August 22, 200619 yr with the new boats, there is a Port Tryas. meaning you can get to the western lands without a teleport, or a walk through the underground pass/mountains! now on to my point. you take a boat out there. that conflicts the actual storyline with the elfs. that is a place where NO HUMAN has ever set foot on. the elf lands were supposed to be disconnected with the east. now, we have a shipping network that goes there. if there was a sea, wouldnt the people who have boatse wonder what was to the south west!?!?! it ruined the plotline of the Plague City series! unless tryas camp had communications to the east, and told the shipping network.. but then again, they were supposed to be cut off from the east!! back to my point.. sence we can ride boats there, we will probally be able to take a ship to the big elf city! or even the new western lands on the west side of the sea! August 22, 200619 yr We didn't have telephones in real life but when they were introduced was everyone crying about the story line? I don't see the sense of this post... Veteran Cape Owner (10 year)
August 22, 200619 yr We got telephones? Wow, now I don't have to turn around to read that backwards blue text any more!
August 22, 200619 yr lets face it alot of rs players arent interested ion the story line, they want easy access and new weapons On the official forums in recent updates, theres a large topic about people saying that the tyras camp and elf lands don't feel "back water" anymore, because of the mass of water and port west of the lands. The topic has probably gone down. No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.
August 22, 200619 yr lets face it alot of rs players arent interested ion the story line, they want easy access and new weapons I am very into storylines and good plots. A new weapon to me means either "Sub-par, not worth my time..." or "Great, now that I have the Uber-1337 L0ngSw0rd 0f D00MZ I can go power train. Great..../sarcasm". A plotline makes RS more interesting. Usually RS is just "Click here. Fight Monster. Repeat." But with good plots, it can really break the monotony and get you interested in RS again. /rambling
August 22, 200619 yr There's actually an elven history book I found in the bookshelf of my house that I found quite interesting. Forgot the name tho. It said that after the God wars the elves tried to make peace with all the different races (humans, gnomes, goblins, ogres) so that may be a partial explanation for the boat. I'd also like to point out that in Edgeville near the yew spot and near the place leading down to the dungeon there's an ELF FASHIONED DOOR. I find this intruguing, and maybe at the table near there peace negotiations took place. I honestly can't wait for Mourning's End Part 3. I hope we get to see Prifddinas and that this all is explained. I also hope that Port Tyras wasn't just another way of Jagex appeasing it's customers with a quick route to the Elf Lands because we already have a very decent way to get in. I currently have about 25 Lletya Tele Crystals (blame my elf slayer task) and I won't be using the Port Tyras ever. Ever. edit- I wanted to add that I think King Tyras is still alive and will some how pop up in MEP3 to stop his brother (King Lathas) from completing his evil plans of crushing Camelot. We don't rebel to sell it just suits us well, we're the bright young things.
August 22, 200619 yr yeah there are already cruystal seeds that tele u to llyeta. I got 1. Just started part 1 Doing a little bit of everything
August 22, 200619 yr The Elven lands still could be untouched by humans, if you take into account that they came from the west, over the sea. I somehow remember that being a piece of information from one of the quests related to them, or some book I've read from the game. I always thought that was the case anyway, and that the current Elven lands we have access to were just where the Elves set foot on our current little chunk of land. When they came to the east, that is where they settled, so I can understand if Tyras, and other humans have access. As I've said from reading the stories, I believe the true Elven lands are still to the west, across the sea.
August 22, 200619 yr Well there is a gate, so if you want to adhere to the storyline you can assume that those salesman don't go any further than the Tyras guards at the gate would allow. That'd just leave you wondering what the heck they'd be there for though.
