My Quest Idea --The Dark Presence-- Please look VERSION 1.2!

The Dark Presence

 

Difficulty: Hard

 

Members Only: Yes

 

Skills Needed

 

Level 50 in all free stats

 

Level 65 Mining

 

Must Have 55 Attack

 

Must Be Able Travel Into The Deepest Free Wilderness

 

Must Be Able To Slay a Level 155 Evil Presence

 

 

 

The Quest (Orclarium Talisman)

 

Start: The Oracle on ice mountain

 

Part 1

 

Talk to oracle: Then you ust obtain a Orclarium Talisiman

 

Where: The oracle teleports you into a cave upon entering you notice an unfished runic circle and a doorway, a Lv75 Dark Mage awaits, Drops_Bones, Orclarium Tally

 

You are teleported away...

 

 

 

Part 2 (Orclarium Runes)

 

The oracle explains that there is a gateway deep in the wilderness that will only open with a charged Orclarium Orb. You then my proced to get at least 10 ess and use the alter to travel to the Orclarium alter. With 50 runecraft you create the runes.

 

You return and the Oracle hands you a uncharged orb.

 

 

 

Part 3 (The Dark Protector)

 

Now with 50 magic you must charge the orb and take it deep into the wilderness. Where the greater demons guard there is a rune circle, you place the charge orb and then use your tally with it. It opens...

 

Inside there is a non pvp dungon with a level 100 boss (The Dark Protecter) He drops Bones, 100-2000 gold, Rare: Rune Full Helmet, Seal of the Dark Oracle. You then are teleported to ice mountain.

 

The oracle looks at the seal....

 

 

 

Part 4 (The Orclaris Mines)

 

You are insturucted to reenter the fist portal and place the seal within the runic circle. This teleports you to a large dungon. At the end is a mine with a rare ore called Orclaris. You mine 5 of them and then make your way to the front. You notice a strange divit in the back wall.

 

 

 

Part 5 (Orclaris Key)

 

You are told to show the ores to doric, who instucts you to get enough coal to make the weapon of your choice, he crafts you some kind of Orclaris weapon. You take it back to the oracle and are instuctied to place it into the diviot in the wall. You do so...

 

 

 

Part 6 (Gateway of Darkness)

 

You are sucked into a strange place with alters with tools and strange items on them. You see a large alter in the middle with many pieces missing. You then proced to each alter and do what it tells you to do and you attach them to the alter. A powerful explosion is created and you land inside a room...

 

 

 

Final (The Battle)

 

You then must kill the Lv155 Dark Oracle. The room dissapers and you land on ice mountain. The oracle thanks you.

1. I think 10k free exp in each skill is a bit much. That's an automatic level in each of the skills (assuming they are only 50), which is pretty powerful.

 

 

 

2. Please explain the use of Orclarium Runes, or the spells they are used in. I doubt JAGeX would add a whole new spell set to f2p, as it would be moderately similar to Ancient Magicks in the sense that it requires a huge quest and has its own unique spell set. However if the Orclarium Spells were not intrusive on normal combat, it might be considered, though it's risky.

 

 

 

3. The stats of Orclaris are slightly better than rune, but not as good as dragon? What, then, is the point of getting 99 smithing? You can say "to get Orclaris armor!", but the point of 99 smithing for the past 5 years has been simply for full rune. If Orclaris were made smithable, it would throw the balance of the game, as rune would suddenly be worthless as compared to Orclaris. If this were taken into effect, I believe it would have to be that Orclaris were untradable, so that rune would still hold strong, and so 99 smithing would be worth getting (it is now, of course, but then it would be worth even more).

 

 

 

Overall I think you put a good amount of thought into it, though in all realistic thinking, JAGeX is unlikely, at best, to add another f2p quest, albeit one including a whole new spell set and new powerful armor. I think it would be a good idea to give f2p players a big quest for a goal, and that any dedicated enough to get high levels on f2p without moving on to members, deserve something like this, but it is still unlikely.

10k xp is too much. but, the high requirements are good. i was meant to quote the other guy that said something that wasnt negative, about how high leveled f2pers wont look at jagex as ogres (for a little while :lol:). but yeah, looks good, and gives high leveled f2pers (and even the littler ones) something to work towards that is beyond dragon slayer.

Jagex don't want people to work further with f2p, they want them to get p2p and work further with that. Which is why they should put in a limit to how much f2p'ers can play. Jagex is , after all, a business.

I didn't bother reading it when I saw that.

 

Did you read the first post at all? It hasn't been like that for a long time :roll:

 

 

 

I think it's a bad idea. First of all, you're just trying to get more stuff into f2p. That's why you made those requirements and rewards like that in the first place. 10k in all free skills is stupid. That's 150k total exp and a lot more than any of the hardest member skills. Something like 1k in all skills would be much more appropriate. (It's still a bad idea, though)

The hardest members quest gives about half that much experience. This quest is not even on level with Legends Quest (and I think I'm allowed to say that with 209 quest points...), even if it is a f2p quest.

These would be interesting spells, but relatively useless or overpowered. Seeing the exact amount of hp an opponent has would be useless, just look above their head for a rough estimate. Seeing their exact mage would be useless also, simply look them up in the high scores. Discovering their current prayer would be overpowered, giving you an idea of when you'll be able to hit full force.
