f2p updates in the future?

does anyone think that jagex will update anything for f2p users? i began playing b4 RS2 with the plain RS. over time the members got new skills, new everything. i no that since we dont pay we dont get these things but its been sum time now. if they update sum stuff for us im sure that they can lure more ppl into becoming members which means more $$$ for them.

There's already a f2p update last month where they add in stronghold of security. There's also going to be another minor f2p update this month where monsters of the dragon,demon,giant race will updated graphically

If F2P gets an update, F2Per's would say, "Jagex releases nice updates for us. I think I'll stay F2P for now." That would result in Jagex not having more money. F2P is a demo; it doesn't get updates because members is where teh money is.

There will always be f2p updates but they won't be so good, they will just motivate people to become a member. Can't motivate me though :wink:

ahh... let me add another thing about f2p updates. let me think... i've played since a long long time ago (my account started as a "miner"), and when the members was about to be released, they said the members will get to test all new things, and have more things to do, eventually the f2p will get some updates to, but afterwards. 2-3 years later... *still waiting for those updates*. umm... i think jagex became greedy... ok ok, maybe i misinterpretted what they said, but now is the thing i've noticed:

more bank space? i don't think we really need more. before, there was only 1 page of banking, and that slot max is 18 mill... umm... i think iv'e grown used to it, chucking things out that i don't need (and i got hacked so i really don't need bank space right now, just ores, ores, and... hey... 180 hammers... they didn't steal that!!)

 

 

 

non-members can only mine rune essence? that is not useful whatsoever, infact, it ruined many people. now we really know jagex is greedy (well, it is not a nonprofit company, so it's expected)

 

 

 

more member stuff in non-member space? omg, we need some space thankyou. i'm tired of seeing these new people who said things, then says you need to be a member (i'm a dam proud f2p. in fact, i want to try and recreate rs in my view someday... hopefully... maybe... guess not.. lol)

 

 

 

ok... what other undates do we have? secruity stronghold? is it even a quest? improved graphics? rs is not about graphics. you can't expect much with java's graphics.... now i'm stuck.. what updates did we really get?

actuly alley im my opion the stronghold was an awsome update for f2p the reward stinks but its the best place to train combat in the entire f2p world. F2p should be fine wiht one decent update liek the SOS every so often and thats good enough.

#1 - F2P has been getting updates. Perhaps you don't notice them. Game system updates, plus tons of graphics updates, ect. Just because you don't get a new skill or new items doesn't mean you aren't getting updates :shame: .

 

 

 

#2 - How is giving F2P more stuff going to make people want members more? All it will do is give people another excuse NOT to get members. That's a no brainer.

 

 

 

#3 - Refer to #1 and #2 again? :-k .

Since when is an "expansion pack" 10 times bigger than the original game (and free)? F2P Runescape is clearly made as a demo to convince people to buy the full version of the game.

F2P is a demo to get people to play the game and see if they like it.

 

 

 

And personally i think the only reason jagex had the Stronghold of Security update was because they wanted more people to have recovery questions set so that they wouldnt get bombarded by letters saying 'I just go thacked and I havent set my Recoery Questions, What do i do?', or by people saying 'I gave my password to some geek who said I can become a mod, What do I do?'

 

Thats why they have the questions on every other door, I personally hoped that they would disappear for the floor after you got the prize, it drives me nuts when I train.

 

And also to get the last 1 or 2 prizes you MUST have your recovery questions set.

And F2P only gets very small updates to keep them from rioting.

I remember the good old days where :

 

 

 

1.We only had an oak bow and steel arrows to train range

 

2.We have to click on *insert raw food* and on *range or fire* many times before cook X came out

 

3.The guards in Draynor were very good AFK training spot and there wasn't any underground place near draynor[the place where you bless that silver pot in desert treasure]

They woun't make any updates. I was amazed already when they came up with Stronghold of Security, Jagex told that they'll never make f2p updates again.

F2players only get small updates like once a year. But f2p also have the oppurtinity to get those holidays items on those quest that are realsed on christmas for example :) .

Yup, us F2P people (woot!) don't get very many things since we don't give Jagex any money, but thankfully enough, we get some small things like the Stronghold... I hope this year's Halloween update will be really good. (I don't actually think last year's was any good... just some zombie head?)

thats sorta the point they dont update it as much so the f2p people get a sample of the game and if they like it they become p2p

Well that is true... But did you know that this is my new account? I had a lvl 47 on my first account but then I lost the pass. Then I had my second account Tristyn12 but it got hacked and lost the pass so I quit. I usta play a different game but my friends decided to try this game so I joined along with them.

To be brutally honest, I don't want to see any updates, major or minor, until the bugs and glitches are fixed FIRST.

 

 

 

While the occasional update for F2P is nice, I would rather see that time devoted to clearing up the bugs and glitches.

 

 

 

While I'm pure non-members and do love the occasional update, I'm disappointed with those who keep asking for more when so much has already been given in comparison to other games which have a non-member and member system. F2P still gets holiday items, graphics updates, and have a ton more servers than members.

 

 

 

F2P is far from a demo in my view. A demo limits you to a point where you can't even level up anymore or can't even go so far into the game. F2P is very expanse, has 15 skills to do out of the 22 total, and has no limit on how high a level you can get to.

 

 

 

Take Priston Tale for example. The last time I played, the highest one could go was level 40, then you have to get members just to go higher. Naturally, that sucked. That meant no more new spells and endless wandering. :wall:

Ye.... I guess we should be humble that we have what we have, but the occasional updates always bring us f2p ppl happiness :P
