June 24, 201313 yr Had the offer not filled, he would have had to pay 6.5b. Instead, he got it for 2.1b. He profited 4.4b.However, if he would have never paid 6.5b for it because he only valued it at 2.1b, he gained nothing and lost nothing. His profit is equal to the most he would have paid minus the price he paid.
June 24, 201313 yr We really aught to stop discussing if he profited or not. It is like discussing "why". All parties are technically right but they still disagree Runescape player since 2005 Ego Sum Deus Quo Malum Caligo et Barathum
June 24, 201313 yr Even if it's just for show, I'm glad Jagex got this many people. There must be upwards of 100b removed from the game because of this though.you know that's a good point. I wonder if this will have a big effect on the economy...I know in a way it will I just wonder how substantial and how quick we will or if we will notice it. SirLoubert Leader of The MCR
June 24, 201313 yr Most of the time, we won't notice a lot of the missing stuff, because it wasn't circulating.. If the items are not circulating they are "effectively" removed already.. I don't think the loss of GP will have a significant impact, but it could have an impact via people theorizing what will happen. June 25, 201313 yr any idea how many crackers came back into the game through the ge like this, and will it lower the street price of them since all of these people got them for so cheap?
June 25, 201313 yr any idea how many crackers came back into the game through the ge like this, and will it lower the street price of them since all of these people got them for so cheap? As said before, the price on crackers will almost definitely rise as the supply has completely dropped off. Md3w was virtually the market for crackers and now that he is gone, there is hardly anyone trading. Most people buy crackers to complete sets, so when those people buy them, it is essentially removing them from the game (drying up supply even more). Untill they are banned / need the cash to gather new armour/weaponry. (Like first week after nex). First they came to fishingand I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing Then they came to the yewsand I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews Then they came for the oresand I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak out for me.
June 25, 201313 yr I dont want to be blamed for starting a false rumor but I thought Jagex has been adding banned rares back to the GE They've done this before but I'm unsure whether this is procedure now or just a rarity(perhaps only in cases where perm ban actually means perm or only when they wipe banks). "All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing"
June 25, 201313 yr That comes from a jagex mod post a while back when they said essentially "we have methods to ensure the number of discontinued items remains constant" in a thread discussing banned accounts and rares on the rsof. I'll look for it once I get home but it is likely gone.
June 25, 201313 yr They did definitely post that, I read it too. The point with druidic being that although it isn't technically discontinued, it is rare enough to require the same treatment. Asmodean <3
June 30, 201313 yr Baudelaire - (2491 total) lol Finaly Blow is banned as well... (dungeoneering leech FC)Love the way HLF is jumping on this. *eats popcorn*Haha I'm not really surprised that more and more members for dg selling fcs are banned Also, DGS... July 23, 201312 yr AHK can sometimes be flagged if it's not randomized, no? I took it to mean that he was using AHK but not that he was using 'illegal' scripts.

July 23, 201312 yr AHK can sometimes be flagged if it's not randomized, no? I took it to mean that he was using AHK but not that he was using 'illegal' scripts.Bingo. Even if you're using legal scripts, being 1:1, if your script constantly clicks the exact same coordinate or color - it raises a flag. After-all, they can't tell if you're sitting behind your monitor actually pressing the button. All they see is that after moving your mouse you've managed to click exactly 250,400 and then 800,650, in the exact same number of ticks, over two hundred times without flaw. It does sound bad to say, but even legal scripts must be made undetectable.. Which is easy enough. :P. The problem with AHK is that it's so easy to learn and so appealing. With no programming knowledge you can make it loop perfect clicks and play your game for you - "illegally" of not. People don't think that, even though their script is legal, that'll it'll be flagged for those reasons above.

July 23, 201312 yr So with my thoughts of Jagex and their own rules of should not do's, we have SOF a form of gambling which is ban-able in game and yet they encourage participation with wheeling and dealing extraordinaire and a game of chance, being one of their most obvious. I mean every time you log into Runescape, your greeted with the latest advertisement of whats on the wheel. But then again, that too is a matter of interpretation isn't it? "Because rules are for players"If you look *really* closely, you'll notice the rule is for player-run games of chances, not for *all* games of chance. If you read my post, you would have hopefully seen I was making an interpretation of those rules... and to be blunt, it really makes no difference if the rule says player-run games of chance and not for 'all' games of chance does it, gambling in or using an outside source on Runescape is ban-able so why have SOF. But then again, I suppose if your the boss you can make one rule for the masses and it does not apply to yourself, bit hypocritical don't you think?Your point being? They don't want people doing player-run games of chances because scamming became much too common (Probably not the only reason tbh.)You don't get scammed by using the SoF. Yes that is true but at the same time, its Jagex taking advantage of something they have seen in the game to make more profit off the player, scams still happen outside of that part of the game so I find that point irrelevant..... that's the hypocritical part and as for rules etc... I agree, botters should be banned same with rwtraders.
