July 30, 200619 yr Author Well done, i should start charging commission on you guys \ With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
July 30, 200619 yr hey....i was just wonderin am i ready for barrows?*stats r below* ranged--77 hitpoints--65 magic--46 prayer--43 defence--40 strength--31 attack--31 dont call me a noob for asking...i just need to knwo and i dont wanna go do somethin i cant win.and also could u tell me what to bring. July 30, 200619 yr Range and prayer is there, but you will have some trouble vs. the 5 brothers your mage. With those melee stats it might also be hard in the tunnels. Just gotta be fast down there.

August 16, 200619 yr Author Take rune legs and plate for verac i advice now. He will hit less and you will have more food in the tunnels. Still pray on him though. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. September 2, 200619 yr Great guide!!! I just finish it in like 1 and half hour... Because this ym first time. Got 81 blood, 71 death, 100 mind, and guthan body. Great guide you deserve to be a Tip.it Reasearcher! Good job! ~bomb
September 2, 200619 yr Hmm I was just thinking about doing some barrows. I posted a while ago and asked people if I ws high enough to do barrows and some said I needed to train more. Well I trained some more and here are my stats: I was thinking about using ahrims and either getting my slayer to 55 or just using ancient magiks. (I'm not sure I want to spend all the runes for ancients though :-k ) I was gonna try wearing full rune and no prayer on guthans (tip.it said it was a good idea). Any advice?
September 5, 200619 yr Author Your stats are fine for barrowing. If you want to take ahrims do so. As i would not advice you meleeing Karlis. And you really need a good mage bonus to get through him well. You can then switch to rune armour and no-pray torag an guthan and verac if you wish. Edit: Also your 51 slayer so close to 55. May aswell get the 55 and do it. I use only ancient magicks if i want some more fun. It costs quite a bit do use it all the time. Wear Melee armor against Verac, Torag and Guthan, so you dont hit as much. and dont worry, their mage is so bad that you can hit as well with +50 mage than -15. 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. September 5, 200619 yr Ok. Thanks for the guide Satenza, it seems to be the most appropriate to me. While we're on the subject of being good enough here are my stats: The def will be 70 by about this time next week so I'm considering getting a barrows set (cheaper one though, no Guth just yet). I may also push the mage up to 70 (if I can be bothered to fletch all those bows). I have enough dbones to hit 57/8 prayer as well. I assume these will be ok for some casual barrowing (not too serious). As yet I have no POH altar either so that's out :( I'm not too keen on knocking back three or four prayer pots at a go so my question would be what set to get (and why, just for interest) and who to avoid praying on (if I can avoid it that is).

If I may shed a bit of light on this matter for you : 1. Your Stats are fine for Professional barrowing (Not praying 24/7 down in the crypts), though you could struggle a bit. What I DO Suggest though is that you wear barrow armor, but mix and match them. I'll tell you what I mean. Helm : Torags or Farseer. Torag's helm worth around 300k, and has same defence bonus as Guthan's Helm, which is over 50 in all of its melee defence (or thereabouts). Farseer helm is if you feel splash too much, and want to replace it with something else. Ahrim's Hood is a choice, but tad bit expensive for that purpose. Body : Any melee barrow armor : Torag, Dharok AND guthan provide exactly the same stats, and are priced very very similarly (1m a piece). another good choice would be Brassard, Inferior Melee defence but Good prayer bonus. Not recommended until you are comfortable with it. Legs : There is ONLY 1 choice here, and thats Verac's Skirt. It costs 400k max (making it cheapest melee armor piece next to torag's helm), has the same melee def as torag and dharok legs, and gives +4 prayer bonus. Perfect for barrowing. Looks might not be the best, but hey, barrowing is for the money right? (EDIT : This is assuming you will NOT be heaing down in the tunnels with Guthan set) Do not pray on Guthan or torag when maging in melee armor, only use food down there, they dont hit nearly as often as the other brothers. Use food to substitute. This should save you 2. Try ahrim without prayer to see if you are comfortable with it. If not, go back to praying. And lastly, the higher the prayer, the better. helps to save p pots and allows you save bank trips more. 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. I presume this strategy involves keeping the same outfit equipped throughout hence the balancing of stats from different sets? Maybe mystic boots and gloves for the mage? I'm figuring spade, super restore (maybe 2), two ppots, MSB, runes, and the rest monkfish. Thanks for the help. I must see about sorting my house out with an altar and portals.

Now For the gloves, If you have RFD gloves better than addy, use it. They beat Mystic Gloves to death with it. Also keep your mystic Boots on all the time. You shouls still carry say a Black D hide on you though for the mage, so you kill him quicker. Change back to normal outfit after (i suggest praying on Ahrim if you just gonna carry black d body). September 6, 200619 yr Yep, chenw is teaching me about all sorts of things this week, Barrows, KQ... Anyway I had another question not covered in your guide (I think, I did look quite carefully), that is 'the face' apprently this turns up and drains prayer (8 + the number of brothers killed I heard?). Does this face appear at a fixed interval? Does it only appear when you are in the crypts or also in the tunnels? Do you mage or melee to raise your kill count in the tunnels? Also: Holy wrench - worth sacraficing an inv spot for? I'm thinking not but I've been wrong before (ask chenw) :) Anyway, thanks for the guide and the help, just saving up for the equipment now and should be rolling in about two weeks. Hope to see you guys down there :)

Hope to see you guys down there :) 1. Drain is every 15 seconds or so, its roughly equal to 5 spell casts per drain. And yes it is 8 + (number of brothers killed this run) per intervals. 2. For speed, Melee to increase Kill Count is the best, mage is slow and bit wasteful 3. If your prayer level is low, then i would suggest it. Otherwise (60+), no. I have never personally used Holy wrench myself unfortunately because it didnt really matter to me. Try it first for a few runs, then run another few and see if they make a difference. 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills.
