ok so heres my idea what if you could change ure name on runescape to whatever u want cus maybe u feel like a change or something.

 

 

 

so what would happen , u go into an option to change ure name and u type what u want ure name to be, then runescape will give u a message when uve changed it saying ure name will be changed in the next 24 hours or another possibility the next time u log out and log back in.

 

 

 

when u have ure new name a message will be sent to all of your friends saying that you have changed ure name to this name , and another idea for this, it costs money to do it by some wizard/preist about 6k/10k

 

and when he changes it , it will send a message to all of your friends like the last one saying you have done this blablabla but it comes up in friends chat btw forgot to mention in other one. and the thing is you can't change ure name for a couple of days 76 hours or somat so u can't like change it change it change it and just generally get on all of ure friends nerves with flaming.

Sorry, I don't agree with that idea! if you created a name for your account you should stick with it, just like in forums. You can't just suggest to get new names everytime. This would be so hard for Jagex to find out who is the scammer and the breaker of the rules.

You have to change too much memory, from all of your friends list, ingame chat, doing this at 100k+ players....lag p10x?

okay, theres a different game that you can change your name, on but when someone looks on friends list for example and their friend changed their name you hover the mouse over the new name, and it says the old

alright, obviously you have not thought this through. All the quests have ur name recorded in them, they don't do it by face or ip adresss...its but name, whose done it and not. THere is no possible way for them to do this without wrecking the entire system. THink about friends lists? All your friends wouldn't know. THis would just not work.

I I think this is a bad idea, but I do think anyone with a number in their name should have to change it. It's no that hard to come up with something original and not aznzezima882929(i know it's too many characters...)

 

 

 

 

 

I think I did the math, and there can be either 953962166440690129601298432 names (i think it's wrong) or 2481152873203736576, I'm pretty sure you either take number of spots available (12) to the n'th power, n=number of letters in the alphabet or the other way around...Seems too much though...

Now see if you lived in the US theres a goverment website that lets you legally change your name. I think you need parental permission if your under 18. My friend hates his name (Marad out of all things) Hes gonna change it someday...someday....

dont be soo harsh on him, i personally like the idea. my friend has a name like 'barny rules' which he started when he was like 5 and now hes regreating it cause he walks around with a name 'barny rules' and hes really embrassed...so that would be great if he could change his name.

No. They would also have to auto-change friend list names...Which would not only take up lots of memory but might create bugs and be chaotic.

hmm its just not practical though. :? People wouldn't know what person to add and everything, friends lists, ignore lists they'd all get confusing. Unless it said everytime someone changes their name on the blue writing, Runescape11 has changed his/her name to Runescape22.

a new section on website specifically for a section which contains the users friend list, that users original name, and further towards the top of that list all the ones that have chagned recently, and the name they changed too..

I disagree with that idea. Basicly because one day you got scammed, record the name since you relized it took you 60 mins to relize, you report to Jagex and it has no idea who that is because he changed the name.

I'm back to this forum, and I will make a suggestion. Don't worry, I will research it a lot before posting it, which I've never done before.

your name is the only thing to keep you unique, being able to change it would play havoc on the servers too.
