AHK can sometimes be flagged if it's not randomized, no? I took it to mean that he was using AHK but not that he was using 'illegal' scripts.

Doesn't have to be randomized in order to get flagged, several max players have used AHK within the past 2 months and gotten perm banned/rollbacked.

I have equally reputable sources that say the ban was probably for a different reason.

Well clearly your sources are not as good as you thought they were because he was not botting or using AHK. And why call him an idiot when you know nothing about him. You are making the assumption he botted and then publicly shaming him. If anything, you are the one being idiotic.

 

Atticusbird and g0d both had their accounts banned over the weekend, and as soon as the Monday started in England they had their accounts returned to them with no experience pulled back. They were accidentally picked up by the system (which does happen it's not perfect yet) yet you publicly shamed them both incorrectly. And then you go on saying that you have 'sources' and refuse to admit you are wrong.

 

This thread has no value anymore, as we have already established that there were a considerable number of high level players who were conflicting with the rules of the game. Updating this thread each time you find someone who had their stats reset is you glory seeking. It's pathetic.

can i have ur resourses?:) jagex can check all ur mouse movements in my all live used just mouse keys witch1 is 1input 1output and for ovls double click , well ofc auto talker like in 2k5>.>

Lyra Belacqa the lastest top player to be falsely banned. And I and a couple of hundred others can say with absolute certainty that this was a false ban.

 

This is getting so ridiculous...

 

I have absolute 0 confidence in anything Botwatch has done to higher levelled players now.

Lyra is unbanned now. Apparently Pieter and a few other high xp players were also banned wrongly at the same time.

 

I'd be careful at activities like Artisan's workshop or Dwarf traders atm, because there's something really wrong with Botwatch (or whatever system is doing the false bans.)

In my opinion they should just make using AHK against the game rules. Even if you are there behind your desk spamming few buttons in a pattern for hours it doesn't really strike me as being fair towards everyone who play using their mouse like the game was intended. If they really wanted you to be able to automatise as many actions as possible they would offer it within the game. Atleast we wouldn't see people getting banned because of botlike behaviour...

None of the recent false bans were due to AHK. Not sure if your post was just about AHK in general, but just saying :P

Buddhism (2.3B oa xp) is the latest player to be falsely banned. I'm assuming falsely right now, because so many 1.5B+ xp players have been banned wrongly and promptly unbanned in the last couple of days that I have 0 faith in the system anymore.

Also @Ring world G0d did not get banned for AHK, neither did Lyra, Atticus Bird, Pieter, Tiistai and Buddhism.

 

This is just the system [bleep]ing up. Lyra and the others have received apology emails and reimbursement.

 

Lyra was doing artisans - no use of AHK or any mousekeys, just natural mouse movements.

Tiistai was doing C2 - no use of AHK or any mousekeys, just natural mouse movements.

G0d was doing fletching with broads - no use of Ahk or mousekeys, just natural mouse movements.

Buddhism was doing thieving - if this was at dwarf traders, maybe you can see why.

Pieter was fishing doing idk what method so no comment.

Atticus bird was superheat mining - no mousekeys or AHK used because of EoC dropping.

 

Most of them were not using AHK or mousekeys at all as it gives 0 benefit to the skills they were training.

 

Either way, if the system can't differentiate between a bot and the use of mousekeys, it is messed up.

How the system works is you report a player for botting.

 

It then tracks that players movement patterns and everyone elses like it.

 

Everything from mouse movement patterns, failure patterns, etc. then groups those players together as then gives a Jagex employee an option to examine the evidence and ban. So lets say there was a bot that cooks fish as rogues den. A player reports that bot, and a lot of players were using that bot script/client. It would start to notice that they may mess up banking in the same way, maybe deposit 1 fish. A Jagex employee sees a small group of players bank fish, take out an inventory of fish and try and hover over the x to close the bank tab, then after a few seconds deposit a fish and try again. That Jagex employee sees the data that bot watched collected and decides that it would be odd for a group of legitimate players to have that behavior so he hits the ban button. Thats how the system works.

 

It collects lots of information and then a Jagex employee checks over to see if that information is enough to suggest that they are using a bot and if they feel that it is they can hit the ban button on that group. The mouse movement information is a powerful tool that gets mousekey/AHK users as a false positive currently.

 

Again the system works great its just the certain Jagex employees used improper judgement to ban groups. The event where half the playerbase got banned was probably a result of trying to have bot watch automatically ban players.

 

The system does not work great when it clearly does not give Jagex employees accurate enough information for them to make the correct decision. Consider that these players have been banned in several different parts of the game, doing different skills which are trained with completely different mouse movements - this must have been the result of several incorrect decisions, not just one.

 

Either the system is not giving good information, or the Jagex Mods are doing a poor job of interpreting that information.

 

Either way, there is a large problem with the anti bot system as a whole.

Feel free to explain your theory in more detail and I'll ask him again, as I find it quite interesting. He did mention that it hasn't been turned on for all bots yet, and that it all sort of links together.

 

We differ then in that I don't think that banning high levelled players - with the permanent suspicion some players will have against those accounts now, despite the unban - is worth it. They should not have released something so flawed into the live game. It should have gone through several new builds if it is still in such a primitive state before it was fit for the game.
