February 20, 200620 yr What is the point of playing Runescape? I have asked this many times to myself when I spent alot of my time on my account. Why do we do this? Do we play to be the best, or are we here for a different reason? I personally wanted to be the best when I started playing a couple of years ago but where is that dream now? I strive to excell at the skills that I do but so I can see a big and somewhat shiny level 99 next to that skill. I don't think that is why I play anymore. There must be a bigger reason. I sometimes go on to take a look to see what has happened. I wander around the places that they have started refurbishing to make it look more realistic and to enhance the game. I personally enjoy watching what they do to the land scape as the game progresses. But is that why I come on? Do I log on just to admire a online computer game? There still must be a reason why. Then when I am thinking this, one of my friends log on and we have a chat. I laugh, I get angry, and I enjoy the moments. Then it clicks, I play runescape to have fun with friends! I do not enclose myself for the weekend just to get my skill to the next level, but instead just talk with my friends enjoying the game it was suppose to mean. I hear of people who are literally "addicted" to the game. I feel sorry for them that think this game is basically their life. If there was no such thing as a friend list, I personally would not play. Some may also say, "Why pay them $5 a month so I can do a few bit of extra stuff?" Well to answer that, me and my close friend play Castle Wars and hang out on non-crowded worlds and just enjoy the moments. My wish is that people learn to enjoy a game and not become absorbed into the game. I conclude with this remark, Have Fun! That is the reason I play. How about you? A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.
February 22, 200620 yr I don't play runescape anymore but when I did it was almost exclusively a way to meet people and chat. I stopped playing mainly because my friends did and in the last month that I played I spent almost all my time talking. Often i would spend most of my time in free worlds even though I was a member. Pm me if you need anything proof-read, I may not be very good, but I am always willing to help.A Seal Clubber is me!A Oxygenarin is me!6*9=42
February 22, 200620 yr Nice revelation mirror..I play to have fun, watch the game develop, meet people and more. Why do we play games such as medal of honour? To have fun, to shoot nazis, etc...I also play for the enjoyment of pk'ing with friends, the joy of training and finally reaching your goals, the minigames, the great graphics for such a cheap game. I've had my word now...anyone else? :) Just started my new account.

February 22, 200620 yr Fook! Sssh! I played when it was fun and you could get on with people you didn't know. Hence, why I have quit. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
February 22, 200620 yr I play RuneScape to achieve something, and in my eyes the only way to do it is (for me) training skills/quests etc. I do have fun, but i'm still active after 4 years because of the quests/skills and updates.
February 22, 200620 yr to me runescape is a chatroom with a game attached, i talk to mates and play while im at it
February 22, 200620 yr I play for freedom. It may seem strange but its true. I mean yu can wander about whereever yu want, and do whatever yu please. Yu would get done for fishing in a forbidden area, or killing somebody in the wilderness. Thats why i still play runescape, for freedom ~R.I.P~ Old Nite. Your Generosity will NEVER be forgotten ~R.I.P~
February 22, 200620 yr Why do we play games such as medal of honour? To have fun, to shoot nazis, etc... That made me laugh  I play for all the reasons above, and I do try get addicted, although some holidays etc I find myself playing for stupid amounts of time. The only irl freind I have on rs now is my cousin, all the rest have quit, moved onto games like CSS, gah. The main reason RS is addictive is because the reward:effort ratio is perfect. Hence, ehy there is no "High alch x" option etc. I, atm, am playing for the goal of a phat, not only for the respect etc, but because it is a goal I have set myself, and one I am willing to reach out for.
February 23, 200620 yr friends i believe is the only thing in the game that entices me to play on.. there was this little moment where my best pal in game was off for a week holiday abroad... to my astonishment.. i din even bother to log on.. Well.. another reason is, as u proceed to level into the 90 odds.. the ridiculous amt of exp required to level gets bigger and bigger.. this is when i almost give it up.. lol..
February 23, 200620 yr I am addicted to RS because it is one of my getaways from the real world. My family is really hectic and if I'm not reading or scaping or playing video games I am made to cook, clean, and babysit my brother. Alas, I'd pick being addicted to RS over being addicted to drugs anyways. :P

February 24, 200620 yr Author Thanks guys for the feedback. I hope you enjoyed my reason. A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.
February 24, 200620 yr I play for the fun of it. I don't try kill myself in rs and i make sure i spend enough time with my rl friends. I always remind myself that this is just a game whenever i really want to play. I use rs as a little distraction for every now and then when my friends are busy or i'm bored. It's just a world i like to spend time in when i want to get away from life. It also helps to relieve stress. Put your problems back for a while... wow, kinda reminds me of those drug talks we have in school :P
February 24, 200620 yr I play for fun...and when I have extra time. I also enjoy studying various aspects about the game... What really appeals to me about runescape is that everything I do in the game is CUMULATIVE. I can see the result of my many hours...upon hours...of gameplay. It's nice to actually see something other than a little skill from playing so long. That's the main reason mmorpg's are, in general, so appealing. Runescape Name: "unbug07"Expand your mind.
February 24, 200620 yr I'm glad you brought up this topic. It is something that not too many players (or so I think) look into. For me, I play it when I have some extra time on my hands that I need to kill. Other times, I play it just so I can have something to talk about with other people that play it. It makes me a little sad to see how some players always need to call someone else a "n00b" (not trying to criticize anyone) when they're merely just trying to play a game. :? ^ Blog.
February 24, 200620 yr i played mainly because i was bored over the summer. Now that school has started i quit for a while and my grades have improved from last year. I quess now that my friends know about it i can't go all out power mining and smithing. I also i want to just have fun during my free time
February 25, 200620 yr personaly, i think your all nerds. you say that you chat to friends.. that are on the other side of the earth?? or, there your irl mates, then just get together wit em? i know for a fact your just trieing to hide your true self, the reason i play this game is becasue its fun to wahcth other people die and lseo there pixels! its the joy you get when you defeat somebody, its the thrill of working for such a long time for the reward. thats why people play, not for friends, althought, they are a part of it. dont try and b sumthing your not. if u only cared about friedns, ud b lvl 3, and also, ever heard of msn? i rest ma case. sw0rd

I've had my word now...anyone else? :) w00t Fun.. why else? With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
February 25, 200620 yr For fun..duh. I guess I'm "addicted" to the game, but hey, what else can I do? "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."
February 25, 200620 yr ...It's called MSN and there are wow hands down 100s of other mmo's with way better graphics then this with a freinds list on it. Why am I playing runescape? Lots of things to do, not nessisarily the freinds list ( I use that to ask buddies for help )
