Love your new one, Ard. :D I can't believe you can make this sort of thing in GIMP; I can't stand the program and it keeps blowing up on me. :(

(P.S., I saw you on 9th Wonders... haha, I recognised your sig. >< I absolutely adore Heroes. Cheers for the news on the next mini-series, though it's probably gonna come out several months late for us here. :()

Thanks for taking a look. Apophysis is the source of the fractal work. GIMP is only used for the background, border and signature work.

Ha. Too cool that you've been on 9th Wonders. It's a good fansite. I can't wait for the next season!

Thanks very much Ard, I now have a really nice desktop background. I am also fitting all my icons around the edge of the actual fractal, so it looks really nice.

I'm in love with some of the work you've done. Sure you see psychedelic looking pictures here and there but yours are like out of this world awesome. Do you have any specific link where to download Apophysis 2.06a, if it's free, or know of any guides on how to make things similar to what you've made?

edit: I downloaded 2.06c beta and the extra thing you also used. Unfortunately my computer crashed, my harddrive started making crunching noises, and when I rebooted my computer said it couldn't find an operating system. I restarted again and was fine, but unfortunately I don't think I'll be trying it again because I don't want to fry my harddrive or anything. I have to say though, I was having fun for the few minutes I tried that program out for. :)

Yikes. I'm sorry to hear that your hard drive got crunchy. I've not heard of Apophysis having that sort of impact.

Maybe you can play with it again one day.

Is Paint.net really that good, better than GIMP? I've heard some say. Can you get brushes for paint.net? I'd say fix the text on Heroes which says Ard_Choille., my favorite is serenity.

P.S: How do you pronounce your name, I've wondered? Ard Choll?

Or Ard Kollay?

I've not used Paint.net enough to make an accurate comparison. I really stick to GIMP for post work. I know a ton of people who prefer Paint.net over GIMP though.

The Heroes sig was revised in June. I use it on the Heroes site but pulled it from rotation here. Here's the latest:

"Ard Choille" (the wooded height or high wood) is the war cry of clan Gregor. The Gaelic pronunciation of Choille is khull-yuh.

Thanks for posting!

I really like your art! Fireswirl and molten are my favorite. <3: Also really like #6 under the photo manipulations! And no offence... but the shooting suns... they look like pepporonies (sp?) :XD:

Thanks for posting!

I agree on the pepperoni impression that one image gives. It was my first attempt at Bryce5. I'll have to tear myself away from Apophysis to try it out again.
