Most of you already know this but Evil Dave's Stew (from the Recipe for Disaster quest) will boost/reduce any skill up to 6 lvls. I knew this for a long time, but I just now realized a few of the possibilities such as:

85 Runecrafting - 2x Nature Runes

 

69 Construction - Gilded Altars

 

69 Farming - Magic Trees

 

93 Smithing - Full Rune

 

79 Mining - Mine Rune

 

79 Slayer - Abyssal Demon(s)

 

99 Prayer - 105 Prayer capacity

 

84 Crafting - Amulets of Fury

 

93 Construction - Any piece of furniture

I'm looking to get another hellcat, mine left when I died with it :( So this could be an excuse to make me some stew :D

I didn't think of that, but I'm sure to try that to make my guilded altar. Saves me a lot of money going from 69 to 72. Take a bunch of spicy stews, some restores, and try until I have it, then jump of joy :)

It's quite useful for most of the non-combat skills, but definatly not a good idea to rely on them for things like potting to tb/barrage. Would really suck if it ended up lowering magic by 6 instead of raising it.

from my experiance, it lowers it more often than it raises it (took me 17 spicy stew to get a +5 construction bonus to make the firepit )

Construction doesn't work. Two of my friends did 20+ stews apiece... it doesn't affect construction.

They did fix it not too long ago, I remember Supuh telling me about it.

There random and mess it up, i tried them and 50% of the time they may work.

lol, why not use them? for things like construction they're excellent

nice find :shock: , but people are saying you have a 50% chance of lowering or raising your skill. I wouldnt really mind trying it out, but i never have the time atm lol #-o

Yes it owns for non-combat skills, mainly gilded altars for construction....

 

You have to make a few stews since you can't rely on one stew doing all the job.

 

 

 

Restore pots can become handy.

I used then to make a fury at 85.

 

A big pain, since they lower more than than they raise.

 

To get back you have to use a super restore since nothing else raises crafting.

 

I made another at 87, more manageable, but still a pain.

maybe instead of actually getting 61 construction for lunar diplomacy, i'll use a stew....i only need a +3...

Took me over 2 hours to get a +4 stew to make a gilded alter in my house. Plus you can only make one stew at a time. I found this out the hardway by making 10 and dropping each one after to make another, just to find out they stayed spicy but then said "no orange spice has been added"

Edit// Also n64 you need the level 61 crafting to start the quest, i tried to start it with 59 mining and dwarven stout and i couldn't, so i'm guessing crafting is the same.

Just so you know, you can't use stat-raising items for theiving in Desert Treasure. You need the actual level. :cry:

 

 

 

And how do you plan on using it to teleblock or ice barrage? Just tell someone "Hey, you mind not teleporting for a bit? I gotta play around with some stews until I get one that allows me to teleblock you..." :roll: :lol: :lol: :lol:

The most annoying thing about Spicy Stews is that you can't combine a 3 and a 1 container of spice (or two 2s) to make a 4, which would save bank space and would be much more elegant than the current system.

They are not reliable, you have to get 3 doses of ONE color to be able to raise skills by 6, because each color represents a few different skills. Then the stew can raire OR lower ANYTHING up to 6, so it could raise it by 2, or 4, or lower by 3, or 1. They are not that good.

ok thanks, getting a ton of orange spice now :)

yeah lol i made and droped like 20 stews so i could cook the stuffed snake at lev 65 cooking. go to stone and take stew. find out that the other ones wont work. just ended up wasting a couple hrs geting spices when all i needed to do was post on forums "buying chef delight(M). lol

 

 

 

im only using them again because i dont have a couple thousand herbs to get from 52 57 herblore for faire tale 2.
