BATO
Okay here i am going to say a little about myself i was born in former YUGOSLAVIA as some of you may know that it was in a civil war 1990-1996 or so. Well anyways i was born in 1990 so just as the war started. I lived in Bosnia a city called Zenica. Long story short Serb-bosnians(christians) fought the Bosniaks(musloms). Well i am serb. Well as my familly had to evacuate Zenica becuase to serb front lines broke and bosniaks were coming in like crazy. This happend 1993 I think i remmber it as like clips in my head well anyways. My Dad was holding me as my familly had to run threw a feild as bullets were heard ever where. We hit a mine field as my familly was running across lucky we did not hit any. Well anyways we made it to some refugee camp and were sent to some city idk what it is called. Well soon we got out of there. And i soon heard that my uncle died my house was burned down in Zenica with all my baby pictures which i have never seen, were also burned and also close familly friends were dead. So I JUST HATE WARS. Well now I am in THIS GREAT COUNTRY USA which is like a heaven for me. And still have memories of the fire on the houses and artilliry everwhere. HOPE I SPELLED EVERTHING CORRECT. As you know English is my second language.
Bubsa
Dude, it's made me extremely happy that you've managed to prevail! :D I hope you continue to prosper, it's a very uplifting story. Unfortunately, I can't share your optimism on war. As much as I'd love for wars to end, I think it would be impossible :( This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you. Ragen
I think that wars will never stop until we get rid of greed. And with the way society is looking at the moment, I think greed is on the increase. And with the way society is looking at the moment, I think greed is on the increase. Greed is something you feel. We can't just "get rid" of it - and there's really no proof that society is moving towards or away from more greed. It's something people feel and it's something people have always felt. jak722
Who would agree with me if I say that wars are necessary? In the event that the weighted companion cube does speak, the Enrichment Center urges you to disregard its advice.

Giordano
Who would agree with me if I say that wars are necessary? (On certain circumstances) Yep, on certain circumstances. As a wise man said: As long as there are men, there will be wars. "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is." Bmw
Who would agree with me if I say that wars are necessary? (On certain circumstances) Agreed. I HATE seeing innocent people die in the news. Sadly, the only way to help many are to seek out the people who wish to do them harm, and kill those people. It's often the only way. Look at al-Zarqawi....only way to stop him was to kill him. I'm all for a war if the causes are justified. In fact, I'm hoping to one day join the American or Japanese military working not in combat, but behind the "scenes" as a computer engineer. It's not because I like killing, it's because I want to help save innocent lives. If some have to die in the process, as harsh as it sounds, it has to happen. If I was given the choice to have innocent lives mistakenly killed by my military, or let them suffer under terrorists and such, It's kind of an obvious choice imo. :? Sorry to hear about what happened (poster) anyhow, it's very sad. I have a few friends who fled their countries from what was then Yukoslavia (sp?), and also Bosnia. :(
gandalfmight
As long as there is evil and corruption in the world there will always be wars. Due to someone getting the idea that they want even more. weezcake
As much as I'd like to get rid of wars and violence, it would be impossible with human nature. I hate wars because of the innocent casualties. Innocents die -- even though they are not involved in the conflict at all. Glad to hear your family made it though. :) ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring.

Omnislash42
First of all, your english is pretty good as your second language. I'm sure it's pretty tough to pick up English and become fluent. I'm glad you made it safely to the United States. Yeah, theres plenty of things wrong with the United States, I'll criticize it too when I feel its necessary, but it truely is a great nation. I'm certainly glad to be here with all the opportunities I have by living here. Unfortunately, wars will always be, but I hope as society progresses it can be less and less common. Yeah, society will never be perfect, but that doesn't mean it can't get better. I think we're heading the right direction, even when we take a step backwards, if that makes sense. As for current American wars, I cant remember if anyone already brought it up... But yeah. America is a country that views it as necessary to take preemptive action sometimes. It's a tough call really. Sit back and hope for the best, ignoring atrocities and death in the belief that it'll fix itself, or send your nation's sons to war and death, whether it is really necessary or not? I wouldn't want to be a politician that made that decision, whichever way I picked. It's not something I'd want to live with... It's a dilemma. But I think that the world is progressing with every good judgement as well as every mistake... Anyways, that's a little side tangent I think.
