I can't believe some people look at this religion and say, "Yep. This is the truth!".

i cant believe some people look at any of these new "religions" ( no im not talking about the great 3 and i dont want another discussion) and say,"yep, this is the truth"

And these reactions to Scientology are exactly what people should be saying to most mainstream religions.

I looked all over the Scientology website, and I didn't see anything about this stupid thing about a ruler with over-population.

It could be worse. It could be a religion that demands its members to kill other people for not believing the same thing.

This is the way the world ends. Look at this [bleep]ing shit we're in man. Not with a bang, but with a whimper. And with a whimper, I'm splitting, Jack.

hmmm the story looks a lot like the GWAR history :-k :-k

the big lord of the universe got bored of ruling the universe, he tried to kill all the people in the universe since this rules was a sadist,

the people became angry at the lord and the lord summoned the band GWAR to protect him, all of the universe was dead and GWAR decided to kill the big lord since they where bored, the failed and where put on earth where they played cricket at stonehange and then started humanity...

both bullcrap :-k both funny L-k

not everybody wants to hear the bubblegum pop garbage.

im gonna burn in hell and drink all of satans beer.

trashmetal/deathmetal/hardrock/folkmetal die hard

Damn right. Compare that to some of the other stuff these 'sane' theists believe and there is little difference. Each is just as likely to have really happened.

The only thing is that a hindu or a christian can't look at their beliefs from an objective point of view because that's what they consider to be real. To them it doesn't sound ridiculous that there is a man with four arms and the head of an elephant riding on a mouse because that is completely real.

Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

Well i do agree on that. The belief itsef about Xenu and all that stuff is completely harmless, and i guess not much different from today's other religions. But it's not that part why i dislike the Church so much, it's their power and authority over people's lives that i can't stand

Xxytmndxx.png

Harmless? If it is taking over people's lives, affecting their relationships with their families and severely draining their money then it is far from harmless.

Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

You're sorta contradicting yourself between those two posts you made, but w.e. No it's not the beliefe about xenu or whatever that cripples people, its the demand for money and allegiance to Scientology that does the real damage.

Xxytmndxx.png

How am I contradicting myself? The things that people believe don't have to be real for their belief in them to affect their lives.

Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

OMG i wish people would listen to ME when i spout crap!

it's not crap, it's true.

Scientology is more than an idiotic joke, it does ruin lives, it hurts families, the single, anyone. You get no freedoms, and you lose all of your possesions. I thought the story behind it was hillarious, so i posted that, but in reality, it's scary what these people do. It's worse than charles manson with his whole helter skelter thing, or even Waco, Tx.

Scientology needs to be stopped, before it can hurt anyone else

Its a celebrity fad religion. They they bothered actually reading any of this stuff they would realise how bs it all is. Unfortunatly celebs have minders and "yes men" following them all day agreeing with whatever crazy ideas they come up with so they never question the absurdity of it.

Exactly, its Scientology one day then its Kabala the next  . You'd think these celebrities would put a little thought into their religious beliefs and not be as fickle as to follow every stupid little trend.

He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart,

and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God.

- Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)

though i do not agree with the teachings of scientology, it is no more ridiculous than the stories of our religions. Judaism believes that a man talked to a burning bush and parted a whole ocean by waving a stick. Christianity believes that a man walked on water and made bread and fish appear out of nowhere.

I had no problem with scientology, however that is until Issac Hayes (Chef from South Park) and other prominent scientologists took a crusade to make sure no one ever made a joke about scientology.

Tom Cruise even went so far as to try to get South Park taken off the air for their episode titled "Trapped in the Closet", which was banned from the airways for several months because of him blackmailing Viacom (the company that owns Comedy Central). Therefore, i am on a boycott. I will not watch any movies staring Tom Cruise.

Yea...Ever see the Dianetics HQ building? Looks like Bill Gates' house.

While people have a point saying that Scientology is no more crazy than other religions, which is somewhat true...I think Scientology is just way more crazy due to the fact of how many "Uh...Repeat that again? You're trying to tell me what now...?" the "religion" actually has. 100 light year travel, in 4 weeks, in a DC-8 with rocket engines on it? H-bomb use? World's with 180 some billion people on them EACH? Imagine our already crowded world with almost 30 times as many people...It just isn't possible. No damn room! Nevermind that there is no historical facts to even begin to prove this crud. No evidence, nothing. At least the bible was written thousands of years ago and is technologically accurate. Sure, they're both stories...But I can choose to believe people who were supposed to be prophets and all this other stuff, or I can believe...A fat, drunken science fiction novelist that was alive during my grandma's lifetime.

Pretty easy choice, if I had to pick.

Edit: I should also say, that even as a Science Fiction novel, it ISN'T a very good story. I've thought up better myself...While dreaming...

The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past.

- Me!

:wall: I'm sorry to all Scientologists out there but you are amazingly gullible. This is a ton of bs

hahaha, i never thought people would read this, or flame me for being mean to Scientologists. You guys all rock!

Scientologists spent a lot of time and effort to get their IRS tax exemption back after they lost it in a 1967 IRS audit. As part of those efforts during the late 1970's, Scientologists infiltrated the United States Internal Revenue Service and stole confidential documents in what was termed "Operation Snow White". Eleven high-ranking Scientologists, including Hubbard's wife Mary Sue Hubbard, served time in federal prison for their criminal acts during this infiltration of the IRS.
Doesn't sound too harmless :-w
