pennywise
Ok I've been just thinking about stuff lately and I was wondering, if you were a teacher(like at an elementary or high school) what kind of teacher would you be?Like would you be one of those nice teachers that does'nt yell or anything, and is kinda laid-back, or would you be a strict teacher?I'd probably be a laid back nice teacher since i've had waaay too many encounters with strict teachers  . So, how about you? Eight Bananas, MD.
Barihawk
History teacher. Im going to be easy going in class, but strict on my plans for my students. Basically, I will be nice but I will not slack off when it comes to thier education. Mostly since...I will be a teacher in 3 years. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. dwarfie76
Being a highschool chemistry teacher would be good fun. My mother teaches chemistry, maths and biology, my brother is a history, geography/social studies teacher and my best mate is an english and politics teacher. I did some work as a university tutor to earn a bit of money as a latter year college student, which is vastly different because people are actually paying to be in your class and the age difference is only a couple of years (plus they're not 'kids' any more). To be a good teacher you have to be laid back and have a good sense of humour. It's always the strict, highly strung teachers that burn out. Lionheart_0
I plan to be a science teacher. I want to let my students be able to have freedom, but not to the point where its chaos. weezcake
I'd be a history/government teacher. Two of the best classes in high school, IMO. I had lots of fun, but learned at the same time. I'd be laid back and down to earth, but only be strict when needed. Like how I act on TIF. ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring. Not a biology teacher? For me, my teaching style would probably depend on what level class I'm teaching. I'd like to challenge the kids and get them thinking and interested in whatever's happening in the class, teach through hands on type lessons whenever possible, and have a fun environment with the kids actually eager for class. I couldn't stand teaching a class full of indifferent kids, so if I did go into teaching some day after I retire\quit my 'main job,' I would like to teach either advanced highschool classes or at a university. If I was a teacher I would want to teach an AP class, that way I would get the Brightest kids in the school. I would most like to teach AP US History or Statistics. Because those were my favorite AP classes. Your true character is what you are like when you believe there are no repercussions.
Pete_the_Viscous
I've thought about this. Teacher is one of the jobs I've considered, and I wonder which level I'd want to teach... then I think, actually, I'd have to go for sixthform or above (if I were actually good enough to do so). I couldn't handle little kids behaving like... little kids. That, and you hear stories about how (secondary school) teachers behave. I don't like the sound of having to socialise with that sort of person. Anyway, having said that, to answer the question, I'd say I'd probably be the laid back type. I don't think I could handle the shouting -- I'm not sure I've got the charisma; what's more, I don't think it really gets to the badly behaved children, whereas good, laid back teaching seems to. deviantart account

I personally love history and government more than biology (though it comes in at a close second), but I'd rather get a biotech major for the jobs. :D ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring. Guest AshKaYu
Teaching is a job I'd love to do. I'd probably teach High School level, History/Core French/Whatever second language they have at the high school. I love both of those subjects, and I'd love to help young minds. runesmithie
I'd rather teach highschool level math since its so much easier than lower levels :x My history teacher is horrible, a report is due pretty much every week because he can't find anything for us to do... I just posted something! ^_^ to the terrorist...er... kirbybeam.
Bubsa
If I did go into teaching it would be in either Theatre Studies or English language (or literature). So, as you can tell from the subjects, I wouldn't be strict or rigid. Although, just one time, it'd make me feel all powerful to pick on younger kids and be a real hard arse :) This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you. Guest AshKaYu
I can't believe I forgot Drama. They didn't do Drama or Dance at my old school. I'd be a real meanie for the first month to tell the kids "Don't mess with me" then me nice. I'd have a form of embaressment to actual embaress the kids. Something like 'Say a love poem to this girl/guy' or something really typical, 5 page essay on talking, it's benefits and when not to do it. crimsonking
I'd either be an East Asian Studies teacher or a Student Naturalist teacher in high school In Naturalist I would be strict when it comes to kids taking care of animals since most animals would get sick or die if they arn't taken care of just right, but other than that I would be nice, I would give a moderate amount of homework and take them on several trips over the year. In East Asian Studies I guess I would be pretty nice, but I probably would give out a lot of homework and give out huge assignments over the trips we take. ~^v^~Ex-Leader of the Divine Flames of Redemption~^v^~
Mr_Putter
I don't think I'd be able to be a grade 7-8 teacher...They seem to be the pretty much jerkiest type of kids, I'd probably end up hitting one and get fired. I'd probably be a highschool teacher, teaching the smarter kids...Hopefully I'd teach ancient history, or possibly regular history or something to that effect. It always seemed like a sweet gig...You got you're relatively easy tests to mark, the occassional essay...And the rest of the time you get to talk about neato stuff (my ancient history teacher pretty much covered every topic known to man..) Plus you get fair pay (not good, but if you stay for a long time it's not too bad), excellent benifits, pension, and a like 2 month holiday. Only downside - You probably wouldn't get to work where you wanted, and most of the day you're working with people who aren't your age. I'd probably be a nice enuf teacher, and probably want to teach some non-compulsary subject (if you taught like grade 12 math to kids, and you weren't an amazing teacher, you'd pretty much screw them from university). MPM
I'm actually going to be a teacher. 3 years to go :\... I decided on middle level math|science. I'm way too nice to be in secondary, would be ran over and tied to chairs and such. I also dont think I could simplify my thoughts enough for young children to understand. Heck, I cant ever explain myself to myself half the time if that shows you how advanced I am ;) I'm hoping to keep the type of personality I have with kids now. Fun and enjoyable, but they know if I tell them to do something they should. But, from what I've seen/heard, few teachers stay the way they go in. ~M

assassin_696
I'd probably teach english or history, but i could be a physics teacher. I'd be laid back and relaxed, but wouldn't take any crap either. I'd love the practical side of physics, my physics teacher last year was AWESOME. He was so well respected and we had so much fun with him. I'd like the open-endedness of english, and history fascinates me. cydoor
chemistry teacher for sure. I'd probably do lots of experiments, as I'm doing now :P Dangerous ones too. And no, i dont want to blow up my school :P I was once a chmstry teacher for my own class. From the first minute most of them started doing their own business. So me and my friend, who were assigned to be teacher for our class started doing those excersises, which were meant to be done with whole class. Some students did them wit us, but I must say, being a teacher isn't easy.
____
I'd teach either Ancient History, English or IT. And I'd be the laid-back kind of teacher who would only be strict when need be. I've had some fairly strict ones in the past and it's hell. They can destroy even the the coolest subject :(
