In RuneScape (not IRL), the sun has gone down. The sky is filled with stars. The street lanterns have been lit, and the guards are out on duty looking for anyone doing bad things in the streets.

along time ago when i first started i sent in a letter about night and they sent one back saying that jagex was working on it but that was 2 years ago so looks like they forgot :XD:

yeh..jagex said that a long tiem ago along with adding in rain. this was way back like 4/5 years ago

RuneScape with a weather forecast? (Doesn't seem like a good idea if you're going to wear your full iron/steel out in the rain...)

It would be fun if they did put that in, but I don't think they will ever put in weather and night/day things in Runescape, sadly enough :( .

Ah a weather system - what a great idea. It could be dependent on the weather in the real world. For example, if you log onto a London server, the weather on that server is identical to the weather in London at that precise moment. If there's a lot of fog in the real world, then the visibility of people playing on those servers is greatly reduced - imagine pking in the fog!

I think weather and night/day would have more downsides then good things for them.

the first step would be to add runescape time 1 timezone and then night and day

they have snow atm...on waterbirth but i dont think theyll do it because if you just go onto random servers like most people do atm then the night and day wouldn't be right...if you were on a sidney server it might be only 2pm where you are but its dark in game

back in 03 they used to post pics of rs2 on the site and one of them was on the balcony at juliets house and you could clearly see clouds in a blue sky (camera angle was at 180 degrees i think)

That'd be so cool to have weather based on the server you're playing on..

Hehe, the most frequently suggested addition for Runescape ever. If anyone suggests it in the right board for Runescape suggestions they get shot down straight away and told to search.

 

 

 

I would love Day/Night and at least random weather (if not live to where the server is), but alas, I bet you.. Bubsa's hat (hope you have one Bubsa) that we'll never see it, maybe one day in Runescape 3, but not now.

 

 

 

Sparcely lit Wilderness with tourches illuminating dead trees and what looks like a Ranger smiling while aiming his Bow. Different monsters coming out only at Sunset/Sunrise/Night. The Desert (the deep member's part) would stop requiring you to do whatever it is with travelling with so much water at night... A huge amount of things they could add, but too much work for something which isn't really needed.

But yeah, having something like this on a Java based engine would take up so much resource with very little purpose. Anyone here ever played Eternal Lands? *Shudder* Just look at that...

 

 

 

JAGeX want the game to be playable on even the most bog-standard of computers and this would jeapordise it.

Maybe they could make another setting for people who want Day/Night as they do with High/Low Detail settings now. Possibly customise whether you want to have.. Weather :

If they had hail! :shock: All the noobs in the street would keep getting one hitted, and runescape would be free of noobs! :pray: :thumbsup:

I'd like it, but as others have said, it's cause lag, and other graphical slowdowns on people's computers. Some people's computers are terrible as it is and I don`t think this would help very much. ><

i think that would be very cool if we did have a day/night, stormy/clear, cloudy/sunny... it would lend a real sense of realism to the game.

so its lie this. You just bought fullsara or other expensive armor. It rains its rusts its useless!!!!

problay be a big update, and could lag down alot of comps that can bearly handle rs as it is now :( they might make like a super high quality that has weather for members only so they probaly wont but who knows i personally would enjoy it alot
