(I don't know if I'm making sense). What are you afraid of? What is the name of your phobia? Me, I'm scared of the dark (blushes right now) yeah I can't walk into a dark room I'd curl up into a ball and I'm 15 years old (on july 30th I am 15). I don't know a specific name for this type. So perhaps your phobia is called umbraphobia? Umbra, I thought, is Latin for shadow or darkness. But a phobia is something very very serious, if darkness makes you think you're going to die, then you can call it phobia, if you simply don't like it at all, it's kinda normal. For those who are wondering, fear of the dark is called achluophobia. EDIT: I have a friend that has genuine catoptrophobia which is the fear of mirrors. I can't swim because the whole thing of being in water scares the smeg out of me :( Like, when they had The Blue Planet on TV not so long ago, I swear, it's the scariest thing I've seen in years. reddawn509 Posted July 6, 2006 Share Posted July 6, 2006 I am terrified of all spiders, mainly because when I was younger I was playing outside when i ran through a spider web, and the spider landed on my head, and crawled around in my hair (which is quite curly so it got kinda...ensnared) I freaked out and ran around screaming until my dad pushed it off. Then the very next day i felt a tingling feeling on my leg and see this spider crawling up my legs..I freka out agian. Then again, if anything tried to grab me, I'd bring out the ol' one-two combo and be all 'Sit, noob!' Yeah. Jaws ain't got nothing on me. I really wouldn't call it an era.
