Rip Rita Repulsa from Power Rangers

Someone told me this and I was totally cut. I remember watching Power Rangers when I was about 8 and loving the show, so I decided to check it out.

Things like Rita Repulsa and Zedd came back aswell as putties.

From Wikipedia

The Putty Patrollers are the usually incompetent foot soldiers of Rita Repulsa, arch-villainess of the 1990s children's TV show, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Putties are known for their ineffectiveness in combat against the Power Rangers. Typical Putty tactics involve amassing in large numbers, dancing around enemies in a sort of half-crouch, striking menacing poses, emitting a constant warbling noise, and dematerializing after being thrown to the ground or struck with certain weapons. In a traditional Power Rangers plot, the battle with the Putties serves as a precursor to the final battle with a monster that invariably grows to the size of a sky-scraper.

Though they pose no real threat to the Power Rangers on their own, the Putties are extremely adept at performing their intended role as enemy "cannon fodder". They are used to perform any grunt work necessary to Rita's (and later Lord Zedd's) evil plans, such as: kidnapping, buying time for more powerful monsters to arrive, and looking particularly menacing.

Powerful blows to the Putties often produce a metallic "clanking" sound. There is some speculation that this is not actually the sound of the a blow to the Putties' exteriors, but rather, is the sound made by Putties when they cry. This, however, has no scientific or factual basis supported by concrete evidence.

During their servitude to Lord Zedd, the Putty Patrollers were upgraded to Super-Putties. They are slightly more intelligent and dangerous than their previous personas but can still be defeated easily by the Power Rangers. They wear gray-suits with a Z on their chests. These Putties can only be defeated by hitting the Z on their chests, afterwards they'll disintegrate

Power Rangers has to be one of the best series ever! Some links for other info.

My friends and I used to fight over who was the best Power Ranger. I always said red was the best.

Good times...I used to watch that show, then go dropkick a lamp or something.

I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.

I owned a couple of action figures when I was little.

I'll just leave it at that. :-w

Yeah well, so do I then. I think I was 9 when it came out here, and even then I hated it. It wasn't funny, it wasn't spectacular and it was nothing else but beating up 'the bad guys'. Nothing wrong with beating up the bad guys, I love Bond-films etc, but if you make a film, a cartoon or a series about it, add some other value in it, like humour, which is obviously lacking in that show.

I didn't think she was that old. But I remember watching the show when I was about 6. Man, those were the days. Ya know, sit back, watch Power Rangers all day, have a few drinks (fruit punch that is). Good ol' days.

+1, I've never seen that show either. I doubt it was really popular. But then again I never watch TV.

Meh, Power Rangers is annoying now anyway. Too many spinoffs and such.
