Giordano
Lol, Bloody Mary...I remember all the kids talking about it in 4th grade lol cyco, thats wrong. The universe has no "edge". It goes on forever. I for one believe in ghosts. I never had an encounter with one, but I believe in them. I believe to make life you need a speical arragement of elements and chemicals, like how to make a pencil, how to make a computer, a forumla really, just that it isn't known yet. Some occations, when you die your "soul" (the chemicals to make life) does not die with the rest of your body. Because this "soul" still has your DNA, it can make a "copy" of your body. This might take time though, and eventully it is the form when the person just died. Then I dont know what ghosts do, so thats the end. Anesthesia
I couldn't breathe, I was just, lying there, I tried to take a breath but I couldn't, my throat was tight and everything was completely still... I'm telling you now, it's the freakiest thing in the world not to be able to move. It's called sleep paralysis. Not a ghost, or the paranormal. Some people are changed by being a moderator. issy2
Meh, yeah probably... What about the three o clock thing? And Tess coming in when she's usually locked in the kitchen? Alright, that's probably what it was..But honestly it's the freakist thing EVER!!!!

Anesthesia
Meh, yeah probably... What about the three o clock thing? And Tess coming in when she's usually locked in the kitchen? Just because something was unlikely to happen doesn't make it impossible. As for the time thing, I have something similar. On days when I had lectures I'd wake up at 07:10, 5 mins before my alarm, without fail. Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be. Noobish111
One happened last night. I woke up at like two and as usual I went to look out my window. In it, I saw a black human like figure moving as if he was pacing in my front yard. Then I heard my front door creak. Right about now I was like "Oh crap!" I rushed down the stairs and didn't see anything. I think it was my grandfather who passed away a while ago. I also saw an orb  ! lunapasa
What about the three o clock thing? I don't know if there's a name for it but I can sometimes control when I wake up. If I know I have to be awake by 7am and think about that before I start sleeping I wake up at 6:55am. Maybe you did this without realizing it. Pandaman115
I've read and given a report on ghosts....forget about some of the stuff. It was like phsychic things, ghosts, the afterlife, and such. I've heard that when you're about to go to heaven (If you do), you're in a dark tunnel, and light creatures are carrying you along... I believe that if you try hard enough, you won't die, but come back. Complicated, none the less. reading these makes my skin crawl and makes me shiver... PROOF of aliens, oh really? When was stated exactly?? I have no doubt that aliens exist but there really is no proof. Anyway, as for ghosts, I think it's possible. I mean, like I said earlier, my grandparents lived in a haunted house. My grandpa told me but I didn't believe him and then my grandma (who absolutely never lies and I mean NEVER, she doesn't even joke) told me that my grandpa was telling the truth. Also, there was this house somewhere that was legally declared haunted in court and was torn down. I believe in ghosts but I don't believe they are mean or that they actually interact with us. We can just see them or feel them sometimes.

Rilha
Dude no offence but it was probably just your dad getting up to get a drink of water or something. That explains why he went into your dads room. I mean it was the middle of the night ofcourse he would look like a shadow! Er, I would have seen him and heard him walking. I have freakishly good night vision. Plus, he sleeps like a log.:? I love languages.J'adore les langues.ÃÆÃ
Rilha
well i allways think its just some playthingie from your brain. like your brain is getting allways energy trough the blood and stuff even when u sleep so your brain can like play things wich explain dreams. i think a ghost is something your brain makes up when its hyperactive My brain IS admittedly on overdrive. xD However, what are the chances that after that thoroughly creepy encounter, my dad would get cancer? Tigra00
Ghost aren't real. This is what I believe. Well i don't think any of you have heard this before.. it's rather classified information.. but anyway.. Our planet sits on the edge of a galaxy known as the Milky Way. Since the explosion which triggered the beginning of everything, the universe has been constantly expanding outwards with aftershock tremors constantly washing over us in waves. The Milky Way is traveling at several thousand km per second and the estimated speed the universe is expanding is close to the speed of light. When you hit light speed your physical structure expands and begins to phase out into subspace. So when you hit light speed you are actually traveling forward in time. Because most of the aftershock of the forming of the universe is traveling faster than its expanding it hits the edge of the universe. This actually causes the Subspace/Time spectrum to bend backwards to which the waves wash back over the universe in the opposite direction. * does that have to do with ghosts you say? When the waves wash over earth they pick up discharged matter and continue to the end of the universe. They then get bounced back off the edge of the universe and wash back over earth causing the matter to be discharged back onto the planet. This discharge you will see as Ghosts or shimmers of matter which existed a long time ago. Depending on how much and how charged the matter has become you could see such images for up to a minute or two at a time, but there's no real need to worry about them. They are simply shimmers from the past, nothing more. Uhh.... The Universe is estimated to be 14 billion years old. That makes the radius of the Universe some 14 billion light years wide, and the diameter 28-ish billion light years wide. I'm assuming the Universe is a giant Sphere, since "The Big Bang" would release energy and matter in all directions, there is really no other "shape" it could be. Assuming your theory were possible, this "matter" would have to be traveling faster than the speed of light, which is impossible in itself. The Universe is expanding at the speed of light, therefore your "matter" would never be able to catch up. The Universe would have to be not expanding at all, and I'd love to see you tell that one to scientists............. First of all how do you know the universe is 28BLY wide. And no its not impossible to go faster than the speed of light. I'm assuming it's 28 billion light years wide, because I am assuming it is a sphere. It could be a half-sphere and then only be 14 billion light years wide, but that would mean there would have to be a force outside of the Universe, which most scientists agree, there probably isn't anything outside of it. Infact I believe I read that to ask what is "outside" of the Universe is a meaningless question. And yes, it isn't possible to go faster than the speed of light. I believe Einstien's theory of relativity makes it impossible. So to put it bluntly, it's physically impossible. The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me!
mixand
ive had alot of experiences, but ever since ive lived here (my new home been here 5years very nice home :) ) nothing. my mum said when i was arround 2 when i lived in queensland i had a toy that made music, but one day at night it stopped, and my mum went to turn it back on because i was crying, but for some reason she saw it spinning arround by its self, and i laughed and went back to sleep. another time was when i was 9 and their was a chimnee (i havnt seen that word in ages forgot how to spell  ) and in my room their was a faint outline of a door, where their chimnee went to.. their was a light switch too... it was scary of the thought that somthing was in their, somtimes at night when i woke up i went to go to the kitchen but it was pitch black and i was to scared to go in so i went back to bed.. that day our house nearly caught on fire when a candle fell down and no one touched it.. but we put it out, im actully pretty nervous reading and remembering these things.. cause no one else is awake and its 11:30pm :( i dont know if its my mind playing tricks on me, but im just glad nothing happens to me anymore.. exept my little brother is scared and has nightmares alot  "If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. bull912000
About the first post, I have an explination about the shadow. When you are about to sleep, your mind disconnects your ability to see. If you are drousy and focus on something, you will see a dark blotch. I he was walking down the hall with something to focus on, it can be mistaken as a shadow, and if you keep focusing on it, it will appear to move. Anesthesia
Indeed, it's controlled by the suprachiasmatic nucleus - a part of the hypothalamus, destruction of which results in irregular sleep patterns. It's not just sleep that is regulated by the SCN but other things too, such as the body's temperature at different times of the day (we go through a period of low body temperature in the early hours of each morning). Hooray for A-level psychology. Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.
