With the new prayer they may affect pking or not in many ways. For example, a range pure may get his prayer up to use the first or second prayer to boost his level. Like if somebdy had 99 range and 1 prayer, maybe they would get prayer up so that they can have a hgiher overall max hit with range. Or a main account who pks with rnage for example would have benefits becuase he already has the prayer so he could put it to use by using rnage prayer to raise his level. I don't think it will affect mages as much as rangers though becuase most people prefer overall hit instead of accuracy and mage only raises accuracy at the cost of all those prayer levels. The big question is... Will there be a new type of pure with these prayers? Maybe prayer beasts will become more common, maybe less people will have 1 prayer. Post what you think the new prayer will do for pking.

Nope, both of these just boost accuracy. They can't be used at the same time as an attack, str, or other range/mage prayer, but can be used at the same time as a defence prayer and the 6 OverHead prayers.

With range you hit higher, I was killing cave horrors all day then I turned pray on and hit a 10 with a bronze arrows, in the whole time i've been ranging i've only hit a 9 with bronze :D

No, it wouldn't help you hit more. It would be the difference between a 0-0 special and a 16-10 special, though.

Oh, really? The KB says they only do accuracy. Plus, it would be a bit unfair if it boosted the max hit of rangers' because then the mage prayers wouldn't be able to raise the max (or I assume so since every spell, except for slayer dart, has a finely established max hit already).

i KNOW you hit higher with range i hit a 18 on arhim with the highest one i have 70 range...

Well, I did hit a 21 with range pot and new prayer on a rc pker today, without prayer i was lucky to get a 20 in. 8-)

The KB says it increases range by 15% and higher range makes you both hit higher and hit more often

They dont, but if they do, please tell me how a level 80 ranger can hit 15's with addy arrows with the prayer and 13's without :-w

Despite your misinterpretation on the KB the range prayers do increase damage. As the KB guide says it boosts range by 15%...nowhere does it say it boosts range accuracy. Therefore, like every other combat skill it's affecting the skill itself. Logically for rangers this means increased accuracy and damage.

 

 

 

Anyway, as for how this affects pking let's just put it this way...ever since I read this on the BTS I've been stocking up on my more unusual and what used to be called "noobish" maging and ranging strategies. However, now they're perfect for range/mage pking. As well, now I don't worry at all about not bringing a dds since it's just not necessary. Seriously, I would say that the toughest hybrids out now are either range/mage (like me) or melee/range. This means that a lot of people either way are going to be ticked, but for the time being the melee/range hybrid pkers don't know a dime about how to use their advantages.

 

 

 

Meanwhile though I noticed that throughout the day of pking that some mage/range hybrids started adapting pretty well to tearing apart anyone their lvl to 10 lvls higher than them that came in their way in groups up to 2-3 when they are out soloeing. In otherwords, "Death to you all!"

 

 

 

Note: Group p2p pking is still the advisable method of pking and I would strongly recommend not solo p2p pking, especially right now...unless you really really don't mind giving your stuff away within an hour.

Yes ranged prayers will make you hit higher, but i have a feeling it reduces your accuracy (atleast i hitted too many zeros while i had my pray on...)

well they own the mb with barrage this is my recent kill with it and i only missed 2 or 3 spells and most of the hits were still 20+ trough his prayer and blk hides :)

Why are you wating time taking screenies and highlighting laws? if I was you, I would have grabbed the whip as soon as i saw it and dropped everything else in my inv and pick up everything worth it and run to mage bank, logging out if I have to to avoid PKers, if I can avoid the resulting heart attack from excitement of course!
