why construction is a great skill (extremely long)

well i have seen way to many posts about how bad con is and how they shouldn't have made it and on and on blah blah blah... well your wrong! construction has tons of things that are great about it! so here i will make some lists of reasons why con rocks. (this could get pretty long. once i start typing i find it hard to stop) :uhh:

 

 

 

 

 

ok!

 

 

 

1. you CAN make money off of construction. i made a post about this on another thread so here's what i said to that guy:

 

ok i have something to say for everyone to hear. though most people say its fun but not a money maker i know its actualy a really good money maker. here are some of the ways i made money on poh. (of course some of these you wont see much anymore because this was when poh was still pretty new. but you can probably still get money for it)

 

 

 

1. i had just joined as member had 69 wc so i thought to make some money i'll sell planks.i cut down 500 oak logs in no time. planked in just an hour or so and then sold them 500k. half a mill in like 2 hours and i was only at lvl 55 so that was pretty damn good. over the next month i probably made a total of around 3 or 4 mill. (darn price drops)

 

 

 

2. i was just surfing the forums and i saw a post "buying all cloth 1k each" ok then! i went and bought 400 cloth cost me about 250k and sold them for 400k! easy money!

 

 

 

3. i was just bored and i was playing around and i made 6 clockworks for fun (thats 6 steel bars that cost 600g each) went outside and said "selling clockwork" this guy runs up and gives me 10k! 15 minutes later i have 60k. so thats like 5k or something into 60k in no time.

 

 

 

4. though i havn't been able to do this myself i saw a guy selling berrals of chefs delite for 60k each. and people were buying! thats good money.

 

 

 

 

 

so what i'm saying is... construction is just an awsome skill!!

 

 

 

 

 

2. here are a ton of totaly random things you can do in POH that rock

 

 

 

tele room is just awsome. you can use any ancients tele as well as normal tele's. and i could go way further into how awsome that is but that would take forever to type.

 

 

 

and tele tablets!! i dont have one those in my house... but i think they tele you like normal runes. but they only take 1 space! i think thats what they do...

 

 

 

also you can tele with glory limitlesly! i wonder if thats really a word...

 

:-k anyway! i think this is one of the best things about POH. you can use this for lots of things! AND ALOT OF THINGS I USE GLORY WILL MAKE YOU MONEY MUCH FASTER!!

 

like here are some things you can do using glory:

 

 

 

fishing. if you have low lvl fishing them karamja is a good place to fish right? so all you need is some law runes (and air staff)

 

you can tele to cammy store fish you got then withdrawel 1 earth and tele to your house, use glory to go to karamja and fish more... and repeat. this is so much faster than walking.

 

 

 

LAW RUNNING!! there are alot of law runners out there and i dont think i have ever seen someone that has used this stradigy. tele to your house and use glory to go to drayner, get your 27 ess and a bunch of air runes! then go and exchange for laws and all but rather than walking all the way back now you have laws and airs! tele to cammy get a earth rune tele to your house and then back to drayner!! it takes half as much time as walking. (though it takes 2 of the laws you get so if you really need them bad it won't work for you)

 

 

 

plus i've noticed when buying and selling things alot of people like to meet in edgville. i dont know why but you can also tele there.

 

 

 

training room. you can train here! get a combat ring and you can get alot of exp and alot of fun! get your friends and train on eachother! the best thing is when you die you come right back with maxed out stats agian. this means you can use your prayer all you want. this means you can use the str and att bonuses for more damage and more exp. and if you get to a really high lvl you can make ranging things! and train your archery! and theres a balencing beam... i dont know if that increases your agility... could someone with a beam tell me that? (oh! and you can use those really cool boxing gloves! they look so awsome)

 

 

 

your butlers! they can go and get stuff for you! now if thats not awsome i dont know what is. and cook is really good for food. for example she makes pinneapple pizza... that heals 22 hp! how much does shark heal? oh ya... 20! and you get 9 pizza's for 3k.... 9 sharks costs three times as much. plus if you get a ton of people over while they are having fun you can secretly go and get like 8 pizza's really fast.

 

 

 

games room! this is fun! and sometimes i think people need to be reminded... RUNESCAPE IS A GAME! GAMES ARE MEANT FOR YOU TO HAVE FUN! try to remember that. and you can get more ranging training here on dartboards and that other thing :-k

 

 

 

your bedroom dressor! you can change your clothes and hair and beard! thats just great! i mean if you get bored with the way you look you can just go to your house and change it. easy.

 

 

 

painted armour! how awsome is being able to paint your shield, helm and even make a banner! this is really good for all you tired of looking just like everyone else. and banners can really fun in castle wars. try taking one and see how many mistake if for a real one and chase you! :XD:

 

 

 

toy cats! for those who are to lazy to do the or take care of their animals! a fake one! and there are the mouses that run around doing nothing!

 

 

 

book shelves! most people dont know but when you complete a quest any book that you needed for that quest goes in your book shelve! well actualy you can get another one there. this saves bank space.

 

 

 

tool store! how many times have you come to your house ready for some building are reolized.... i forgot my hammer... here's another one! and pretty much any tool you need is right there!! that can be really good if your doing a quest and didn't know you needed a spade. just go get one!

 

 

 

beer! you can get as drunk as you want! this is more something to do for fun. drink 100 beers so your attack is at 0 then fight your friends. or! chefs delight! you can get your cooking up and cook in your house! plus the larder has all the suplies needed to make all the cake you want! (for low lvl cookers)

 

 

 

barrows armour repair! i dont have any barrows armour so i dont really know about this one. but i do think that you can repair it either for free or for alot less... i'm not sure

 

 

 

guilded alter! this is the best thing that could possibly happen if your training prayer. for example say you want to get up 5 lvls and it will take 200 dragon bones. go to your alter and you'll get those 5 lvls with only 50 bones!! that saves you about 350k

 

 

 

entertainment. this alone could go on for 10 pages. there are so many ways to entertain yourself in your house. here are some i know of.

 

talk to your cook. she is really sarcastic which can be really funny.

 

stuffed heads. you can get stuff heads of monster and those are some really fricken funny talks! glitches. there are still some glitches and those are so much to play with. the games of course. see how good you know all the emotes with the joker. play hangman! see who can hit the highest! one time a lvl 16 walked into my house and used the cammy tele. he couldn't get back! he was stuck in cammelot! man that was funny. in your throne room you can watch people walk on the trap door and fall to their deaths! practice your pking in your dungoun. the ways just go on and on.

 

 

 

a cat basket! ....... i dont really know what this is for... but its kinda cool

 

 

 

and of course. just to have something of yours! you can do whatever you want to it! build it however you want! go there and hang out! talk you your friends in private, have parties, get away from annoying people, plot taking over the world, anything you want! its your house! you own it! its yours! have some fun!

 

and that is why construction is a good skill

Save yourself the "tele to cammy, withdraw an earth and a law, tele to house" cycle. If you have the level for it, build a Study room with an Eagle Lectern, and use soft clay and the appropriate runes to make yourself some teleport tablets. You get the same magic xp for making a tablet as you do for casting the teleport spell to begin with. Tablets are stackable, just like runes. And best of all, they are tradeable, so you can make a ton of your favorite teles and sell them to others or give them away. No more enduring "tele to cammy plzzzzzzz", just sell a Camelot Teleport tablet.

 

 

 

Since I am currently exploring the new Lunar Spells, I made a ton of Teleport to House and Camelot Teleport tablets for my own use. I have two Portal rooms inside my home with the other six teleport portals permanently established, so I haven't made stacks of any of the other teleport tablets.

oh and if you talking about the law running part of the guide you could to that but no one would give you any laws. cause you only get laws if you have 27. thats the number. if you bring an earth you can only take 26. and you'll never get anything like that

I agree, construction is a great skill. Jagex can still add plenty more to it as well, it is just one more skill that they can branch off from. Girlded altar ftw. Although, I would like to know more about the barrows fixinf thing you said, I never heard of that before. :D

I love PoH's one thing though (and I have tried it), you can't take those pizzas out of your house (not even if you teleport) they will simply dissapear. As for healing more, yes they do, but they are 2 clicks not one...which makes a big deal with alot of people. Otherwise I absolutely love Construction.

yah anchovie pizzas heal 18 but are 2 clicks they are good for training not pking. but if you cannot take the pizzas our of your house then...........not much of a huge use.

I saw 2 questions in the last few posts I figured i'd answer.

 

 

 

Repairing Barrows armour

 

You can build an armour repair stand in your workshop. If you use damaged barrows armour on it, it will be repaired at a discount price! It is based on your smithing and for each lvl you have, the cost is reduced 0.5%. Therefore with lvl 60 smithing u repair armour at a 30% discount. With 80 smithing you would receive a 40% discount.

 

 

 

Guilded Alter

 

You need lvl 72 (an then drink the +3 tea u can make In the kitchen) to build the best alter - and it will cost about 3 million to set up. However once it is built you can gain prayer xp at 350% xp per bone!

 

When praying you take 2 marentill, a tinderbox an the rest invent as bones (dragon bones -for the win!). Put and light the marentil on each burner then pray at alter. Super quick, super high xp. especially if the house is in yanille as so close to bank

i completly agree, i mean i did at first agree with these arguers, cause i started to relise, that the gold plates and stuff were a bit expensive, and i didn't mind, just got a little angry, but construction gives some advantages to soo many skills, so many options, with barrows, depending on your smithing, you can get half price off repairs... YAY, that pretty much covers the cost right there

There is a ton to do with construction, but like someone said its brand new too and only been out for 2 months. Soon I expect some quest to do with construction or with your house. Maybe, like garden of tranquility the queen of varrock needed a garden, well maybe she's tired of her castle too and wants to tear it down and you need to build her a new one.

 

 

 

But wait till they expand on it. Right now there is plenty to keep everyone entertained (for the past 2 months) and in probably another month there will be brand spanking new stuff that expands on it even more

Doesn't Ecto give 500 % i could be wrong but i thought i saw that... and for the money making part its more merchanting than construction, but your right when you say that constructions fun :thumbsup:
