r2-pleasent Posted May 29, 2006 Share Posted May 29, 2006 Aside from rarity, the Spear is also more expensive because it is the least valuable item in the Guthan Set when sold to a shop. This means that when a player dies wielding his/her Guthan Set, they end up losing the Spear and keeping the rest. This creates a great deal more demand for the Spear. onauric Posted May 29, 2006 Share Posted May 29, 2006 As stated the spear has the lowest shop value of the set so people lose it more often and thus it has the highest market value, same goes with the helm which is around 3m, and plate and skirt having together the same value. Considering the rarity aspect, Barrows is all about luck. Hopefully this together with this proves it. Verac's helm is more expensive because so many are lost in death. Same thing for spear and helm. Its not because they are "rare". Its because the demand is higher because those items are lost more. All barrows items, from the coif to the spear has an equal chance of coming from the chest. The supply is the same, its just the demand from deaths that crank up the price. A circus in Runescape??
