Revenga
Well, I just started pitching and I was outside with my dad, pretty much owning fastballs. I'm 14 and I was pitching 70ish MPH (well at least my dad said..) is that good for someone that plays in 7th-8th grade baseball? Was just curiouse does anyone out there play baseball? If so, what position. Kinda random post anyway. |Msg me me in-game | IrreIephant| ^ capital i
deloriagod
70ish mph is pretty good for 14. The pitcher for our highschool team can pitch at near 95 mph and I think he's probly a junior. I used to play baseball, but I don't anymore. I used to play short stop. Internet Marketing For Newbies
kido14
You should have titled the thread "Come here to show off how quickly you can throw a baseball." Anyways, I used to play baseball until about 7th grade. Then I stopped. No offense but I think baseball is one of the only sports where you don't really have to be in physical shape to play. Fadfdfd
:x HELL YEAH!. I'm 13 and I was just in 12 year old all-stars (cut-off date) Anyway, our team is 1-2 with our last game tomorrow versus the 3-0 team, so we can't make it past our district :(. We'll try to knock em off though. The pitcher had to be 60+ and from 45', that is not much reaction time. Anyway, here was our box score 0 Runs 0 Hits Lots of errors While they had 1 error on a mis-throw, making it a no-hitter. Pitcher had 17 strikeouts (3 outs*6 innings=18. All but one out) and had a perfect game with 1 out in the 6th :x He was fast :S. But at 14, 70 MPH, it could have been slower, but that's not to shabby actually. You should be pitching around 90 MPH, 80 in High School, in your glory days. :-w Yeah they'll pass you by Glory Days! In the wink of a young girls eye, Glory Days. Glory Days! - Bruce Springsteen :-w Heh heh. But you are good at 70 MPH. That's actually exceptional for a 14 year old. Oh your other question, I play CF. Had a full extension diving catch in our last game \ Right after my friend (our pitcher) gave up back-to-back jacks (homeruns). The 2nd one was absolutely crushed. Had to be 250+ feet. knives669
Your pitching speed is pretty good. ^_^ I like playing baseball. ^_^ It's fun, but I haven't played in a long time. I always own my friends at it because I bat both left and right-handed. :P
Bubsa
As a Brit, I'm interested in many U.S sports and often thought about playing them, however, baseball has always been an exception. I don't know what it is, but the sport has never really appealed to me. Actually, I know what it is. It was ever since I saw that absolutely horrible movie with Matt LeBlanc and a chimp called Ed (I think). Oh my God, horrible. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you. bantam222
accuracy over speed any day those fireballers might do well in little league when half the kids can't hit and you got no fielding behind you...but once you get to highschool/collage level your 85mph fastball down the middle of the plate will be getting smacking, you also get tired faster. unknownmasterofnothing
Baseballs kinda boring. Only when you're up to plate is it fun. But then its a lot of waiting. Pitching is ok. Being a basemen is kinda boring also.

bantam222
nononono catcher is where its at, you get to be "in the action" every pitch (on defence at least), and a good catcher can catch around 90% of the innings. Even the best pitchers can only get in 25% of the innings on the mound. Plus not a lot of pressure...if you know what your doing at least. Ground ball in the infield, you miss it, your suppost to make that play. Runner trys to steal and you don't throw him out, no worries, a good catcher can only get about 40% of the runners anyway. nvw08
I used to play baseball, untill I was 12 I was an all star in pretty much every season I played (I was a first baseman) Lotsa fun :D I was the best hitter on my team although I was never a power hitter, really for average . I stopped at 13 because it stopped appealing to me, I don;t know why it just did :? But when I did PE at my highschool, we did something simular to baseball and it was called 'rounders', I actually found it more fun than cricket! No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.
