Barrows and time? (read, maybe an important discovery!)

if you want good luck in barrows just take me along all I get everytime is 20 boltracks and a few chaos runes... everyone else on my world get near full sets... moral: ecljpse will suck up all the bad luck for you! (note: if you try to share loot with me i'll instantly die somehow.)

Jagex actually uses random numbers to generate the hits by you on the monster, the hits by the monster on you, the reward from the chest and all the rest.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Every once in a while, one of the thousands of players gets a sequence of random numbers that leads to a 'lucky' result. He tells the story to a friend who has a dream about something similar and relates the story back to the first guy later. Pop comes a new theory about the drops seemingly in a random manner (no pun intended).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Of course this is a random idea from a random player but it could just randomly be true :P.

Anyway, time has nothing to do with it. Everytime you kill any brother or monster at the barrows, their items go in the chest.

 

 

 

Killing all six brothers increases the chance of at least one of them dropping an item. The monsters in the tunnel drop runes only. Kill a lot of them and you will only get more runes. Time has nothing to do with it.

maybe....but people are only remembering the times they do get their items, the other times you get to the chest slow, your going dam, im not gonna get anything, so when you dont you dont really think about it...

does getting killed by one of the brothers and come back a month later to complete it to? because i was so pissed that ahrim killed me i refused to play barrows for a month, and when i completed it i only got some runes.

umm i did 15 runs with no item and for at least half of them i ectoed out at some point cause i suck. I always did my runs very veryslow.

I HARDLY think that you can set any sort of precedent on one "confirmed" case and one "hearsay" case. Two occurances do not point towards ANYTHING because the sample group is so incredibly small. Barrows theories are all well and good if they are backed with some form of research but this hardly qualifies as such, sorry.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If you did at least a hundred runs 30 minutes each and a hundred at 10 minutes each then you can say a theory with at least a LITTLE bit of backing but to just pull this out of your... well you get where I am going with this.

Im impressed that you got a Guthan Helm and top in the same go. I have done a lot of barrows and I did not know that a brother could drop more than one item when he died.

Pardon me but do you mean to say that each brother could drop 80 death runes in the chest? that the max amount of death runes you could get would be somewhere around 480 :shock: ?

Barrows! One of the most difficult parts in the game. About the time theory, i just dont know. I have always done mine getting a constant kc of the same. As well as going as fast as possible. So i feel that time is irrevelant.

According to your theory, you spend more time in the barrows, and you get a better item? Well in that case, the person who obtained 10k KQ twice should be rolling around in Guthan spears. Sorry, but I personally think time does not matter, it is only luck.

yeah, back when i had my old computer, i started a barrow's trip on it on like a monday, and i didnt play runescape all week, then on friday when my dad came home, i got on his computer, and i opened the chest with torags legs and ahrims hood, pretty freaky

Aha, you're assuming that every brother ONLY drops his own stuff. Since each brother DOES only drop ONE item, this proves that each brother drops their brothers items, also. Guthan can drop Karil. Karil can drop Torag. And so on. :D I got 2 Karil items in one chest, and only killed one of them. To me, that proved it.
