Construction: what's it costing you?

Featured Replies

Ok guys in interested to see how much money you are all forking out for this new skill.

I've currently spent out about 1.5 mil on materials and i'm lvl 45 construction (still got nails and other materials left)

But what about you? whats your level and how much have you paid? Unless of course your one of those self sufficient people that get all the materials yourself?

I'm not wasting anymore money on con, it's just a waste IMO.

I'm going to wait till there are quests that give free con exp and tears of guthix gives con exp to. I must of wasted 50k so far. And I'm only 17 con. :(

No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

Ive spent.. Too much.

Will be stopping at lvl 55 so I can cheaply repair barrows.

same, i plan on spending like 2mil...jeez

Too much, near a mil probably and i'm lvl 44. Once i reach about 51 i'm just going to kit out my house and leave it at that. Back to barrows, more cash, more construction. But lvl 50 construction makes barrows much more efficient.

"Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"

I think i have wasted maybe 100k (maybe little less) and i am lvl 28

Best/latest drop list:

Rune: 18th of june 2006 [scimmy]

Other: 6th of June 2006 [3 half keys, T]

26th of june 2006 [yellow mystic hat]

The best repair station at the workshop can repair barrows items for a price depending on your smithing level.

put him in jail

Then i'll just wait for him to drop the e-soap

How the **** do you guys spend so much on it with such low lvls are you crazy?

I spent 6 hours and 110k! and im lvl 51

How the hell do you NOT spend that much money? You need to buy a house, materials, new rooms, everything requires cash! Unless you build clay fireplace or limestone brick fountain all the time this skill is a moneydrain.

Could you tell us what you spend the 110k on and how it got you to level 51?

cant be possible, for 50 you need atleast about 1,5k oak planks, and to get 1,5k oak planks it cost you 375k :?

1mil for 53 + 1.5k planks left over.

spending another 1.4mil on planks for 65 (so i can build a lecturn which allows tele to homer blocks to be made, barrows supreme placec after (tele room to canafis, alter, etc. etc.)

Heres a tip, make some tea, milky or not, when drunk it gives +2 construction temporarly.

rsn = popeater.

800k with 51, but i have 1k oak planks in bank atm and a few teaks.

CANE

Just to be different.

Think about it. A freaking Dragon Cane with a Dragonstone gem.

The spec will simply your character equiping a glove and beachslapping the enemy, who will break down and do the Cry emote for 10 seconds straight.

2.6m for 56 so far still have 2k oaks left, all rooms built most furnature bar the 1's with gold leaf (not paying 150k for a bit of gold lol) only like 216,000 oak planks at a cost of 54m to go till 99 lol

[removed]

think ive spent around 300-500k it will be nearer 500k when ive done the planks that gets me 50 (currently 43) i think their should be another way to get planks its very expensive and quite slow aswell

i agree their, everything from barrows sets to treasure trails has dropped a good 100k+ i was merchanting ranger sets for around 4.9m each and buying around 4.8m and i bought the one i have now for 4.4m luckily i stopped merchanting them a day or two earlier to focus on getting mage up by pest control but i cant now really

I've spent just over 5mil for lvl 56 cons, but I've been massively exuberant in my house and deleted rooms/replaced them as i've gone along. I also trained on mahog for a short while.

Either way, teak and mahog are expensive and (mahog especially) will remain so unless Jagex tweak the cost of making planks. Anything that you buy from the stone mason is hugely expensive except limestone.

The skill is definitely a complete drain on your bank account! Especially as flat pack furniture isn't of any great value and not many peeps are buying, though this might change I guess as time goes by, there are some really good things that I would consider buying if I don't get the required level (guilded altar would be a good example).

By the way, for those of you who haven't tried it yet, all flat pack furniture high alchs for 6gp
