April 28, 200620 yr Why not just create a random 2 digit bank pin every time someone tries to open their bank. 2 numbers appear on the screen and one has to enter them in every time one tries to open thier bank. I don't know of macarolers can get around that =D I agree, blocking access to their bank accounts would be the death of 99% of autoers. There just needs to be a test, something like the mysterious box, that you need to do every so often when accessing your bank account. RSN: Ste_Boz
April 28, 200620 yr lol autoers arent killing rs... they are.... making it funner. how u ask? when jagex brings out the chuck norris skill we will roud house kick em 2 death. god bless jagex. Chuck Norris' tears can cure cancer... too bad Chuck Norrris has never cried! Nah being serious now, i do believe i have a solution (coutersy English King) to the woodcutter autoer problem. Jagex could give player mods new powers to be able to 'blow' up other players axes and pick axes. 'but what if they accidently blow up a pure wcer's axe?', you might say, simple! the player moderator would ask the autoer in question if he/she is indeed a autoer, if they reply, the mod won't blow up their axe, and because player moderator speech is visible even if the person in question has public off, if they ask a normal player, they would have the chance to answer no mater what! the axes can be easily repairable at bob in lumbridge, but if the mods take 'hanging' around the yews in shifts, that will make sure that if there is a repair axe script, the moderator would be able to recognise that autoer and simply blow the axe up again, making all the autoer's time spent reapiring his axe while jagex go around banning their accounts! April 28, 200620 yr The programmers can only do so much. If Jagex builds a wall, the macroers will find a way to climb it. It's a problem in many games. There is no fool-proof way to eliminate macros. Yes, but you can increasingly make the wall taller and thicker :P Anyways, there could be one problem with that bank pin, unless the numbers don't randomly generate (like on our normal bank pins) they would just remember the spot that you need, and there IS programs that can even bypass that. How, they pick up what is being asked, and look for the same characters that are being asked in "search box 1" or somthing...  Knowledge Talks| | Wisdom Listens~~Heroes Get Remembered, But Legends Never Die~~Xbox Live & Playstation Network Name: Trojann2
April 28, 200620 yr autoers are the staple of the rs economy. i hate them, but if iut wasnt for them, there would be less logs, feathers, runes, ores, bars and bones. its sad, but rs needs autoers to keep the economy going That reasoning is horrible. It just further goes to show how lazy some of our P2P members are. Damn the economy, I would much rather mine my own ores, make my own runes, kill my own ckickens, and such while seeing the autoers gone, then rely on them. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Believe me, nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won. -Sir Arthur Wellesley
April 28, 200620 yr they should just ban every ISP/IP address in china it would solve 90% of the problem Don't be Racist. And that would be unfair banning because of the real players who play in China R.I.P The Old Nite. Heroes get remembered. But Legends never die. You were truly a Runescape Legend
April 28, 200620 yr Jagex could give player mods new powers to be able to 'blow' up other players axes and pick axes. No power to macroers.. POWER2MODS :P its obvious jagEx cant do this alone.... we have to sometimes hang around yews and report all those macronoobs... till jagEx makes an yew update... Look at it this way, in the ess mine. it wasnt a problem, you could obviously have infinite amount of ess. and there were much autoers... now all those autoers continiue on to yews... and if we report some macroers and with some luck its the same person and he/she will stop ... just a thought Interrested in joining the cabbagy madness? April 28, 200620 yr The whole thing that annoys me are people that nitpick Jagex. If you have a problem with Jagex, that is your problem. However, you should take it up with Jagex via Customer Service or the RSO Forums. Posting here is nothing but a pathetic attempt to look "cool" by making fun of the establishment. If you have a rant about autoers or something, there is a rants forum on these boards. Use them. That would be fine and well if people wouldn't be ignored. And I'm not about to pay them $5 a month just to post on their forums... just so I can be ignored. So I think I'll stay here on tip.it and voice my opinion as much as I please. Thank you very much. And for the record... I never once suggested I was cool. Nor do I complain to "look cool". My comments are usually legitimate concerns. Concerns that are continuously ignored. I feel if I go ignored, I have a right to state how I feel to anyone and everyone who will hear me out. You don't have to like that, you just have to deal with it. Just felt I had to reply to that, seeing as though that comment applies to me to some degree. EDIT: The higher level trees shouldn't have been made f2p to begin with. I could see why they might have wanted to do that, but firemaking is only useful on p2p for the most part. F2p wouldn't have died just chopping normal logs for woodcutting and firemaking. R.I.P Shiva
April 28, 200620 yr Belive it or not the mods are working to try and solve this problem, just last night there were around about as many mods at varrock as there where macroers Fel 'n ddedwydd ydy 'r hunau drwo choel a cer am 'r yn bucheddu.
April 28, 200620 yr  They're really doing a great job with autoers, i though there will be like 500 options :P srry haven't been on in a while...what do u mean by options? And on topic...there just not much you can do to prevent this. There are tons of low lvls selling yews in varrock in bulk like 16k of them. Click for mah Blog!- I'm not sure why you would though because i never update it Achieved 99 Thieving 3/10/07-992nd to it
April 28, 200620 yr not sure if i'm allowed to post site adresses or whatever but watch this video i found of google video it shows how ridiculous the autoer problem is nvm i cant post link so go on video.google.com then search runescape and click autoers at varrock yew trees and you'll see what he means Sig by me....
April 28, 200620 yr the guy in the movie makes sense (if you dont know what i mean check the post b4 me) Join the sodb now! Thanks to misterxman for the great avatar!
April 29, 200620 yr We are trying our best, I've just given jagex about 100 macroer names today. Hopefully, Jagex will find a way to permanetly stop them.

In the mining guild, the 3 yews outside Varrock Palace, the 3 south of Falador and all the other f2p and p2p places that attract autos. just a problem. what if you were chopping down a yew and decided to go toilet, or you had to help somebody for a few minutes and while you're gone, the mod asks you whatever. your axe will get blown up, just because your were AFK for a couple of minutes. But i guess, they will have to do that and people will have to be careful when they are around there. Plus, the mod / jagex person should hide their crown so when they ask the question, the auoter won't mind. That will help because the autoers MAY frequently check the computer.
April 29, 200620 yr Faults in the system. When someone builds a fence, someone else is always going to try to climb it. All you can do at this point is just report and be done with it. There's no definite way to rid the world of all the loopholes and bugs with a Java-based game. (Consider the source.) Jagex is trying their hardest to rid the game of the unwanted and undesirables that ruin the game for the rest of you. So don't whine about it when they miss a few things. (And yes, they WILL catch this eventually.) ...i do believe i have a solution (coutersy English King) to the woodcutter autoer problem. What, and overpower the powers of a Player Moderator? Truthfully, they don't have to help anyone with autoers, but they do anyway. That idea is just silly, you'd be giving them reason to think everyone [that has Public Chat off and is just chopping trees without really paying attention to conversation] is an autoer. April 29, 200620 yr btw, you can see mod's messages even your have your chat off Actually there are only two ways to greatly reduce autoing IMHO the problem is Java bots (modified Runescape client) that work without autoer's attention So there are two ways: 1. Prevent client reverse engineering i.e. improve their Java obfuscator. Currently it is very easy and there are many ways of improving it without losing perfomance. 2. Image recognition. Bring back 'sleep' feature as new random event (one time in hour will be enough) or draw 2D vector picture(not model!) and ask player to recognize it. 'small bank pins', 'moving trees' and other stuff based on game objects can be easily solved by Java bot. P.S. Another good way is to set 'traps' for well-known bots and scripts (detect behavior specific for specific script) and ban them every week or so(including mains). May be they do not have time for that?
April 29, 200620 yr omg ive been teeeling them to send out all their staff and record all the names of the lvl3's and ban them l8r, oh well , they just dont care/listen. I think they do ban all the lvl 3s, but they autoers just create more... Soon you'll only be able to get 'pure yews' Oh and is it possible to ban the ip's of players that create autoers? They don't ban the IP, but they ban all accounts using that IP. So you can't have a noob autoing, you'd get your main banned too... But you can always start again :PIf they ban ip, autoers will use proxys.
April 29, 200620 yr they should just ban every ISP/IP address in china it would solve 90% of the problem i live in china.... and i dont macro doesnt mean you live in china you autoers, who to blame is the company who create it. someone need to blew up there system into peices maybe help solve the problem.
