomorrow. I'm either going to take the rest of the week off unless they personally call and kiss my ass, or I'm going to go in and rip them a new one until they walk away with their tail between their legs.

 

4.5-5 skids per team was average before Luis and I showed up. Now they have the audacity to pull me aside and blame me, the fastest [bleep]ing QA/and supervisor, for not picking up everyone elses' slack when we put out 7.
