EDIT: What's really funny, if you sniff around that place enough, you'll find that 40% of the people that found that link searched a search engine for the word "[ForbiddenSite]". Those poor souls, it's just a keylogging scam if you find one nowadays.

Anyone notice how things on rsc were more detailed? Ive been playing seince spring 2001 I had 12 santas 4 green masks I got from the holiday drops and I bought a green phat for 2 m. About a month after I bought my phat I was hacked and it all went down hill from there. :cry:

just a side note: the other day i was speaking with some rs2 product and they told me i was very dumb cause i said you could buy a red p hat in a store back in rs1. Anybody could approve this lol?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Actually yes when one of the shops in varrock was opened it had a red p hat listed in the inventory. There were all sorts of rumours going around that it respawned every couple of hours and there were masses of people just standing waiting to buy it. However it never respawned and jagex removed it from the game after a few days of confusion.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

However in time it was in the game there was a mad rush to sell red hats, i know because i was one of them :(

Also, party hats never used to have colors like they do now, masks and party hats were just called that...halloween mask and party hat.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

if you were on the second trade screen you couldnt tell the difference between a yellow party hat and a pink party hat...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

there was many scams that used a program that somehow could tell when a person was hitting accept, and it changed it a split second before they hit accept, and if you wernt noticing, you wouldnt tell that you didnt hit it, and click it again, and have no way of knowing what phat color it was that you were buying.

in november of 2003 i beleive was the year(might not be correct) someone found a loophole and could dupe any item that wasnt stackable. I think they used [ForbiddenSite] or some program like that.

You DO realize that blues were duped almost as much as pinks, being the 2nd highest valued hat at the time. I would venture to say that green is actually the "rarest" party hat out there, due to the ugly color and relatively low value at the time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

"Rarity" has no effect on the price of party hats, plain and simple. Price is just determined by who wants to buy what color at what time. Blue is about to hit its peak, in which turn the rest of the colors will gradually rise to meet that point as well. It comes to a certain point where theres only a few buyers, and the sellers think theyll continue to rise....meaning almost no sales. You can see it currently with mask sets that nearly doubled in price in one week, and now are dropping back down.

actually the rarest item in the game was a herb that cameron had within the first month the game came out. At least in my opinion it was.

This still doesnt make a blue hat more "rare" then any other one. If anything, after that mass ban, the prices of the cheapest hats skyrocketed because the cheaters were buying the cheaper ones for greater profit. The profit margin is far greater on a lesser valued hat then a blue one. There arent that many people willing to spend approx 200 mill on a blue hat, where as a red hat youll find tons of buyers, enabling quick sell and resell.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Blue hats were always far above the other 5 colors (post-dupe). The whole price boom didnt affect anything, since every hat had a similar increase. Actual "rarity" and perceived "rarity" is not the same thing. Peoples perceptions that many hats were deleted due to the mass bans led to a price boom. If any hats were even deleted Ive explained why they were probably the lesser valued colors, and not the blues and whites in the game world. Making the lesser valued colors more rare. NOT BLUES.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I think you fail to grasp my main point: BLUE PARTY HATS ARENT MORE RARE THEN ANY OTHER HAT. There is abolutely no reason theyre far higher in value then the next highest (white), with an approx 60 mill difference. If anything blue hats should be more in line with purple ones, seeing as the original dupe created almost as many blues as purples.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Explain to me why a blue hat is worth that much more then the next highest hat if you will please....
