Dakine600 Posted March 16, 2006 Share Posted March 16, 2006 Ok Im bored so Id like to share a story with everyone that makes me want to scream everytime I think of it. First of all I am not lying and I have no reason to lie. So back when RSC was the only version out, when there were 4 servers, members did not exist, every experianced player was a pker, Bluserose13x was first to make R2h, when so started at 5 combat, and you could PICK what class you wanted to be ex" ranger, warrior, adventurer, mage etc. I started playing this game with a friend of mine back in 5th grade (9th current). I was on playing with my friend and I had taken a tour of the starting area. It is VERY hard to remember well bo back then but I was in lumby and I took a tour around what I thought of as the world of Runescape. I just followed the paths and I felt really scared I remember on the inside because I didnt know where I was going. What I had done was go around Lumby to Draynor and into the Mage tower and back into lumby. Then my friend logged on and we went roaming. I remember feeling really jelous because he had a "wooden" shield and I had a Bronze Square. So we were going around I felt so scared because Id see people in full iron killing goblins and Id ask them not to kill me and such. Then my friend logged off. This was Christmas eve night by the way... I decided to stay on for a few more minutes and roam. So i went into the lumby forest and was running from all the monsters :). Then these redthings started apearing on the ground. I went around and picked up 4 of them the only ones I could find. They were called "party" crackers or "christmas" crackers I cant remember. And yes im almost 100% sure they were RED not WHITE from what I can remember. And I "used" them on some random people and I remember getting a blessed symbol in a couple and some other "junk" like 2 white and a red and yellow party hat. Little did I know that this "junk" would be worth a priceless amount of money to me in the future. 10gp meant a lot to me then, and I really wanted to go to Al Kharid and wanted to pass the gate and pay the toll. So I went to the general store in lumby and sold each party hat I had for about 2 gp each. THE END. I feel like I want to kill myself now. Thankyou for reading. Personally it doesnt matter to me. I have been playing well before all that, before fally existed, before full mith even existed (though there was some addy items, the higest shield was a steel square from what i remember). But that was way to far ago to remember much, plus i only played a month or 2 before my comp crashed, leaving me internetless for 3 months, while rs made many advances. Needless to say, I managed to get 3 Phats that christmas day and the following week from either using crackers with friends, or randomely having them used on me. Im proud to say I still own all 3 Phats, a green, red, and purple. Mine is the ONLY account they have EVER been on and will continue to be the ONLY account they are on. Regaurdless of what their prices rise to, I will NEVER sell them. So personally, the choices made back then, even had i known what i know now would have probably been to stockpile hats, but then i would probably be in my current situation, just refusing to sell 30 phats rather then 3 lol. I also have an original mask set and santa. Though the santa is a special situation because I have bought a few more as investment, so whose to say of the 15 or so which is the original :x Regaurdless, I still dont see me selling even them for some reason :lol: money is just too easy to make nowdays. There were more than 4 world, i use to be on #5 so do the math. 3. i *think* that the person u pulled the cracker got the phat and u got an item, this could be random though. There are a few mistakes there Valaraz. The people that were good that I knew were pkers. There were 4 I repeat 4 worlds when I started. Why would I lie? No, becuas people wouldn.t have mindlessly sold them for a pitence and dropped them never to be seen again. This topic just angers me about what stupid things i did with mine. :( With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. I was like, WOW THAT IS SO MUCH. But then a guy died with one and I picked it up and sold it for 1k and like begged the guy to give me 1k for it. lunareklipse Posted March 16, 2006 Share Posted March 16, 2006 Back about a year ago santa hats where only going for 400k, and i kick myself everyday almost that i didnt work my butt off and buy at least acouple, but a a year ago I was broke and 400k was alot of money too me. should've realized that they could do nothing but go up in value since they where dropped by jagex, and not something you can get from a monster. for example the abby whip used to cost 10mil a year ago, because not very many ppl had 85 slayer, now they are dropping in price weekly, and stuff like gilded armor used to even be 10mil now its worth about 4, its a little rarer to get that in a treasure trail, but i guess alot ppl have gotten lucky over the year. RS name- Lunar3klipse, banned 3-16-06: found out theres a new appeal system, I get an extra appeal, fingers crossed. I don't think whips have been out for a year yet... and if they have holy crud time flies fast!!
