Mining is still the best f2p money making skill ?

Runemining is the best way to earn money

I got around 1-1.2 loads (27 ores each) per hour on f2p. That is easily over 300k.

You mean Runcrafting??

I'm an officialer wizard miner in Rune Scape, so get away or I'm gonna confuse your chicken! (I like doing that, you know)

Heh I remember when Iron was at 50gp each...

And yes I do believe so that mining is the best money making skill in f2p.

A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.

but pking is better i got 25 mith ore 2day from it.

I get 25 mith ore in less than an hour from mining...Like I've said, mining is a great way for F2P to make money, and I made 90-95% of my money (when I was F2P) from it.

Ithil luin eria vi menel caran...Tîn dan delu.

Mining probably is. But dont forget to include runecrafting.

I made over 50 mill runecrafting with runners at the air altar. I am not upto date on prices though.

1 trade per 10 seconds is a fair (low) approximation if anyone wants to do the calcs.

Mining is probably the best money making skill in F2P. Many of you have said that you think the prices are holding pretty stable which isn't really true. When I joined a year ago coal was 150 each and iron 50 each. Then at some point the price jumped to 200 each for coal and 100 each for iron. It held like that until about a month ago when it dropped to 180 each for coal. Increasingly prices in the Mining and Smithing markets are going down. Steel that you used to be able to sell for 600 each is now hard to sell even at 560 each. My main point is that, yes it is profitable but it's also less stable than the markets for, say, woodcutting or fishing.

Merchanting is the best money making tactik, but if you use skills mining is best.

Well, so many people merchant now that it's becoming harder and harder to make huge profits. You might still be able to make a profit from merchanting, but it will never be as high as it used to be before everyone and their mother knew about it.

I runecraft to make money. However, you need a high enough level.

And you also have to be p2p to make more then like 2k per hour :(

Pay attention, it's a f2p only topic.

I would saying mining is, look at rune. You can get 22 rune per trip, (rune pick, a couple of binds, 2 pizzas in inventory.) That is 12-13k per ore or 264k-286k per load.

Many of you claim that runite mining is the best money skill for f2p.

Just curious as to how much is the average number of runite ore you can get in an hour ? (now I am not talking about the maximum you can mine in an hour but more of the average number of runite ore/hour over maybe 100 hours of runite mining over a month period)

My average is only about 25 ore/hour over prelong period (inclusive of unlucky days when i got pked)

Hello,

Yes i agree that mining is a good option and good money maker.....for now. But let me suggest something....bare with me.

Mining was a good way of making descent money, but why the drop in prices? The majority of the blame would go towards macroing. Why? you ask me. Well during my first few months of RuneScape, the way of making money was mining - during this time there were hardly macroers (1 or 2 atleast) and the prices were in its 200 - 240 ea mark. I have just recently returned to the dull undergrounds of the mining guild to train.... and to my surprise there were 5+ macroers in every f2p world i went to. Who knows how numerous they will get....only time will tell. Farmilar story with the other skills that got ruined? :boohoo:

So if you are going to use a skill which will help you through your future of runescaping i suggest merchanting or runecrafting ::' ( if you have the time and patience). And have you seen many macroers who have merchanting or runecrafting as a skill?

So my theory is that you should mine for now to make some fair money and use it to help level runecrafting - hey thats what im doing! Just investing for the future \'

There's not much to worry about price drops on rune ores though, but steel bars might go down in the near future. Why rune bars won't go down is because of the high alching value of the items that can be made with bars, and bars come from ores. A medium helmet only requires 1 bar, and you can high alch it for 11.52k.

If the macroers could make a macro for mining, woodcutting, fishing, smelting, and even crafting, why can't they make one for runecrafting?

On topic: I think the changes in price are a function of the fact that it is summer. As most people who play this game are under 18, their summers are free. This means that there is a large influx of players buying and mining/cutting/crafting goods. The changes in price are more of a function of sudden change in market dynamics than in the prescence of macros who play whenever and wherever they can, summer or not.

Id say fighting is the best money maker

kill giants get their bones and sell em for 300gp ea is pretty easy if you want my opinion and it might somtimes equal the serveral hours on forums trying to sell a mask for the .01 profit ull make on the price u bought it

You can't reach perfection if you don't aim for it.

Runecrafting is a great way to wrack in the money when you get around level 45 RC. That's what I'm doing right now. :P

You'll probably get more money per hour with 99 att/str than with 99 mining.

its overall... like 250k coal = 99 mining = 50mil...

but rune is a great way f money making... and what do you want to do with 99 str / atk? (isnt it easyer to train 1 skill to 85 then 2 skills 99?)

For those of us who can't mine rune ore... Try high alching.

Raises your smithing.

Mining is still the best for people who can't.

Knitting. At level 1, you can make fuzzy mittens. At level 50, fuzzy rainbow sweaters. At level 99? Fuzzy pink toe socks.

Oh yeah.
