I_Broke_Benjamin
First, before I actually talk words, I would like think something for you all. Have you any all noticed this type of forum is popular on sites? Ok, I'm glad I got the stupid out of the way. Anyway, I was thinking of something. Maybe they could come out for a Runescape for console. I mean, if you think about it, Just the amount of X-Box Live users far exeeds that of Runescape. Think about the possibilities if it went to console. They could make it somewhat like Fable for offline, but online it would be exactly the same as the PC version. And it would come with the members stuff already included. I don't really know why they would do this, but it is fully within their capability. Yeah. Jagex should make a console game. because I feel like it. yeah.
shadowshow
even though i disagree with your reasons why, i agree, i would much love for it to be on my trusty X-Box, those that buy the consol game would still have to pay for member areas (they could still have worlds, and schtoofs like that) and you still have to pay like you do for the computer version, it could, as said before, and hopefully will eventually be done, but before you send this to jagex, please clean up your message, make it more formal, and professional Horus was weak, Abbadon was a fool, but I Karkan, chosen of the chaos gods, shall conquer Terra, I shall kill the false emperor. gandalfmight
ahahahhahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..... Xbox development kit is 1 mil+ Xbox 360 development kit price is more than 1 mil... Knowing Runescape trying to squeze every penny out of its players....its never gonna happen.... (US dollars) Number of members = 500,000 Price for member ship = 5 2,500,000 from members.. Adds give about 300k MAX... Total 2,800,000 dollars.... Minus the runescape team getting payed....take off about 1.5 mil... 1.3 mil would be left over as profits...from a month To program on the xbox requires learning C++.....to my knowlege the xbox 360 cannot support java...... Also that means they would have to get a team to program in C++....its never going to happen mabye it could be started in 2 years....but then would they do it? tefda
There are already hundreds of MMORPG like games out on video game consoles. There's no need for making one more, even if it's Runescape. RS belongs to the internet and the browser, that is where it will stay.
fishmech
There is already RuneScape for the consoles. You can play it on the Dreamcast with it's web browser. I've done it before.
Giordano
Why not make a keyboard on the X-box controller, eh? "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."
zaquierming
It's been suggested many times, It's even on the "Do not suggest" list on the Runescape forums, Runescape would simply not make a profit from it. And it would take far too long to launch. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference. Dudeisadude9
Please dont tell me you got this idea from the rumor of WoW Being on the Xbox 360 in the future, Whats the point? Your going to want a keyboard, and mouse to click might as well use a computer only diffrence is that your using your television, I personaly like playing MMORPG's on a console, I was looking foward some titles to come out but they never came out, Unless you were able to move in runescape by pressing a key instead of clicking to move i guess it could be possible, AND if it wasnt Java based people would complain that the graphics suck blah blah blah. If WoW ever does come out on xbox360 (a rumor)...Bye bye runescape  Quit runescape...
highlanders
Membership would cost a real fortune! And Jagex would need to adapt their crappy graphics to the X Box or make new graphics. They're already unable make simple things... Wow bravo Jagex, you only took a whole week to make a 10 minutes quest! 2480+ total
re4p3r1
oooh.this is a horrible idea. 1st:if it was a console game then it would just be about online 2nd:xbox live already costs 50$ a year if they have members for 5$ a month, no one is gonna like it. 3rd:i actually have xbox live and the people on xbox live dont like these types of games for online. Lets_3ekout
It wouldn't work.... at all... 1st. i dought Jagex knows anything at all about programming games on consoles and if they do then they wouldn't be all that good at it. 2nd. Runescape would cost $55 a month or something like that... i'll pass. 3rd i belive majority of runescape players don't have the money to pay up for a console and games (that can easily add up to $1500+ with games and live in half a year). seeing when your poor you don't have a spare $1500 cash on your hand, i don't see it happening. 4th NO FREE TO PLAY. there would of course be no F2P because your already paying for live. without F2P not many would know about how fun runescape is. without people knowing about how fun a game is there aren't many game purchases. without many game purchases there isn't a game. 5th consoles are there for high graphic, huge games. runescape just doesn't fit in that catagory. X-Arcade-X
The reason why RuneScape is so popular now is because of it's flexibility. You don't need to have a ub3r 1337 video card, you don't need 512MB of RAM, you don't need a pentium 4 CPU, you don't need to DL a 2gig file, you don't need a lousy installation that tells you to restart, unlike other MMORPGs. All you need is a PC that works, a browser, mouse and keyboard. Hell, you can play RS on a computer that was made a decade ago. We don't need a game with crappy graphics if you're going to play it on X-box. Theres way better out there. :P RsN: Arcade

And if you have one, big deal, the graphics still are pretty bad. Besides, If they DID have a XBL version, imagine how much space it would take up! you would need a second X-Box just to hold the updates, plus you might have 2 CDs. Not to mention that on top on the subscription to RS and XBL, you also would have to BUY the game to be able to play even F2P. And wat about chat? Just use the microphone? Well, no thx. Movement could be kinda easier, just move the thumbstick and you move that way, so no more wierd walking routes (turn around 4 times before walking the right way), but still, this never would happen. Never. Just, no.
roronoazoro12
No no no no no no no no no no no no no no. Not on the Xbox or 360 anyway. The best place for RS to go is on the Nintendo DS. Wireless access. Reasonable amount for development kit. Easy transfer from keyboard and mouse to the touch screen. It just makes sense. It might not be a console but it's close enough. And even then, it doesn't have to be Java brower they have to use. They could start from scratch or sumthing to figure out how to transfer the graphics to the system. Also you could still have F2P because there is no subscription fee to the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection. And if you have to have it on a console, it could also go on the Nintendo Revolution. The controller would make the game extra fun(anyone want to swing a dragon battle axe?) It is also no subscription fee on there either. Then Jagex would only charge about $10-$20 because the development costs are down. Oh well, it's up to Jagex.
bjbj1991
They would half to make a mostlikly c/c++ verson of the client to run on any console. That should be fairly easy but it is still a feat. If your suggesting using the WiFi then thats a big no no. Does the ds use a peer to peer network? or a client server? If it is p2p then it would be extremly difficult, client/server still hard but it would only work in hotspots and it would be slow.
roronoazoro12
i'm pretty sure it is a client server, and it doesn't have to be a hotspot anyway. If you have a computer with DSL then you buy a $20 USB plugin for the computer and it uses that connection. The Revolution will work the same way.
