Back when I used to do barrows I had gotten about half that many without spear...

Aside from rarity, the Spear is also more expensive because it is the least valuable item in the Guthan Set when sold to a shop. This means that when a player dies wielding his/her Guthan Set, they end up losing the Spear and keeping the rest. This creates a great deal more demand for the Spear.

As stated the spear has the lowest shop value of the set so people lose it more often and thus it has the highest market value, same goes with the helm which is around 3m, and plate and skirt having together the same value.

 

 

 

Considering the rarity aspect, Barrows is all about luck. Hopefully this together with this proves it.

Lol, I got 11 items in total and 2 of them were spears ^^.

I've gotten 31 barrow items,2 of them were spears

yeah, ur drops are pretty much random. Thats just coicidence that you havent yet got a guthan spear...

first was torag legs 2nd was gutahn spear next chest after spear d med. they were my frist 3 and since then ive had another 30 odd items no more where spear, yet i have neer had ahrim top or bottom and ive had 4 dharock helms and legs

I think I gotten all barrows items more than twice and I havent gotten a single spear, damn im unlucky

so the least the item costs jagex-wise is more expensive to player-wise

I have done about that many trips and have gotten 6 spears, but no where near as many items as you. It has been on different accounts also.

there is no doubt that guthan spear is one of the rarer barrow items, but your sample size is just way to small to determine how rare it is

Not exactly. Why do you think Verac Helm's are rare? They ain't worth that much for nothing. I'm glad they're rare though seeing as how I got two of them in my first 15 trips 8-) .

Its not because they are "rare". Its because the demand is higher because those items are lost more. I wouldn't want to guess on how many Verac helms the KQ has eaten. She should include them in her drop lists! Hehe.
